- Ahsoka is finally over and I am finally free from my self inflicted torcher. I'm confident in saying that Ahsoka is the worst piece of Star Wars storytelling that we have ever seen. And yes, its far worse than Kenobi ever was. The Character work in this show is laughable and it ruins every character that it touches. Leia is only mentioned in a throw away line and it still did damage to her. Ahsoka, Sabine, Hera, Morgan, Thrawn, and sadly Mon Mothma, are all damaged in this show. And the plot doesnt make sense and im not going to explain it. The world building is ruined since now anyone can be a Jedi and the New Republic is absolutely incompetent. And there is zero hope of the next movie or show not being terrible. but yeah other than that its a pretty good show.

jedi knight outcast and academy are better jedi games than the respawn franchise
honestly lightsabers duels started to being lame in the prequels even if they still cut people down, they prioritized the spectacle, spins, opponents with no characterizations (maul, grievous, dooku, reminds me of the ones of this series), weightless and super fast (but at least good) choreography and endless duration, all of this sacrificed the characters' drama, rawness, tension and atmosphere during the fight like the OT, especially ESB, in the prequels during the fight they feel like weightless glowsticks until the final blow, this series is try to do that formula because Filoni is a fan of Phantom menace, but he even failed it, which is hilarious.
They're now the equivalent of those $5.00 knockoff toys you buy at Wal-Mart.
@Spillow-C I get what you're saying, but technically, lightsabers should be pretty weightless, and wielded by people with increased senses. Being impaled would absolutely destroy your torso, though, there would be no coming back from that.
I'm convinced the real Ahsoka died fighting Darth Vader. This one must be a dark force ghost called Assoka. Who stole the real Ahsoka's identity. And it's mission was to bring Thrawn back to the core worlds.

@@livecarsonreaction Andor isn't a normal SW story, and has nothing that made the OT great. It's its own self contained story focusing on a single location and non-force using characters. You can't apply that to everything else, otherwise it's not SW and more like House of Cards.

Also, I think Ahsoka probably would have been very interested to learn of Anakin's son's attempts to save him from the dark side. Thanks for further breaking the Star Wars world, Disney!

3:37 this breaks canon btw, When Filoni and Favereau created Vizla in clone wars they wanted to give him a weapon that could stalemate a lightsaber and George said NO it has to be another lightsaber or an electric staff and now here we are with multiple weapons that can go toe to toe with a lightsaber. But why am I surprised when you can get stabbed with these mtfs and be fine. IG Quigon had food poisoning and Mauls saber just sped it up
Whether or not it breaks canon, every time they introduce a new weapon which has similar/superior attributes to a lightsaber, it makes lightsabers that much less interesting, cool and powerful. Hell, even the overuse of lightsabers in the prequels made them a bit less iconic and cool, and now we've reached the point where non-lethal lightsaber stabbings don't just exist, they are the expected outcome.
I know I should expect the worst from Disney, but it still baffles me how they can get even the simplest things completely wrong.

The sequels atleast had some charismatic character, fun interactions, some great action scenes, good acting, set design, CGI and music. They're not THAT bad.
TFA is a decent movie with great characters, TLJ is a really ambitious mess with some great concepts (but wasted time on stupid stuff and wrote the story into a corner)
And RoS feels like it was made by and for people with severe ADHD

And people actually got defensive and bombarded me with stuff like:

"you can't judge the show based on 4 episodes"
My main points were the following: the characters act as if they're bored, they just stand around and talk in a monotone way.
Fans actually defended this by saying "Yeah because it's actually being smart and taking it slow"
Yeah BORING is≠smart or a good script.
This is doubly Ironic, because the same fans are the ones who hate Andor because NO LIGHTSABERS and too little action.
Whenever I heard praise for Ahsoka, it was always stuff like "WOW the fight choreography is cool, omg thing I remember showed up, they referenced this, character from show I remember! Lightsabers! Omg that fight scene, callback. OMG CLONE WARS IN LIVE ACTION. Omg Vader flashed in a cool tik tok Edit, even tho it's in a multi million dollar show"
They never talked about the writing or character development, and if you pointed out that there WAS NO character development. They countered with "You're just not smart enough to get it, there was plenty of development"

Let's not forget Ezra escaping Thrawn's ship happened completely off-screen. That could've been an entire episode on it's own.

