It was great docmenty about my five times cousin Fred archer, it was my grandad how told me about Fred from his uncle, the interest in horse's has continued through to my daughter how now lives in Cheltenham, back to the family root's,,where it all began.
Very good film. Especially the Lewes bit, where he had 52 winners. The sign at the Racecourse was donated by our Group (Now called the Lewes Racecourse History Group), for the 50th Anniversary of the closure of the course.
What a wonderful history of my Great Grandpa, I would loved to have spoken to you about him, if anyone wants to read about his personal life I wrote a love story called Fred Archer Just One More Smile, by Diana Reynolds, I really enjoyed documentary thank you
My Condolences to you and your Family I just wish you could have follow in both of your Great granddad footstep and rode horses in either jump racing or flat racing so the world could remember the Archer's bloodline has retuned to racing and could have mad history Bill Archer or Fred Archer either way you could have brought great memory even thought we where not in the great Era the stories could have been great
Marty T thank you so much, I’ve just heard they are going to show this at the museum Newmarket, so hopefully I can have a hundred books for sale to go with the showing !, a film I dream all the time !!!
Diana Reynolds Hi Diana, I was fascinated by your book ,and I have just read the life of Fred Archer, and I am currently awaiting the book by HM Humphries,in regards my Great Uncle ,The Life Of Mathew Dawson,I had a short Reply from a recent email I sent to Sir Mark Prescott ,at Heath house Stables,I trust all is well with you cousin and your family This was a fascinating and well done Documentary ,I would like to see his life in a mini series similar to Downton Abbey,or a movie
@@jimmymalone9139 oh I so agree your all the best, and G Grandpa would have so loved to have come back to Ireland, but alas it wasn’t to be , dianafoster333@icloud.com
nicely researched and the Dave Yates is always very engaging. but visually a bit ropey - like a very low budget WW2 one you'd see on the history channel.
Pity about awful background noise ruins the video please remove drivel accompaniment when you speak hard to hear commentary with stupid music get rid please.
One of the best horse racing documentaries of recent years
Great documentary

Hello Diana, I would love to come and visit, if you could tell me the details of where I need to go. Kind regards 🙏
amazing
how about George Fordham who died the same year great rivals
I hoe they make more documentary of horses racing industrial
Referring to the Derby as the “colts’ classic” is inaccurate . The race is also open to fillies .
Did they say that in the video?
16.03 - a crocodile?
super sad xx
