I purchase the white wash cloths from walMart that come in packs of 12 for $5.00 then crochet a simple picot stitch around them. They make great face cloths as a gift or for baby wash cloths when added to a blanket, boots, etc.
I do put a border on some blankets but I’d like to try these.
I like the edge on fleece, but I haven’t tried it yet.
I use the blanket stitch mostly but like poking a hole in towel. Really enjoy your this or that.
I have done the hole technique but not much. Your video has made me think that I wish I would have ask my grandmother and great grandmother how they did theirs while they were still alive. The things they done were beautiful. Also my Daddy talked about his grandmother doing tatting on her items.
My grand mother did tatting also.
Love the shell stitch around the blankets!
Hi Sara!
Yes I like to add crochet to fabric. It's adds a special finishing touch. 😊🌹
I like the blanket stitch. Thankyou, Sara
Hey, I have done blanket stitch. I've poked holes in towels for crochet. I look forward to seeing the videos. 😊 I'd like to know more about hole tools. Lol
Sara ,I have done a lot of dish towels with crochet toppers . I use a doul to make my holes in my towels . But you showed me a technique for the bottom of towels. I have done the holes and I would like to do the blanket stitch for the bottom of the towels. I'm going to start doing dish towels for Christmas. 😊❤🎉
I have not tried any of the the techniques you talked about. I would be interested in how to do all of them. Thanks Sara for making videos to teach different techniques.
I have never tried any of these things, but I am looking forward to learning how to do them.
I have wanted to do some of this and never have so I am excited to learn these techniques, and the modesty tutorial which I have been wanting! Thanks!!
I do not fool with fabric. Thanks❤
All these techniques are great but I like the blanket stitch best. Thanks Sara!!! Be Blessed 🤗💕🥰
I have not crocheted any fabric. I've always wanted to learn how!
I like them all 🥰 it's nice to be able to choose depending on what you want to do. Always love to watch your videos!
I totally agree!
I've never tried any of those methods of adding crochet to fabric, but looking forward to the videos
I did that back in the 70s crocheted onto one of my mom’s dish towels back then I didn’t think of it ever going anywhere
Good day Miss sara enjoy your this or that which is so useful. I am going to trim some of my hand towel looks so nice. Thank you for your video's
Mb was here love this
I've always poked the hole and crocheted right into the towel. I am looking forward to the series in Sept. I have some bath towels that need a bit of new life to them. This will be a perfect time to do this. Thank you.
I love adding a border to blankets, you can dress up a blanket so quickly fir a last minute gift. i love the trim on the bottom of the top.
Yes, My fave go-to quick baby blanket is to add a border to fleece - i tried to do it with just a needle, but I use a rotary switch stitch blade. I would love to try other methods! Thanks, Sara.
I love them in blankets dish towels they add a special details to it thanks 🙏🩷get better 🙏👍👋
Thanks for sharing!
I haven’t done a crochet trim. I am looking forward too seeing how you make it happen. Thank You
Thank you for the inspiration it sure has my mind turning.cant wait to see your new videos
I have tried crochet on fabric. Maybe I'll give it a try😊
Great timing! I asked for some Fiskars perforating rotating scissors for my birthday because I want to try crochet trim! Love it!
I love doing the blanket stitch method. I have sewn a crochet piece (lace) on, not a fan. Never tried poking holes. Might have to try that. I like the idea of putting lace on a quilt. Have arthritis in my hands so I can’t work with thread anymore. I use to make doilies.
In all my years of crocheting I had never crocheted on fabric until recently when I asked you in comments if I could tweak your crochet collar pattern to make short sleeves longer. I tried it with crochet thread first and didn't really like it so I frogged that and did it with a 3 wt yarn in a coordinating color and I love it! I'm thinking about adding a crochet hem to that top also. I think it will look more like it was made that way in the beginning. I'm not comfortable in too short sleeves so I'll be using this technique many times. Thank you Sara for teaching me this!❤❤❤
Yes I love crochet trim on fabric. The V neck tees you added crochet to I loved. I have a dress I love but it is really to short and I am thinking of adding a crocheted lace to the bottom.
