Epic 👍 Gimme more, mate! I wonder if you would want to make a sequel to this, fading right into the 2nd track of Alan Parsons' »Eye in the Sky« masterpiece. My original vinyl got too scratched to listen to. Loved that album when I was seventeen 😁
Awsome tune man, I love it - gives me Jarre vibes all over it, and those two are pure synth heaven to play with, I have one of them myself - infinite sound tweaking possibillities, throw another cheap little cheery synth like the Roland JD-XI in the mix and you have endless famous Roland TR-series drum machines to accompany your work, the JD-XI has an "on-the-fly" tracker so you can play and create drum sequences on-the-fly right there while you do your Modwave/Wavestate thing. I did that - and it's the BOMB!
Cool melody and baseline..... you can keep the same motif and remake it with more drums... a la retrowave..unless it was meant and written in the direction you composed the music.....sounds good
How did i get on with Kurt ? I was feeling inert but Klingklang and i played ping pong, had a sing song - ging gang goolie - had a hissy fit, threw a hoolie - got paid and played music for Julie who was truly unruly.Sat sulking on a plinth but with the gift of a synth we played Cynthia a synth in each ear - she started to cry so not to leave it to fate, switched off the Wavestate and with a Modwave goodbye he's such a good chap that he said " Stop eating that bap and i'll give you some rap ", without further ado then what did he do ? It was just after noon so he played her this tune with his didgeridoo that he'd mended with glue cos he's really quite foxy and it was an open box, see, that's technical jargon for Kurt likes a bargain ( or two ). One nay cannot escape that his music's ship shape and you may swallow your words, have a note in your throat or concur with his chords which can't be ignored but she began to get bored so like a Bulgarian Bishop he mashed up a smash dub in the pub " Isn't it tip top, hearing hip hop, wearing flip flops in a chip shop ? " Julie said, " Whaaaat ? "......
I loove it!! Bravo! I am about to buy one of these, which one of the two you would advice me to get? :) Also, I had an Minilogue XD and I could record a sequence which plays on its own but I thinks that it is not possible with these ones, isn´t it? In the video, how do you do to play one sound over another? Do you play with a sustain? Thank youuu
Thanks for that. I tend to think the Wavestate is more versatile. If I had to choose to keep only one, it would probably be the Wavestate. You can program a 64 note sequence - so it would depend on how 'busy' the sequence was as to how long that is in bars. Although you can't 'play in' a sequence. I do use a sustain pedal, to smooth out chord changes. Also helps to hold a chord and change a patch.
Thanks. There are plenty of drum samples onboard. The downside is that to make any sort of decent drum track, you need to use more than one layer, as a sample lane can only play one sample at a time. I kept the rhythmic element very simple because of this. The video was intended as a demo the Wavestate and Modwave combination, so I deliberately avoided using any other kit. To make a more interesting drum track, with variations, a dedicated drum machine might be a better option. Although I'm more from the Berlin school of electronic music, so it's a more than adequate arrangement.
I wish the bass was more focused but I think a couple 'o MOOGS will fix that in the mix. Imagine that various synths and samplers play well together, take about a half dozen and it is time to rodeo! Then multitrack, listen, change, listen, edit, listen delete , cat sleeps on computer keyboard and there no project left...BACK UP YER DATA! Back up yer data!
Thanks for your comments. I'm interested you say it is 32Khz. I can't find anything that specifies the sample rate for either the Wavestate or Modwave. However, you can certainly import 16bit 48Khz samples onto both machines, so my assumption there would be that the audio quality of these machines reflects that. All I can say is that, in the flesh, it sound good to me. The audio in the video I left vanilla, no after recording tweaking, just as it was recorded on my iPad (in retrospect I think it is a little quiet). I'm sure the audio compression algorithm on RUclips doesn't help. The sound seemed to be in the 'good' range from reviewers I've consulted (Loopop, Bo Beats).
@@kurtklingklang5918 i dont talk about your sound but machine :) for me modwave is really good enough but why stop at 32khz was possible 44/48 pro user tell that ... i m not a pro user :D for them it s a problem for this korg, but sure sound is not same youtube and when you play like when i do a live on facebook cos compression that s right... nice sound again.
@Dave Gahan Hi! I find this 32 kHz rather strange. I could’nt find any mention of it, as did @Kurt Klingklang for that matter. The only thing I found was that : "Each waveform in a Wavetable is stored as a single 32-bit floating-point table with 2048 samples, referred to below as the “base table.” This corresponds to a pitch of about 25 Hz". 25 Hz correspond to 2048 samples at 48 kHz sampling rate (48000 / 2048 = 23,43 Hz). So it seem to me that the modWave has a 48 kHz sampling rate. And a 32 bits floating point definition! Which is very good!
@@Jason75913 Yes that's what I said too. It's @Dave Gahan who mentioned 32kHz. I just demonstrated that we can find the 48 kHz from the assertions in the manual, even if it's never specifically indicated
Really nice piece of music!
Both of the korg is so amazing 👌😊
Realy warm nice sounds.
Great performance :)
Greetings Sweden
Excellent... thanks for sharing. You have inspired me to finally crack open the owners manual and learn how to sequence with the WaveState...
These synths are born to stay together. Great! 🤩👍🏻
Great Sounds and Great Playing
Thanks very much!

Great sounds from these. They go together very well. I can hear your influences, they come shining through.
It is my dream to make a setup with the WaveState, ModWave and Opsix, you got really far already and it sounds cool!
So good. Really outstanding job.
Yeeah, man💪💫 You made that I always just wanted, to combine these two engines together and make some madness 🙌🙏
Good work, great harmony 👍

is nice to use very old and very new stuff when needed.
I can hear the Jarre style very much here👍
Even Tangerine Dream to some degree🤔
I can see the classic colour night drive video here.
Very nice synthwave.
You have your own style here though.

Very cool programming and playing. The main hook gets annoying fast. The sounds are fantastic nevertheless. 🎉
Sounds great!!
Thanks very much.

Wow amazing
And now…. Your Chicago bulls!!!
👌👌
Waiting for the 96 Chicago Bulls to run out
Are you able to send any recordings of this..I could put some electric guitar to parts of it...it would all sound really good.

Cool and Solid. It also has a slight Adamsky vibe. One thing, the drums are a bit generic. Some taiko rolls could be great
