In the winter you will lucky to get about 16 miles on electric drive. Poor considering the claimed mileage when I bought the car was 37. Therefore I need to charge the car everyday. Now here’s the funny thing, in London it costs between £18-£22 to charge the car, and you can do about 16miles with that. However if you put £18-22 petrol in the car you can do about 130 miles! So what’s the bloody point of charging? So now I only use the electric to climatise the car before I get in, and use full petrol mode for my commute.

Don't get me wrong, I love the Alfa, however the 3 series has, and will always be, the benchmark in the mid sized sports sedan segment. Also, I'm pretty sure M3 will be better than the Quadrifoglio.
Natural BB drive one, last Gen M3 wasn’t even close to the way the Alfa drives, the Giulia feels like it has passive rear steer so it always verges on the side of oversteer, its steering is perfection and designed by people who care more about the driver than lining their pockets, BMW have nice shiny gadgets and a shed tonne of marketing weight behind them
Sam Jones funny you say that, Giulia and Stelvio just won whatcar performance saloon and SUV of the year 😂 plus my Giulia has hit 27k trouble free miles, funny when A45’s and Golf R/S3’s flood the market and have no dynamic prowess about them, I’ll give BMW their dues for being RWD but then they ruin it on their performance models with heavier raised power trains to fit the X drive into, heck the new M3 is touted to be ruined with X drive too, it takes away from the ultimate performance and balance of the car
I have driven the M3 CS and the Quadrifoglio, and I can tell you there is a massive difference. The CS was like driving a go cart in comparison to the Alfa. On our track in Alastaro I would guess the CS is about 5 sec faster. They are totally different class and actually the CS felt even more powerful. Dont believe the 460hp at all, felt more like 550.
Peter Hammer the Costa’s on the QF are a big factor, if you don’t get the temps into them then the performance is a bit held back but folks testing the PS4S’s have had amazing results on the road, with regards to the CS I know that’s a fast machine but it’s about £20k more than the Giulia and runs a LOT of the gear from the M4GTS(which is only 4 seconds faster around the Nurburgring) what tyres are on the CS? I know they made huge changes to them but given the head to heads I’ve seen between Giulia and the Comp Pack M3/4’s I’d say it’s very track dependant as to which has the upper hand but I’ve never heard anyone find a normal M3 to be remotely as good to drive, the M3 has a very strong front end but the back isn’t as complex nor does it gives that feeling of the whole car being used and rotating in a corner that the Giulia does
It looks really cool, but bmw needs to understand that bm drivers give exactly precisely zero fucks regarding the rear passenger comfort. Make it shorter and smaller size of e46 and it becomes a gem 💎😘
I think reliability is the only major problem BMW have. The E60 520d Best motorway cruiser maybe to this day but at the same time on of the most unreliable cars with the infamous Timing Chain fault.
I drove the Giuliani and I think it’s much sportier and extremely crisp steering. Almost too responsive. It’s a bit more cramped inside. Seats not as comfortable and interior a bit too exotic for my taste. If it came in a manual I might have gotten it though. I got the 330i instead because it’s more comfortable, almost as sporty.
BMW is not anymore the ultimate driving machine. It feels a lot more artificial nowdays. I don’t see why I would buy this over its german rivals. Last but not least, with all this new technology its reliability will suffer even more.
This BMW is supposed to change all that, something you can sort of see in the American market 2 series (save the horrible steering). Of course, you'd have to test drive it first since what auto writers say ("oh my God, this 6000 lb. Escalade handles like a Miata!") and reality are often quite different.
rear lights are terrible, the little jag in the headlights cheapens the look of the car. bmw's design language has suffered in the past few generations of vehicles.
What a pity BMW finally refreshes their interior after waiting so many years but still looks dated especially the dashboard when compared to the latest from Merz & Audi virtual cockpit
BMW:s new interior is really good looking. Actually a lot like Audi. Merc is a catastrophy with that 50" screen glued to the dash as tnn kyc already pointed out
My advise is, stay away of this brand, i have a 2016 i120 with 26,000 miles and 6 months after the warranty expired started with engine triouble, and to make a long story short, they had to replace the engine head, and to be fair after a long fight, they gave me 60% discount in parts and labour, but the dealer didn´t honor this discount and charged for the labour almost full price, and BMW did nothing about this. The cost of the repair was $2,800.00 USDThis company doesn´t really stands after their products, this experience showed me that. I will definetly don´t buy the new 1 series.
