- In this video John, Sarah, Alan and myself cycle the Upper Derwent Valley family route again. But, on this ride, to spice things up we ride it in the opposite direction to how we would normally tackle this trail.

Great video ,packed with useful information and great place.I love to go back there whenever I can. I have one question off topic, always wondered (as I'm walker rather than biker) why people don't use mudguards on their bikes?99%of the bikers have their clothes wet and dirty on their backs and a simple mudguard would solve that.Just curious about it :)thanks Kris
Hi and thanks for the feedback. I can only talk from my personal opinion on the mud guard thing, for the amount of time I get soaking wet or so dirty I don't think that the extra weight (negligible I know) and the bad aesthetics when they are on justify using them. Other rider's experience may be very different. Steve
Hi,Do you have any recent rides to post?
Hi Terry, currently I don't have any more finished rides ready to post. Steve
Will be tackling this fairly soon :)
Which way round would you say is the better route?
I'd say anticlockwise, leave the visitor center hit the road and head left down the road towards the A57.
Cycle Routes Cool, cheers :)
What camera are you using, going to have a go at this over the next few weeks I think.
@@moxymagic Is that to me or Cycle Routes? I'm pretty sure he uses a GoPro, I use a variety depending on the weather lol
When you go get there relatively early, I was there today and as I left at 12 nearly all the parking was full. ☺️
@@jugglerjim01 ye sorry it was to cycle routes.
Can you advise how long it roughly takes to bike around either way
Hi +Daniel Ambler, the route is around 14 miles, so 1.5 - 2 hours if taking it easy.
