i recently found Chanel Egoiste Platinum and i cant believe no one else talks about it. Its become my daily signature scent. It is a bit more mature but i still wear it at 20 years old. Its a masterpiece and has gotten me a lot of compliments
"Chanel Egoiste Platinum and i cant believe no one else talks about it" - you are wrong. People talk too much about it. Everywhere its on top of ranks. I have 100ml but I dont rly like it too much and wear rarely. I'm even considering selling my bottle.
I only got chance to sample Platinum Egoiste for the first time a couple of months ago. Oh my, it's very special. It's the level of special I was expecting from the original Dior eau Sauvage, but didn't quite get. Platinum Egoiste is indeed, imho, a masterpiece.
No one talks about it cause it's one of the most played out over worn scents ever. Don't forget that was one of the most popular men's fragrances in the entire '90s era. Every single man wore it. It was the sauvage back in the day.
Earlier I thought Platinum Egoiste is not a good and unnecessary release by Chanel. And I was in a huge mistake. It is a masterfully balanced fougere I should concern. The geranium note balance with fresh green notes metallic accord and citrus. Masterpiece by J.Polge Enjoy my friend
I tried the original Prada Luna Rossa the other day and loved it. No one talks about it on youtube - I think it’s a slept on masterpiece and the best of the series IMO. So light yet powerful - I don’t know how they managed that contradiction.
I just love these content not talking about the same scents over and over, but highlighting the forgotten gems. I got some in my collection I rarely hear anybody speak about. Cheapy: Tabac (EdC & Craftsman). Great longevity for a very low price. The OG is an old scent (1959) but such a beautiful complex mixture of ingredients. Designer: D&G Pour Homme; Also an old scent.... but to me it is magic. Bottega Veneta Pour Homme; Gentleman's leather fragrance. Guerlain: Everybody talks about the L'Homme Idéal, but rarely I hear about the (to me) better line: Homme (or L'Eau Boissée), Habit Rouge, Heritage, etc.. Niche: My ultimate favorite; Montale Greyland. Just can't stop sniffing it. Wood, wood and more wood.... and some rose and pepper and vetiver and musk and leather...
Oh man, that is right up my alley. 15 frags in less than 10 minutes. Perfectly portraied with sharp comparisons. All I need to know is right there. Great work, thanx
You're the first reviewer I follow to mention Aqua di Parma Oud. It's an amazing, unique, and quite wearable oud based scent. It's fantastic but price is a bit high to me. But still weird that no one talks about it
I own ADP Oud parfum. Totally agree it's fantastic. I've worn it out with family and to the office as well. It's really versatile, fresh with depth and sophistication.
One that I think is slept on - Acqua di Parma Vaniglia. Not the colonia one, but the EDP in the black bottle. It’s a little feminine, but it’s the best vanilla fragrance I’ve ever smelt. It’s just pure vanilla with a slight floral touch. Nobody talks about it
I think chanel allure home sport colonge is a masterpiece, no one appreciates it enough, when you first spray it on you smell EXACTLY like a fresh cut lemon and as time passes the rest of the notes come through and you smell absolutely beautiful it’s so fresh and clean gorgeous fragrance that gets no love and lasts a lot longer than people say it does, im also not a fan of Gucci fragrances but guilty black is a masterpiece, another one that I don’t see getting enough love, again its very fresh and citrusy almost fruity. Both of these are fresh but smell different and do last a good while, and both i would say are masterpieces.
Montale Dark Purple. It may lean to the middle but I love it. When I wear it out I never get enough of the scent. No one ever mentions it but it’s beautiful in its composition
One honorable mention I would've added is DH 2020. I just don't understand all the hate it gets.. It's versatile, fresh, citrusy and an all year round scent. I love it!
Yeah, I love it. Its Fragrantica rating is inching up though. People are still having a hard time dealing with the move from Iris, but 2020 will become a classic in time.
I'm speaking in terms of what's in my collection, but I think not enough people talk about Dior homme Eau for men. I still hear talk about homme, homme intense, and homme parfum, but nothing about homme Eau for men. I think it's a masterpiece. Every time I wear it, I fall more in love with the fragrance. It's one of the few fragrances that makes me smile when I put it on. I just can't stop going to pick up the bottle just to smell it from the atomizer more often than I do anything else. Also, I do agree that with light blue Sun being slept on. Honestly I liked it a lot more than light blue Eau intense, but everybody seem to rent and rave about the intense and now forever, but Sun holds a special place to me. Lastly, I do have interest in trying the fragrances you recommended from these lists. Will call my eye the most, was Black orchid parfum. I just got my hands on ombre leather and it was a game changer for me.
Man you are right i own antaeus, eau de cedre and eau des baux, i recently, tried the 3 of them in a famous perfume shop in Germany and got from the nice woman samples of them. I can guarantee you they have been the 3 watred down, antaeus that i have lasts all day long no joke the one i sampled i‘d say max 7 hours
Hey. Really appreciate you doing these videos. It has helped a lot. If you can also make videos if specific notes like frangipani or rose fragrance. Thanks a ton
I’ve been waiting to see people talk about fougere d'argent, phenomenal fragrance and I agree, I think it’s better than Beau de Jour. 100% slept on so thumbs up from me 👍🏼👍🏼
I am late to the party but there are a few fragrances that to me are fantastic. Lalique Encre Noire comes to mind, Issey Miyake pour homme intense is another one and finally from the round bottle family Mercedes Benz Intense is stunning.
I really like Maison Margiela Whispers in the Library & M. Micallef Osaito. Chopard Oud Malakiis also very nice. Also the whole Dunhill Signature Collection is really amazing!
The fragrance community often talks about Lalique's Encre Noire line, but I recently tried Equus and I think it's beautiful, easy to wear, and great value for the price.
