- Hi guys, I hope you enjoy these clips of me sparring with @GabrielVargaOfficial. Lots of work to do!! We spent a week going over a TON of techniques and mixed in a bunch of sparring sessions… this one was particularly fun!
The transitions from punches to kicks are so fluid. Keep 'em coming!

one word of advice, i take it your not left leg dominant but I would really focus on developing your left body kick its an essential weapon for any southpaw.
Your speed and lead leg dexterity is really nice so going to the body would definitely benefit your game going low and then coming high with a head kick so throw more jabs and crosses to the body!
something like something like jab body cross lead high kick.
and another thing you can do is parry the ooppenets lead hands and then throw the high kick

The speed at which you combo from punches to kicks is incredible! You did a great job especially against a world class opponent like Gabriel. My only advice to you would be to invest more in trying to catch kicks instead of just blocking them on your guard or moving out of range like you did here

That was a Gabriel special. He has sooo many tricks in the clinch.
@@PiperPikeMMA your lucky. Many of us here are self-taught just doing it in our garages and later transitioning to evening classes when we moved to a place that has a gym.

how much have you been training striking overall? Varga letting you work very nice here
Been training all aspects ( wrestling included now) for many years. Trying to find my own style that works for me…. Gabriel is a master at technique and the fight game for sure.
@@PiperPikeMMA was just thinking where that bladed non-moving style comes from. Sparred a few people who did TKD growing up and they also used way too much of those lead leg kicks that don't really do anything.
Fun to watch because you're doing things good and bad at the same time, I gotta come back in a year to see the improvements.
also are you a southpaw because of wrestling or actually left handed?
Keen eye you have! Kajukenbo is where I began. I’m a natural righty but my Sifu started me as a south paw from the beginning because of how important the front side is. I have had my battles not getting my leg beat up for sure. Gabriel taught me some pretty nifty ways to protect and attack that will help.
I’ll post some vids of these things as well.

What mats are you guys using? I have been looking for good mats for the house
The middle 2 are f from great mats. They roll up easily the other black ones are dollamur. Very heavy and durable.
