  • Super exciting times here at rosco_m68k HQ! This is the first time the system has been run fully standalone (i.e. not tethered to a modern computer)!
This is using the awesome Xosera for video, reading programs from SD card, with me typing on the BRAND NEW rosco_m68k Keyboard, which is coming to the store very soon!
Keep an eye on the store or sign up to be notified: store.rosco-m6...

Found this while looking for a mechanical ASCII keyboard for my retro projects. Unfortunately I was looking for a parallel ASCII keyboard, along the lines of what we built in the old days with the faithful MM5740 Keyboard Encoder chip and surplus keyboards we wired in the appropriate matrix. Since you've already done the hard work of designing the mecahnical keyboard PCB (and firmware etc.), have you considered enhancing it to also support a parrallel (with strobe) interface, as well as serial? That would complete it as being a general retro mechanical keyboard solution.

Hi! Great question :) A parallel interface is definitely a thing I'd like to do (and the hardware was designed with one eye on this as a future enhancement) 👍