Mentioned Armani EAU de Cedre in here is essentially version of this (yes Lalique was first) with little bit more dry and cool dry down then resinous Equus. I like them both but Armani is just way better quality.
I wouldn't say only Pulse of the night from Issey Miyake is not taken to front, but whole house. Ir has so good scents for affordable price. L'eau D'issey Pour Homme Or Encens. Oh man I love this one. Incense and rose in masculine version. This is one of not many rose frag I can pull of.
Antaeus in the deep drydown goes out with the softest caress. 10h later, it has evolved into the most beautiful skin scent. Not at all linear imho. Beautiful, timeless, as in not modern or old, it stands in its own parallel universe. It's a shame Fahrenheit has now been so diluted as it's on of my dream collection (which I do mostly own, but not at OG strength) of: Dior Fahrenheit, YSL Opium Pour Homme, YSL Kouros, Chanel Antaeus, Gucci Envy, CH 212 (original release, when you could still smell it). Opium pour homme though, sigh. It performs, it's unique, it's oriental spicy yet also has blackcurrent fruits. It's so beautiful, yet few acknowledge its existence. It's dying out, so I'm buying bottles up. I totally agree with Mancera Black Gold, it's incredible, I wore it today. Now, 15h later, I've applied a little Mancera Precious Aoud, which is a really beautiful sweet oud. My alternative to Red Tobacco is Montale Tobacco Oud, huge performance but much more crowd pleasing. It's a fun scent, almost could be a JPG in parts with a bubblegum kind of accord from the various elements. But the tobacco is sweet and non-threatening.
I can feel you with Fahrenheit being watered down these days, but I also miss Absolute version. Smokey, incense with resin myrrh and oud. Violet is more warm and powdery. Men what a scent this is. Parfum for me has no chance at all. Going to sweet vibe.
I doubt Pulse of the night is a fragrance people are sleeping on as it sells out instantly and can't be found anymore. Also Ginger Lover got it's fair share of praise and I would love to see an extreme or parfum flanker made out of it as the only thing preventing it getting in my top 10 fragrance of all time is it's performance.
Everyone mentions cool water but i sware i smelled the game on a friend and i was surprised how good it smells, immediately asked him what scent it was
Nice video as always man! I’ve tried Eau de nuit about a month ago and it is amazing! However, I think it has been discontinued, because it’s very hard to find, at least in Brazil, also the same for Pulse of the night.
Would sure be nice if there was a list of all these. I guess I'll get Raloh Lauren Polo Red since that is the only one i can remember without watching the vudeo multiple times. Please correct this oversight.
Nice vid. One fragrance I really like and no one talks about is annayake Miyabi. Give it some thoughts! Funny to see DC. I got sun and forever. The other one I love is the original DC pour homme. Have Cedre. Don’t like it that much. But also do a rating on eau d aromes. I love it, though someone commented it smelled like pencils ✏️😃
EAU dr Cedre from Armani is Lalique Equus on steroids with added tea note which give dry feeling instead of resin amber from Lalique. I love it and it's my go for spring and summer also. Need to get another big bottle as backup as I heard it will be discontinued.
please do a review on harrod because tragedy of lord george i hear smells soo amazing but the performance is extremely underwhelming especially for that price. think they said you get like around 5-6 hours at most.
Habibi New York Revere is such a great scent that gets slept on it's super appealing/ versatile and very affordable niche it's almost like Dior Sauvage with an amazing leather note definitely worth a sample🍻
thumbs up - for AZARRO POUR HOMME INTENSE, that fragrance is awesome smelling, picked up couple months ago for like 35 bucks 100ml, went back to site sold out, i need to grab a couple back up bottles, that good, worth 3 times the price, IMO
I haven't seen any popular fragrance channel talking about The Merchant of Venice, more specifically the Nobilhomo line. In case there will be some day in the future when you don't have an idea for a video, can you take a look and give us your opinion? It would really help, since I am really tempted to buy either Venetian Blue or Dalmatien Sage.
I am not sure that people really value the art of perfumery sometimes. I don't like Gucci Guilty line, in my opinion it is too generic. But there is one exception - Guilty Absolute - intense and well blended sharp leather based perfume, where the potent leather was empowered by earthy sharp vetiver and cypress. I personally prefer more intense and sharp perfumery regarding the leather note. So the fragrance is beautiful - blend made by Alberto Morillas. And I think many people don't know a lot about Serge Lutens perfumery. For example, Vetiver Oriental. Vetiver interpreted in oriental way in the blend with sweet gourmand chocolate and tonka notes. A masterpiece.
@@SchoolOfScent It was easier to find around 2 years ago, and now the ones I do find now tend to be expired. It did also go up in price a bit, so id say get it while you can
"oh day bow"; at first sniff I found it inexpressibly transporting, practically mystical, because of its initial frankinscence blast. Bought it on that impression. Big mistake. For me at least. It went all vanilla on me--yuck. I love vanilla in food but haven't the least desire to smell like it. Ended up using it as a room scent. Now, L'Occitane's Eau de Vetyver was a horse of a different color, my first great love in fragrances. What a tragedy they discontinued it.
Please bring back Giorgio Armani Eau de Nuit Oud 💎❤️. I love this fragrance and I don't have it :/ Belami Vetiver by Hermes is masterpiece for sure. Dior Homme is the best fragrance. Oud Minerale by Tom Ford is amazing. Van Cleef Arpels fragrances are great. I don't like Versace Dylan Blue😌 (Bleu de Chanel Parfum is the best one). Tom Ford Venetian Bergamot is gorgeous juice for me.
@@SchoolOfScent It looks like we have the same taste. It depends on whether you still love such fragrances as Giorgio Armani Myrrhe Imperiale and Killian Moonlight in Heaven.
Personally I loved Kenneth Cole Signature and I know it’s a personal opinion making it kinda overrated. Anyone able to advise me what scents are out there that it’s similar to?

