    I bought one from my local yarn shop last year. The lady who owns the shop was using it with her crochet when I was in stocking up. I love it. I set mine on a small table beside me (on my left) and its brilliant. Definitely worth the money.
    p.s I had the same fun building it then my son took it off me and built it in 2 seconds

    I got my wool jeanie and gave it 5stars, last week, and absolutely love mine. Its a genius jeanie. Keep the wool still on stand when resting so it doesn't unwind. Then on the magnet when working, I've just finished a whole project toy "huggy wuggy" and never once did I get yarn tangled or twisted. I wish I had been on your phone to talk you through the assembly as I was talking to my phone on how to assemble it, with my hubby telling me to be quiet 🤣. I thought it might fall over and was going to put a weight under neath the rim, as its on the windowsill slightly higher than my chair, but, no problems. It's fabulous. Hope you enjoy it Alison as I do mine. 😍

    My partner did it for me in 5 seconds :-D I love mine. And you can use it as the wooden one, too.
    Don't put it on the floor while crocheting, put it on the table.

      putting the yarn into a clean coffee can or an empty disinfectant wipes container works just as well as that and helps the environment by repurposing. Just put a hole through the can lid of cut a small piece from the rim of the lid for the yarn to cme through. The yarn can move well and it stays clean and safe from animals and small children

This is an honest to goodness review, I especially like that you didn't cut out the bit where you were trying to figure out how to put the magnetic one together. I think I'll buy that one. Definitely there are better quality wooden ones but you pay for the craftsmanship. I bought a handmade one that is beautifully smooth and made from three different types of wood. It's a work of art and works really well. I don't use it often as I tend to knit from the centre of the ball. The plastic ones looks interesting. At first, I thought it was going to be a nightmare of tangled yarn but I see how it doesn't tangle because it's hanging. Very clever.

I was surprised the wooden one had so many splinters on it! That’s terrible! I don’t blame you for returning it. Plus, it wasn’t very stable. It looks like the magnetic one is the best choice!

      @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel  7 месяцев назад +1

      i didn't try a heavy one like a one pounder. OK so i tried a large skein and it held for a while but got caught up at the top so I took the yarn from the middle of the ball and again it pulled off, I guess it could be the way i am pulling it up it swings around quite a bit to so i suggest just sitting the very large ones on the floor and using the yarn from the center of the ball that way it wont run around the floor.