And here comes the barrage of BMW haters. Who, quite frankly can never afford to buy one.
I know they made huge changes to them but given the head to heads I’ve seen between Giulia and the Comp Pack M3/4’s I’d say it’s very track dependant as to which has the upper hand but I’ve never heard anyone find a normal M3 to be remotely as good to drive, the M3 has a very strong front end but the back isn’t as complex nor does it gives that feeling of the whole car being used and rotating in a corner that the Giulia does
nice review
I love it. What a gorgeous beast.
Don't compare Skoda to BMW :)
Best review of the new 3 series, thanks a lot!
Great review! Is this the Mediterranian blue colour?
It looks really cool, but bmw needs to understand that bm drivers give exactly precisely zero fucks regarding the rear passenger comfort. Make it shorter and smaller size of e46 and it becomes a gem 💎😘
Where's Becca!
I think reliability is the only major problem BMW have. The E60 520d Best motorway cruiser maybe to this day but at the same time on of the most unreliable cars with the infamous Timing Chain fault.
Best in class handling? And no mention of the Alfa Romeo Giulia. Bizarre review.
Many reviewer said that G20 handle the best so far. I kinda believe it, its bimmer anyway. Their steering rack is magic
But is it better than Alfa Romeo though? Which according to most is the best.
@@waverunner7063 overall? Not sure. But handling? Definately bmw > alfa romeo or any car basically
Alfa is a female. So among these males like Audi, Merc and BMW just doesnt fit.
Is there something not "perfect" in this car ???🤔
Usually chassis in BMW cars have been mediocre (look at km77 channel) but of course gives "the drivers car" a whole new meaning. ;)
That rear end looks exactly like the Lexus IS!
good review
I guess the dude havn't tried a Guilia yet
He tried, but it was in the service 😉
I do love the Alfa Quadrifoglio. Still, I'm looking forward to the new M3 though. What a magnificent time to be alive!

Berca Vlad bmw are not that reliable either. I assume this new generation will be even less reliable.
comprehensive great vid. expensive car but very grown up now 🚗🚗🚗
rear lights are terrible, the little jag in the headlights cheapens the look of the car. bmw's design language has suffered in the past few generations of vehicles.
Romulus I don't agree
bluwng if anything imo the design language improved drastically
you can get your car parked by the computer, but you cannot get your seatbelts with a correct height. truly premium.
Great presenter
Min. 4.43 ho sentito degli scricchiolii. Siamo a posto....
8:37 holly fuck ive seen better stitching on a fake 5 dollar Chinese handbag
They need to Kate one that takes regular gas
german cars are the best At all .wow
How about A3
Doug the type of guy to... oh wait, not this Doug
I like the pedals location
He clearly doesn't know about the new tax laws for diesels.... Diesel will not gross sales for the UK lol
What a pity BMW finally refreshes their interior after waiting so many years but still looks dated especially the dashboard when compared to the latest from Merz & Audi virtual cockpit
John Tan hate to break it to you. Mercedes is more outdated than any VW on sale today, beaten in terms of technology also.
Dude the merc and audi looks more dated
Yawn, another BMW hater on a BMW review. Well there's a shocker
So you like merc's interior with that cheap looking tablet seemingly attached with glue on the dash.
BMW:s new interior is really good looking. Actually a lot like Audi. Merc is a catastrophy with that 50" screen glued to the dash as tnn kyc already pointed out
3 years warranty on a £35k car
Why don't you even nominate Alfa Romeo Giulia?
Cos reliability
@@Arman-nl6mg you are very funny
Because BMW is better than Giulia, simple.
Great review but he says "actually" a bit too much
how's this on a 2018 plate lol
Jaguar what???
My advise is, stay away of this brand, i have a 2016 i120 with 26,000 miles and 6 months after the warranty expired started with engine triouble, and to make a long story short, they had to replace the engine head, and to be fair after a long fight, they gave me 60% discount in parts and labour, but the dealer didn´t honor this discount and charged for the labour almost full price, and BMW did nothing about this. The cost of the repair was $2,800.00 USDThis company doesn´t really stands after their products, this experience showed me that. I will definetly don´t buy the new 1 series.
Buy a Toyota, lease a German car.
very very nice
