Known and fell in love with him first on My Girl even if he's not the lead. Just this year, I have watched Scarlet Heart Ryeo and shocked to know that he's the same man I love from My Girl. So my standards has been consistent for so many years. Lol. Now, I'm trying to catch up what I have missed all these years. Done with Scarlet Heart, Flower of Evil, The King and the Clown, Virgin Snow, and Fly Daddy Fly. Gosh! Imagine he's 20 years in the showbiz already..
@@summerbear93 Return of Iljimae isnt season 2 of Iljimae. Iljimae was based on a Korean story. Two TV stations made Kdramas of the Iljimae story in the late 2000s. SBS made the Lee Joon Gi version in 2008. MBC’s Return of Iljimae was Jung Il Woo version 2009. There was an Iljimae also in the 1990s starring Jang Dong Gun

I missed the perspective of watching this show as a kid. Iljimae was so hot and handsome as a thief, I used to dream I will one day be able to steal like him. Now that I look back, I realised what a depressing show it's actually was for such a young me. That's so many heart wrenching moments, coupled with those sad osts... This show will forever be the most memorable and precious one for me, no matter how many years had passed, and no matter how many new dramas came out.

She longed to see Iljimae's face whom she knew was her first crush in her childhood days and was ready to live until her last with the remembrance of that face, loving him more and more. There was yet another girl of the name Bong Soon. She and Iljimae had a short term connection in their childhood. They kind of fought each other when they grew up not knowing each other. When she found out who he really was, she wanted to be his bride. Later when he realises who she is, his guilt feelings convinces him to take her as it was because of him that the child Bong Soon lost her brother. Its hard to tell whom he preferred in the end. Because his first love was ofcourse this noble young lady whom he admired and loved a lot. But the other girl risked her life, jumped from a cliff with little hope of surviving, to protect Iljimae. The noble lady was the daughter of his enemy and he already bid farewell to her prior to his last attempt of "burglary". He even went that far as to say he was merely using her for information and didn't seriously love her. The drama doesn't really say whom he chose. After 4 years the noble lady still sticks onto his memory. The other girl comes back to the village and meets his biological and foster mothers. I'm sure Iljimae survived but it doesn't show if his closest acquaintances knew of this. I wish he married this lovely lady.