Absolutely! Was close to adding it here!
I have that rn it’s 🔥🔥 and true no one talks about it
Agreed! Actually the fragrance that got me into fragrances in general
Agree. I tested the original a couple days ago and loved it. Really well blended citrus lavender scent.
I also really enjoy the Eau Sport

@@SchoolOfScent Do you all hate it because it isn't what DH used to be? Or because you don't like the overall performance/smell?
It has the Super Iso E molecule that some people are not a fan of..like me. The OG ones are the best
The naming is a strange choice, but mainly because it feels Dior tried to create their own version of Bleu De Chanel
Yeah, I love it. Its Fragrantica rating is inching up though. People are still having a hard time dealing with the move from Iris, but 2020 will become a classic in time.
One of your best videos so far, cheers!
Thank you Pedro 💯
I love every of the hidden gems that you show in this video. especially Antaeus and ysl Le Parfum are truly slept on fragrances!!!!!!
Clear winner for me is Bvlgari. Like pour homme, pour homme soir or au the rouge. Extremely good fragrances. Not just a smell, more like a feeling.
Fougere d’argent is an unreal fragrance, one of my favourites for sure. Love that it is so unique and that so few people have it.
When u said red tobacco is 24hr! done case closed that’s right up my alley especially for this winter season.🙂
Haha definitely for you then 😉👍

Oud for love is a masterpiece. I can't get enought to smell it. Unfortunately nobody talks about it

As you say people always talk about Cedrat Boise from Mancera. Imo Vetiver Sensual and Solil D'italie are better scents.
Guerlain Homme EDP is slept on. Everybody is focused on L'homme Ideal line.
Way better than f.ex. Versace pour Homme that is overhyped.

It went all vanilla on me--yuck. I love vanilla in food but haven't the least desire to smell like it. Ended up using it as a room scent. Now, L'Occitane's Eau de Vetyver was a horse of a different color, my first great love in fragrances. What a tragedy they discontinued it.
I would buy "pulse of the night" right away if I knew where to get it, but not at ebay. (too any scammer there)
dude is harrod discontinued??
Nisean by Parfums de Marly is underrated
Inthronisiert Herbae from L Occitan is a unisex masterpiece. Also Tobaco Oud from Montale is a masterpiece that’s gets little attention.
Will check both out! Is that really how the first scent is spelt? 😳
Prada Luna Rossa Black, my god it smells so unique but amazing
I agree,amazing perfume,love it
Please bring back Giorgio Armani Eau de Nuit Oud 💎❤️.
We seem to have similar taste Mariusz! 🔥