I haven't tried to do this but looking forward to it
Funny we were just talking about this. It depends on the project but mostly use blanket stitch. Look forward to seeing what you have planned 🙂
❤i have done sew lace on top but never done crochet on fabric this will bd fun to learn thanks
I have done both the blanket stitch method and the poking holes method. It all depends on what the fabric is that I'm adding to. I have been making the hanging towels for many years. Used to always poke the holes in the towel but with a thicker towel I find it easier to do the blanket stitch.
Thank you for this! When I saw you add to the neck line of your black dress, that was great. I look forward to a tutorial video on that because so many tops and dresses I order end up with huge neck holes, and they are so frustrating. I also prefer short sleeves that are on the longer side, that go closer to the elbow, so adding crochet trim to sleeves would be great. This is awesome. I’ll be excited for any tutorials on adding trim to things. I’m going to go watch your link on adding trim to blankets. This is so helpful, than you. Now I need to figure out a sewing machine. I’ve never been good at that. I’ll have to give it a try again sometime.
@@mdnitewind7004 I’m so glad. I think it will be a fun series.
I have not tried any of these, yet, but I will be very soon. I have that little wheel you mentioned to make a perforated stitch that I can then crochet into the fabric for the pillows I want to make. I look forward to the tutorial you have coming up.
Edging fleece blankets for Project Linus. We use a skip blade to make the holes. Works very well:) Thanks for the great video😊
That's it. I could not remember what it was called! Thank you!
I have never done this but it looks interesting
I have not tried it yet , but might after your videos
Yes, I have tried it on blankets. I used a rotary cutter that has a little dots. Where it leaves the holes? It works the best. Thank you so much for sharing
I’ve crocheted borders on blankets. Would like to make your towel. Found a 1970’s mag where they show a blanket with fabric circles made into squares by adding three rows of crocheted granny stitches.
I have done the blanket stitch and used the rotary hole cutter to be able to crochet right on a fleece blanket. I recently purchased a dress and want to make the modesty triangle and would like to add some length to the bottom. Actually it is the same dress your daughter purchased for you with the granny squares around the waist. It is sort of a slick material so I’m assuming it would be best to use the sew on method for it.
I haven't done it yet but a couple towels to add trim to. I think I prefer the stitching into the fabric. But until I try it I won't know😅
I've only done the blanket stitch on dishtowels.
Hi Sarah. I really enjoy putting trim around items, but don’t do it a lot. Am wondering where one would purchase a wheel to do the holes. This might be easier for someone who cannot measure the holes. Anyway, I made a couple of hanging towels, which everybody loves, and once I made a doily and put the trim around, a piece of denim. It made the best oily. Thanks for the video. Still loving the music.
It's called a skip blade anyplace that sales sewing supplies like Hobby Lobby, Joann's and Walmart.
Have not done any but would like to see how you do it.
A tracing wheel used to transfer onto fabric will make holes evenly if the fabric is not too thick...I've done all techniques you mentioned
The tracing wheel makes small cl9sed holes, but i have a rotary blade cutter that you can change discs, and one of options i bought will put holes in the fabric farther apart than a tracing wheel
I like all of them; but, my favorite is the blanket stitch. My question is: If you add beads can it be washed in the washing machine? I know that I wouldn't be able to put the it in the dryer; because; melting. I just never had added beads; because, I just wasn't sure about it. Thank you for time and patience's. God Bless!!!
It depends on the beads you choose, but usually you wash on gentle and hang to dry.
@@SaraSach thank you for the information
❤❤😊
I've used the blanket stitch and the poking holes. I've put lace on many pair of pillowcases by poking holes and using size 10 crochet thread. I prefer the poking hole method because I hate to do the blanket stitch. I've never made the lace and then sewn it on because I don't trust my math skills. I know I would make a mess of the measurements and then my lace would not fit right.
I really have not done any of them. Honestly adding a trim to fabric doesn’t interest me. But I enjoyed looking at the different ones that you’ve done!
I’m not a fan. I don’t have much fabric and I really don’t want to fall down that rabbit hole! I have no room! I have put sleeves and modesty piece on a tank top. Didn’t like it.
No .do not like doing it .
