  • After an already impressive road to the final, Lin Yun-Ju overcame Ma Long to win the WTT Champions tournament in Frankfurt. Here's my take on the match.

    Thanks for watching! I know about the framerate, it's not a question of editing but moreso a matter of me being cheap and not spending a few bucks on a 50 or 60fps screen recorder. Maybe I will soon...

    I had an opinion that the best backhand player of all times was Grubba. To me he was better than Persson, Kreanga, Rosskopf, Karakasevic. Lin yun ju is the first one who has probably a better backhand than Grubba to me.

      Uf those were different playing styles..and eras, Lins backhand is optimal for a plastic ball

    Small one from me but i noticed recently Lin Yun Ru started varying his recieve a lot more sometimes changing his bat angle last minute to touch short instead of flicking, which seems to add so much more pressure as before often people would wait a bit off the table wnd get comfortable in expecting the flick to counter it

      Yes, in this match he also did that a few times, but he made the mistake of moving back too much. Therefore, when Ma Long pushed short one more time, LYJ was almost always caught by surprise.

    Great analysis. Maybe you can try to develop your editing skills because the video of the players is quite laggy. Also sound would ad a lot but perhaps was not used because of copyright claims? Looking towards to step-around video though

    Hi Oleg!
    Can you please make a video or tell me about training routine and how can we aproach it?
    Im interested on what drills, and the training should look like overall and other considerations.
    Thx!

      First of all, Olav*
      Second of all, there is not just 1 general answer on how to practice. It depends on your schedule, how much your body can handle, what your goals are, what opportunities/facilities you have to go and practice,...
      Same goes for exercises: there isn't a clear-cut answer where you are only allowed to play x amount of exercises.

    Hi Olav. Can you do a video on every racket grip there are? I want to know if mine is an original that I've been developing for the past few months because I don't like any of the existing ones: shake-hand, pen-hold, Seemiller, V, Archer, Hybrid, pistol, sword. Are there any others that you know? Thanks.

    • @OlavKTTT
      @OlavKTTT  8 месяцев назад

      I don't know what you mean with 'developing' your own grip, but it doesn't sound like a good idea. If, for example, you would use one of the regular grips but hold your racket a little bit looser, a little firmer,... i.e. same, but different, that would be no problem. + I haven't heard of 90% of these grips you named. Maybe that's the language barrier, but some of them sound a bit dodgy/not legit

    • @cuongtkong58
      @cuongtkong58 8 месяцев назад

      @@OlavKTTT What I mean is that I've been working on a new (?) or different way to hold my racket that doesn't look anything like the shake-hand, pen-hold, or any of the other grips I've mentioned. Besides the first 3, the rest are experimental and unproven. And since there are not that many videos about them on RUclips, I thought you might know more about them than I do. But you've never even heard of most of them, so never mind about me asking you to do a video on them. Thanks for replying, though.

      @@OlavKTTT Because players have been suffering from the powerful and speedy strokes of wang chu qin, but it was the first time recently that he lost against a power battle.

    I recommend you look back at 2023 GOA WTT games. Look how LIN Yun-ju played LIN Shidong. If you analyse both players, their feet positioning are similar. I am not overawed by LIN's win over MA Long, even though MA Long is the Goat in many people's mind.
