The place is open to general public, provided you rent an apartment for a weekend and you can access the lagoon. But some of the individual property owners are against this and protests about the noise from the temporary renting tenants.
Lived there from before the lagoon was finished. The management is terrible, they make up rules as they go. The electrical issues forced us out, as far back as I could remember we had power issues, from thefts to faults. Then the Fibre issues started and then water issues, then noise issues, then Air BnB, it never stopped, there was even a damn riot in and around the estate. It was an absolute shit show of a place. Wouldn't move back there if you paid me to.
That last point is the reason why I never bought. I was highly tempted to buy a property there, because I would really love to be able to use that pool. But the area was a big no no for me. Right next to the townships. Everytime there's protests, then you're being held hostage in the development. No thanks. In South Africa, safety is the primary concern.
i give it 10 years then it will look like a squater kamp and the lagoon will be a frog pond and they will be selling frog leg meat straight from the beach.
There's always one. When last did you visit Gauteng? have you seen the growth and Development? Sorry to burst your bubble but its on the up, I challenge you to tag me in ten years.
Is this a private or state owned. Last time I check Ramaphosa provided Billions for unkown city. And we were told that these laggons will be for Gauteng people rich n poor but I am asking myself if it said you will only able to use big pool only if you have weekend rented a houses. That means this is nolonger for people but certain rich individuals and ask then why Billions were spent for people who can afford to go coastal without any problem.

instead of focusing on bridging the gap between the poor and the rich , people are busy building useless lagoons .We are officialy the most unequal country in the world for crying out loud .
Absolutely. Across the road from this lagoon live the poorest of the poor in shacks. NPO's assist the people in Mamelodi and Nelmapius to survive. Only a very few live like it is portrait in the video.
Instead of concentrating on rebuilding country's infrastructure i.e. electricity grid, water supply etc. you waste resources on a useless project that will do little to improve lives of ordinary people.
@@jiritoman7563 What don't you keyboard warriors understand about Private Development? This has nothing to do with government and just because there are poor people in the same City does that mean absolutely no one deserves to enjoy a high quality of life? The funny thing is this is not even in the top range of upmarket developments. This is literally average urban development that you find throughout Midrand, Cape Town and Durban. Rich people don't live in apartments lol - This is for working class people that have regular 9-5 jobs.
@@Rocketafrique you said: Rich people don't live in apartments lol - This is for working class people that have regular 9-5 jobs. @@jiritoman7563 nah bud. I'm not talking about middle class people with a healthy savings account. I'm talking really rich people. I only wish they made it a hotel development rather than a residential development. Now, you have to actually move there in order to make use of it, and they've build it in not the best area in Pretoria.

I think they should build more luxurious apartment units to mix, otherwise they are adult res.

Can J take yacht into a lagoon orrr is ìt just for swimming 🏊♂️??
What about security patrols? Crime is huge in Gauteng - even in wealthy areas. Life guards are essential with water sports?
You clearly dont even live here. LOL
i like your accent
I’m from Durban South but I’d love to own a property here too .
at least one can swim without worrying about sharks, ocean creatures