The Morgan vs Ahsoka only looked decent because the actor playing Morgan is an actual stunt woman/martial artist. It's only her fluid movements that improves the scene.
If everyone could be a Jedi were true, as shitty as Mando S3 was, this means Moff Gideon would not need to make clones with Midichlorians in order to have them use the Force.

I do however feel like if anyone could become one then there wouldn't have only been Yoda and Obi-wan, they definitely would have sought to train someone in secret, even if it was just extra protection for Luke. @@JKurayami I always took it more as anyone can be born with force-sensitive potential. You don't have to be the descendent of some great Force dynasty. But people still have varying potential and because the Force is in all living things, everyone has it to some degree. If you're never trained you never learn your potential or gain new abilities. There are theories that Han's "luck" or piloting ability is his force-sensitivity manifesting. There's no real point in Jedi training for him though because he doesn't have enough midichlorians to truly commune with the Force. Legends stories and specifically the Thrawn trilogy put that it was possible to create clone Jedi but they inevitably go crazy and often die because their Force connection is unnatural.
@@He-Man00 It hasn't. George Lucas never intended the force to be used by everyone. People misunderstand having an indwelling agent for being able to **also** influence that agent. Everyone has the force guiding them, but not everyone can harness it. It would simply make the esoteric qualities of Jedi and Sith entirely untenable. These are closed societies existing for 10s of thousands of years. It is not possible for their secrets to remain so esoteric that the rest of the galaxy is incapable of replicating them since their inception. It's utterly nonsensical.
What exactly did the prequels turn the force into? This is curious. People always complain about midichlorians, but never have a logical reason as to why? Are you going to say that the force was reduced to a biological property? You would be wrong. No such claim or position is made through midichlorians. Midichlorians represent a side effect of the force manifesting from an individual. The force is beyond biology, however it indwells biology. Thus the causal nature therein shews markers representing how porous the biological agent is to the force. This is a logical position. If you have a reasonable issue against it, please provide your logical position.

This show was such a disappointment on so many levels.
Growing up with Clone Wars and Rebels I thought I would enjoy this show but Filoni committed sempuku in his own writing for this.

I find it funny how in the first few days after a star wars show releases, it is praised and usually well recieved. After one week the first negative reviews show up and after a few weeks these shows are suddenly recieved as horrible and worse than the ones before. (Only exeptions: Mandalorian S1,2 and Andor) Of course this is just my limited point of view but certainly an observation i made.
TBH I rarely come across any praise for any SW show other than Andor. I'm sure there are still some die-hard shill channels that will praise any new Star Wars product to death, but why would anyone go there unless they are still desperately trying to convince themselves that they still like Star Wars?
As for your observation, it is easier to produce uncritical praise (or mindless hate for that matter) than it is to substantively criticise something. So of course the shills and the die-hard haters would have a head-start on anyone genuinely trying to review a show on its merits or lack thereof.

How did you not notice Ezra arrived in a IMPERIAL Vessel on board a REPUBLIC war vessel, with no CLEARANCE CODES, didn't get SHOT down, lands freely, comes out of the ship in his storm trooper outfit, didn't get SHOT on site, didn't get ARRESTED on site, the entire BRIDE CREW standing there with there blasters, EZRA had plenty of time to take his outfit off during flight or atleast remove his helmet so he didn't get SHOT down. But no thanks to DAVE and his WRITING SKILLS it was needed for a dramatic scene 🙄

Wait a minute, the Nightsisters aren't human? When did that happen I know that Disney decided to throw the Expanded Universe in the trash, but since that's where the Nightsisters first appeared I just figured that the same rules applied.
I thought Morgan came from Dathomir too. She’s technically a night sister despite not looking like the great mothers. By the way, the correct term is humanoids, as the Nightsisters are not regular humans.
If Ahsoka wasn't travelling at a snail's pace with the snail people, her, Ezra and Sabine would've been either on the ship hours before its departure and would've either been able to stop Thrawn OR be stowaways onboard and return home.
I didn't need another reason to not watch Ahsoka, but thanks.

@@chriswhite599 not even close imo. Have you seen Rise of Skywalker or TLJ? they make no sense from beginning to end. Kenobi also has borderline retarded storytelling (I'm looking at you Reva). At least Ahsoka was simple enough that it made sense overall, it's just get Thrawn and get out, that's the whole plot.

this show wasn't all bad, it had that green alien's butt, which was nice and i also liked the sith lady with the oliver tree hair and her master. sadly those two and their storylines didn't get any screentime or proper conclusion so i guess the only redeeming quality ends up being the butt.
Heck, even Shiggy and his friends are much better villains than these dumpster fire the circuses of Disney have made.
Instead of sacrificing loyal troopers and Morgan Thrawn could have just blown up the tower once they're inside. He did it anyway once it was too late so he clearly didn't care about it. Best case the jedi die during the collapse. Worst case they lost their only way onto the ship...

