He has a point with the franchise player thing if that was the case Ablett Snr would have had a couple of flags reality is with 18 men on a field you need a team it's not like basketball where star power can win out even then thats by no means always the case but especially in footy you need a team that's strong.
Don’t expect the saints to do much this finals series and that’s ok. Ross is the future. Get a couple solid players and we will be right up there for several years!
Not a St Kilda fan but wouldn't it be kool if Ross and the Saints wins it from outside top 4? That I'd like to see. Plus it's their 150th anniversary I heard and that's making a statement there.
The Saints could do with a marquee player like Bailey Smith, they have the nucleus of a solid list but like Ross says, you need special players to go deep in September. For whatever reason, it's been slim pickings for the Saints in the past decade or so with that star dust required to market the club and win big finals

Saints were the biggest surprise package for me despite having injury problems. Lyon proved himself when he had plenty of doubters.
Watched him in game 1, he was obviously back "in his element" and radiated confidence. What a pro.
