- Street Photography in Tokyo's hippest neighborhood Shimokitazawa / FUJI X-Pro 3 / Voightlander 35mm
Once again I explore a district of Tokyo to do some street photography and take some candid snaps. This week I am venturing into the bohemian village of Shimokitazawa, an area famed for live music, theatre, art, vintage fashion, and creative energy.
Armed with the FUJI X-PRO 3 and the Voightlander 35mm Nokton Classic F1.4 MC I hit the streets of my local neighborhood with the aim to capture photos that have a vintage feel to suit the vintage vibe of the area.
Join me on my photo journey as I give you my unique tour of the area coupled with plenty of POV street photos.
All images were shot RAW then edited in capture one Pro. I used Fuji's classic negative colour profile as a starting point, then adjusted levels, reduced saturation slightly, cropped, and added a vignette to try and get a nice vintage look to the images.

Happy Birthday Jonny! 100% visiting Shimokitazawa next time im there, get me some of those crepes ha
Shimokitazawa represent
yes mate!!
What a great birthday present! The 1.4/35mm Nokton Classic is such a great lens being based on the vaunted 35mm Summilux pre-ASPH that was used in so much photojournalism some decades back. I love its look. Glad to see your results from it on a Fujifilm! Well done. I like the blend of tour guide and street photography....it’s a welcome change from some of the street photography channels elsewhere on the Tube. Greetings from soggy Portland, OR.

THANKS YOOOOOO
yes m80 nice1, never heard of shimokitazawa but it looks chill. will you one day go to the sumo wrestling part of town?
Was there in September. Feels like a different world now in many ways. Really like this combo of travel porn and analogue photography. Not watched all the other eps yet but a Japanese dark room could be interesting place to see if you have access to one. Unless it's just exactly the same kind of space! Anyway, great channel. Loved your sets when you were in the UK.
Just realised it's digital mainly. So maybe not dark room. Still loving it though.
OH SHIT WAS HAPPY BD FOR YOUR BEAUTIFUL SOUL!!
arigatooooo miss you guys
Oye Bruv! Your a great host! My dads from Manchester. I got an x pro 3 a year ago and me mum got me the M mount adapter to put some Leica glass on but the crop conversion from a Leica 50 to the x mount is so tiny its pointless and I had to return it. But Having that analog rangefinder lense experience is just so beautiful and addicting I kinda wanna go back and buy the adapter again and throw on the Voight 35 1.4. I was really hoping to see some frame line examples. Is it cropped a lot? How was your experience combining the x3 with the Voight? With the adapter is it super chunky or pretty compact? What kinda adapter did you use? Would you overall recommend this rig? When the world opens back up im def ganna fly over and check this area out! Also do you have a back story on why you live there?
Also happy Birthday from a while back.
Loving the videos, Jonny! Will you do a Nakano video? I absolutely adore Nakano! x
