Wyatt and I on a late season elk hunt using a Savage XP Compact 6.5 Creedmoor. #elkhunting #riflehunting #winterhunt Check out the Channel @The_Catalyst
Nice shot!! It’s so funny people say 6.5s can’t kill elk but it’s all about shot placement I just shot a cow last week at 680 yards double lung with my creedmoor. Hell of a shot bud
Good stuff. Those who haven’t hunted with youth in a while may have forgotten or not realize the challenges. So much work but so worth it. Love the big broadside cow at 240. “Ok, you see her?…. Nope”. Haha. Love it. Congrats to you both.
One might want to at least research regulations before criticizing. I may be wrong but it appeared he wasn’t hunting, only the youth. Therefore the orange is not required.
Hey man I live in lewistown and have had a hell of a time finding elk. Besides massive bulls in cow/draw only areas. Any tips or a way to contact you if you do guides.
Amazing Shot young man and what a great Hunt great Memory
So glad for you guys!

Not the best choice for elk but it'll get it done.
What kind of ammo were you using?
I’ve seen worse results with 300s and 338s. They react the same they don’t care what you use a dead elk is a dead elk
Thanks for sharing! It don’t get better then that! Can’t wait for my lil one, to start going out with me! God bless! And more to come!
Thanks for watching!

Yup. It can be a challenge, but I find myself loving it! Thanks for watching!
How does hunters orange work in Montana? Is it required?
Yes it is, 400 sq inches on upper body
7:22 you can see mine strapped to my backpack, but you don't have to follow my channel, but odds are good I won't notice you being gone.😢

Great job, and thanks for keeping the creedmoor pact going ! Only for competent shooters tho 🤫
I do agree, we personally cap the Creed (for elk) around 400 yards. Thanks for watching!
What ammo are you shooting?
@@chucklambert8431 I have 3 different 6.5 cm
So not a simple question
My elk loads I use a Nosler 150 gr
Deer or antelope Berger’s 130 vld
Sweet!! 👏 👏 👏
What ammo did you use? What grain?
What bullet did u guys use? Nice job
143 eldx
Great job. Not to be negative but safety first. Blaze orange is required.
We were wearing it. Just had it get torn so attached it to the backpack. Thank for watching!
@@The_Catalyst gotcha, just didn't notice it on the dad. Looked like a fun hunt.
What ammo did you use in that 6.5 Creedmoor?
We use a lot of loads for it, mostly custom loads, but this cow was shot with Winchester 125 grain Deer season xp
Excellent job using a round and bullet many guys wouldn’t recommend using on elk. Shot placement is number one.
Is this the sapphire mountains?
No sir.
👍👍👍👍🤝🇧🇬