The real sequel trilogy is the 3 Timonthy Zaughn novels Heir to the Empire, Dark Force Rising, and The Last Command!
Of all the many poorly written parts of this episode the one that irked me the most in the moment is why wouldn’t Thrawn seal the doors? (I also thought Ezra was about to chop Huyang in half when he ignited the lightsaber in that room)

Thrawn really has been reduced to a stupid person's idea on how to write a smart character. He makes obvious mistakes because he would have won otherwise and the show bends over backwards to pretend it's "part of the plan" or impossible to do anything about.
Why didn't he just fly off once the cargo was loaded?
Why didn't he lock the doors up the tower? He clearly didn't since the jedi locked them from the inside to slow down the zombies! Sure, lightsabers cut through doors but we've seen many times it still takes time. Enough time that Ezra wouldn't have barely made it onto the destroyer. If he got really lucky they would have been slowed down enough for the zombies to corner them!
Women being allowed to show emotions or hug is the same as how lightsaber stabs aren't lethal.

This show is sooooooooooooooooo boring.
I see multiple people still arguing about the Force deal with Sabine so here is my input:
She was shown constantly to be weak and untalented with the Force but then she masters it so suddenly (jarringly too) at the end of the series. Breaks immersion and and the specialty of being Jedi/Sith.
It has been established that everyone can use the Force, but not everyone can use it equally. While some would be born to be strong enough to literally push black holes, others can't even lift a pebble. At a young age, or even as babies, force sensitives may use the Force unknowingly and uncontrollably, like a strong baby reaching and object out of their react, or a kid having an emotional outburst that push everyone into the walls. But they would not know what they are doing or how they can do it.
The Jedi seek out these individuals and train then to harness and control their powers for light side of the Force. But the thing is, the Jedi Order had become blinded by pride and arrogance. Instead of selecting force sensitives by the will of the Force and training anyone, regardless of their heritage or force sensitivity (like Legends Luke Skywalker did in his Academy), the Jedi Order instead selected the strongest and at young age to brainwash into their beliefs, while the rest were left abandoned to rot, forgotten.
These individuals under the Jedi Order would undergo years, decades, their entire life of training, physical and mental, to keep the focused on building their connection with Force ever stronger. And by the time these kids reached adulthood, most were only knights with few reaching master. It is hard to master the Force.
But in that last episode of Ahsoka, it felt more like Sabine had acquired a video power up rather than learn an newly earn skill.
I feel like there'd be more interesting interactions in the p0rn parody of Ahsoka:
Ezra and Sabine's reunion goes all the way, his 10 years alone building up a major desire.
They then meet up with Ahsoka, and round two is actually a threesome.
The Ahsoka talks to Sabine alone, leading to more 'interactions.'
Cut to Thrawn and the night sisters, showing us why the only thing that's not blue about him after 10 years in exile is a particular body part.
Finally, after Thrawn gets away, Ahsoka and Sabine realise that it's just them on the planet as they go another round. Anakin watches on with pride (still doesn't get any after Padme, not even in a parody!)
Ezra gets back to Hera, and we finally get to see the kind of mother-son kind of relationship they really had (hint: the pages of ship-fiction brought to life where he frequently says "yes, mommy" and she only wears her jcket). Why did they have to take away Thrawn's epaulettes only to have two shiny rectangles on his shoulders? We get it, it matches a CGI version of Thrawn, but using CGI to create delicate curls of material is expensive and labor intensive in a children's show, _buying cheap knock off epaulettes costs almost nothing_ for a company that has a budget like Disney. They're routinely on Marching Band uniforms across the United States. It would add to his character design that would be a wink & nod to the old fans of the video games from the 90's. His uniform is also described in Heir to the Empire. The entire premise of the rank of Grand Admiral was to demonstrate how these individuals are far above their fellow flag officers, their appearance was to be striking and almost archaic compared to the mundane uniforms the Imperial Navy and Army use. They rival Moffs in true power, they have a direct line to the Emperor himself. This just hurts my brain.
This is just one tiny element of design that would help add more flavor to this pile of tasteless goop people call television.
Personally, I see this show as a setup for Ahsoka and Sabine having a 'Brokeback Mountain' film dedicated to them being stranded on that stupid planet.

