He straight up bluntly said "Release a xiao lantern with me." Like way more direct and romantic imo. Istg even the developers knew exactly what they were doing when they added xiao x traveller content.

Thank you. I finished Lantern Rite a few hours before it was going to end and figured that meeting with Xiao just wasn't going to happen due to it not being in the quest. I wish I had done some research and seen it myself, but im glad that I got to see this at least.
I don’t know if it’s specifically in china, but those lanterns are often showed with that meaning. Such as in the movie Tangled from Disney, where there’s a whole meaning behind them that’s portrayed and the protagonist releases one with her future BF.

@@karolinamiklos4060 i found the problem now, you have to complete ‘trail for pervases’ to meet him, it’s a small quest. I think you can start it from the little house in front of the place where you meet Xiao
I’m playing as Aether and I do ship them so after the quest I searched for Xiao every where since he did tell us to meet him. I was crying kicking my feet rolling down my bed when they lift that light. My heart is blessed every lantern rite 😩 (they were extremely cute last year too and I got Xiao at 13 pity right after that)
