5 Best Do-it-All Kites

- In this video, we'll break down 5 kites that really do everything well. We always talk about all around kites and we've covered quite a few. However, this list is aimed at kites that consider not only, jumping, looping and unhooking but kites that actually surf and foil well too.
This is an opinion piece so if we don't cover a brand or kite that you use, feel free to write about it in the comments! Also note, I don't feel these are the best kites period and I did not rank them in order. These are simply kites that fit the parameters of doing it all in a balanced way. Not leaning too far in any direction.

I'd love to see a head-to-head with the Reach and the Pivot or Supermodel (or all three). Especially when it comes to big air and looping.

Supermodel is shit at looping and generaly in big air
I've kited with a pretty big amount of kitebrands now but I absolutely love the Reedin supermodel, it's just so extremely good. I also have a board from Reedin (the super-E) and that one is also the best board I've ever had.
Something important to consider in this aspect for not professional guys like me would be maintenance and durability. If you want a Do-it-All is because you don´t have money to have more kites, please make a comparisson with this aspects.
Great work! Thank you. Note that I've been a big fan of the Rebel (2018), but can see how the Evo might be better for foiling, etc.
Great Op Ed, RyGo. 🤙🏽 Those do-it-all kites are a must have for riders who like to ride in varied conditions and with different types of boards. Love your RPM assessment as well. 😂 See you soon, my Brother.
If you do everything including unhooking then you'll probably notice differences in unhooking abilities the most, as with everything else you can sort of manage compared to trying to unhook with something that doesn't work all that well for unhooking. As I focus on looping and unhooking (depending on wind) I'm loving the FX and taking advantage of the settings, and when I feel like doing a hooked in trick it's not all that great but it definitely works more than fine.
If you don't unhook much, evo is an amazing kite which can still won't kill you unhooking. It's the #1 kite I'd recommend to beginners who want to buy a kite that is both a top beginner's kite, as well as a kite they can keep for a very long time - At least until they start to really specialize which might never happen.

Rygo, I've heard on the latest videos you talking about the versatility of the new Drifter, do you still think the Moto is a better option than it?
With the bridle setup on "off-shore" I thought it would be nice to ride on a twintip and enjoy the fast and light kite

After demo'ing a ton of kites, I agree - the RS was the best all around kite I had ridden up until 2 weeks ago. However, I just picked up a Switch Nano - it feels extremely similar to the RS but it seems to jump even better, and at half the price. I'm still in Switch's 60 day demo period, but I think this one is a keeper. It's just like the RS, but the switch bar is even better than the eleveight bar imo
For me, I just need a 10m Ozone Enduro v2. Insane in everything, covering as good as all conditions. Foiling starts at 9 knots, very good for freestyle and wave, and awesome for big air, loops so fast, even big air in 30+kn on short lines, this kite is mental.
I agree. Just bought the v3 and its phenomenal. It does everything and it does it well.

I will be riding only twin tip and want to cover 14 to 25 knots. I'm 80 kg. Which one do you recommend 10m or 11m Enduro? What was your Enduro's low end with twin tip? Thanks
@@tunakizal thats a big range for only one kite and twintip. Foil really opens a lot of possibilities. Depending on current etc: Low end twintip of the 10 would be 18/19kn. An 11 would have low end of 16kn. For 14kn you really need a 12. (11 would work for most of the times for you though: 16-25kn will be ok)

Spot on with your analysis on the Supermodel. ! It's good for looping, foiling drifts well in waveriding. Not as high jumper as the Rebel or Ozone Edge..... High end is not as good as 5 strut kite.....delta.

@@Berge1616 I love my prodigies as a do it all kite, though there are very few reviews or comparisons with other kites out there. I thought I'd ask as I know MACKiteboarding are also an Ocean Rodeo dealer.
Thinking of getting a new pivot. Mainly cause it has a skull and crossbones ☠️ on it but also cause it’s awesome.

How does the Pivot compare to Core XR6 for freestyle/big air?
All you have to do is look at the woo records if you want to know which one is best for big air, xr6 is phenomenal, I just changed from 2020 switchblades to core, it’s like going from Mercedes to Porsche,

We just started carrying it actually. I’ve not tried one since 2013. The crew is frothing on it though. I checked the shape out the other day and it looks like a it’s a fun kite. What’s your experience? - Rygo

Hugo Runge I actually could. In fact I think I’ll start working on that. The unhooked and waves will be easy. I’ll have to do some work in big air. There are so many different schools of thought for that. 🤔 - Rygo

Pretty difficult to unhook on the evo or pivot they don't generate any slack. Only the rpx on your list can do it all. I get feeling you haven't even tried unhooking with most of the kites on this list you just boosted hydrofoiled and rode waves and switched to the rpx to unhook
I actually have unhooked on the evo and pivot. That said, I don’t disagree with you. Rpx by far surpasses the rest in that area. Actually since filming this I now much prefer 5 line C’s over any 4 line for unhooked. One weird trend is brands keep making their “freestyle” kites more and more “do it all.” So they almost always lack in that area. And in contrast the actual do it all kites are in fact lacking but no one seems to notice or care 😞Sadly unhooked freestyle isn’t nearly practiced as much these days. What are you using mate? - Rygo

So evo is more of a 'do-it-all' kite than the Dice?
Mitsakos the Dice is more of a freestyle / non drifting wave kite. It also has lots of big air potential for experienced riders. Definitely tipped a bit more specific. Also my personal pick from the Duotone range. - Rygo

What do you thing about the f-one bandit?
Incredibly well-balanced kite for big air, unhooked, loops and some lazy freeriding. It's the one kite doing 95% of each and every discipline - which is way more than the average rider will ever achieve. 👍
spaRTan3246, totally agree with your comment. My experience too, plus the Bandit is good for foiling as well and not bad for waves even though F-One has the Bandit S for surf. I don’t get it why he is not considering the F-One Bandit as it is the quintessential do-it-all kite since years (probably one of the first ones of this kind).
Have you ever heard of OZONE KITES😂😂😂... Alpha.. Enduro... Reo kites😝😝.. Strange that you don't mentioned the best performance brand kite👍... Alpha is one og the lighter kite on the market single strut ND do it all.. I use it foiling.. Wave ruding.. And will jump hight enought 🌊👍🙏❤️
If Blade Kites was still up and running, I would definitely add their TRIGGER kite as a good all rounder to this list. Makes me wonder which company out there if any bought Blade's intellectual property ;-/

@@MACkiteboarding It's the best 3 struts kite I've used as allrounder. The kite is super reliable in all conditions and since 2020 you can tweak the bridles depending on your program.
I use a 10m as main kite with a foil from 8kt and working on wakestyle or big-air from 15kt. Its hang-time and overall feeling are amazing IMO
Except the Dice in strong winds the RS is the most pleasant kite I've touched..

Dif a do it all kite
They don't ever mention F-one on this channel. The same with Core. These are the five brands covered usually. I am pretty sure F-one Bandit and Core Nexus would easily beat most of these as do it all kites.
TheCelezar can’t beat nexus for all round, and the core bar is the best on the market,
They mention kites they sell and can test only. It's a business, but pretty good info on their sales range.

@@MACkiteboarding Het Rygo! I have read many reviews saying it's a very good(if not among the best) allround kite... I have Ozone kites mainly Catalyst V1 and Edge V10, the Ozone allround kite is the Enduro, I know is a good kite but never tryed