I tried watching Ahsoka to see if it's as bad as I remembered and yeah, it's still bad. At best it's just lazy, dull. I don't think there's anything worth watching in the Star Wars world.

OK here is what I got about Thrawns and the Nightsisters agreement.
What Thrawn got from the Nightsisters:
His soldiers resurrected so he had protection in this new galaxy.
Repairs to his ship as well as his troopers armor.
The Nightsisters reached across galaxies to contact Morgan so she could find the map and also create the hyperring to come save Thrawn.
Basically they protected him and ensured his safety so he could return home.
What the Nightsisters got from Thrawn.
The ability to leave the planet and galaxy WITH their precious cargo. Baylon does point out that they seem to be trying to flee a higher power. Basically the Nightsisters protected Thrawn knowing that he would ultimately become their liberation from this galaxy.
What I don't understand:
Admittedly there is alot, but one thing that has constantly bugged me since the finale is why did Thrawn order the Hyperring to enter the planets atmosphere to sync up with the Chimaera when the Chimaera could have rocketed up into orbit and completed the sync in space where it was less likely Ahsoka would have been able to do anything at all? Yes she has a ship, but it has been damaged at this point so she couldn't have chased them into orbit. Most of Thrawns other piss poor decisions in the show I could sum up to him not wanting to needlessly waste resources that he didn't have. Why did he only send two tie fighters? Because loosing two tie fighters to delay Ahsoka was deemed acceptable and in reality it worked so yes, it was a waste but a justified one. He sent Baylon and Shinn to kill Ahsoka but also because he wanted to be rid of them. He doesn't dislike his own "men" so why would he knowingly sacrifice more of them for nothing at all? They even volunteered to stay behind for him near the end. That's called loyalty. I firmly believe that if Thrawn had to sacrifice every other being on his ship to ensure his own safety he would have, but it wasn't necessary so why would he?
It took a few months of BSUP streams, but ya won me over, Andrew. Glad I finally subscribed, cause this video was hilarious.
At least Lucas eventually admitted he can't write "dialog" and was seeking advice from other writers. Filoni probably thought he's all of the Coen bros and Gilroy bros and then some.

My assumption is that her “betrayal” was actually her listening to the “force.” That doesn’t excuse the poor writing, though. I also think KK is responsible for a lot of the bad decisions, like her now being a Jedi. That also doesn’t excuse DF for the crappy decisions he made.
I still found some enjoyment from the show, but that’s only because Kenobi broke me and Mando S3 (which I couldn’t finish) desecrated the broken remains.
Maybe it’s because I don’t care for these characters as strongly, or maybe it’s because my expectations were so incredibly low. I did try and trick myself into thinking the show at least had some heart and potential, but I cannot delude myself any longer. It has some good moments, but it’s mostly a trashfire. It’s just a trashfire that offends me far less (despite arguably being worse) than Kenobi or Mando S3.
The scene where Ahsoka, Sabine and Ezra all have lightsabers and swinging them to deflect the zombie troopers shots, it looks like a cruise ship show, feels cheap and the sets and everything just feel cheap, the zombie sounds feel like they were downloaded from RUclips stock sounds, it all feels hollow, I want a show with Jedi and the force but with the care and craft of andor, not this kiddy happy meal garbage

Go back and watch Clone Wars Season 1 Episode 1 … Yoda CLEARLY tells the clones (while they were in the cave) that “the force” resides in ALL living creatures. Yoda then tells the clones that even they can access the force if they would only listen.
I have no problem with people discovering “the force” to one degree or another, what I do have a problem with is taking an already great character and then just slapping the force onto them because … “the force is female” or something bs.
There was no point in making Sabine aware of the force within her, it only serves to devalue her character.
Ahsoka was my second favorite character in all of Star Wars before the series aired, after the series aired, she is not even in my top ten … maybe not even on my list.

It’s encouraging to see OG fans of the OT and newer fans who grew up with Rebels and Clone Wars and the more recent movies come together to reject the load of garbage that Feloni and Favreau have been dumping on us.
This franchise deserves more respect than its getting from the Mouse - everyone agrees on that and candidly, most of us saw that coming when LucasFilm was bought by Disney.
