People go on about aiden obrian being a great trainer but Vincent obrian was the greatest of all time! Nobody else comes close to the genius of this man! 😊
A real master of the art of horse training and racing let his name be remembered and he be respected as long as there’s horse racing in the world tribute to a legend his biography must be an inspiration to future horse trainers
A genius in every respect he put balldoyle and coolmore on the global map he also seen the the talent in the great northern dancer before anyone else 🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎
A fantastic video on an amazing trainer. I do take exception to his son boldly proclaiming that "Had Nijinsky fractured a pastern, nobody would have ever heard of Northern Dancer". This is a total joke. The Dancer was the leading sire in North America in 1971. The latest any of those horses could have been bred is 1968 one year BEFORE Nijinsky made his debut. OBrien definitely saw the potential for sure, but The Dancer was headed for greatness with or without him.
Such a shame these days racing has got into , I remember year's ago in uk betting shops punters could tell you things they had worked out just by studying results and training patterns. . I can remember Vincent O'brien saying after the minstrel won the Derby that he thought the minstrel would win the Derby, the person interviewing said when did feel confident he would win the Derby, Vincent replied "Wednesday " because that's when Lester finally agreed to ride it 😂. Apparently Lester had several irons in the fire and was watching the weather forecasts before committing to any 1 horse.
😊😊 Willie Mullins Has to be up there at this stage , considering the level of excellence the top trainers are operating, with science , research, et al 😊😊😊
@@user-pw2bo5hg8t you mean, did it! Records will often be broken at some point. But you're obviously not old enough to know of Vincent O'Brian and the magic of horseracing at that time. Horseracing was so much more fun back then. I really miss that era. And they did it back then, without as much science, they just knew horses and how to get the best from them. I miss Vincent and Lester, they were untouchable
Not an overstatement to say that he's the greatest Figure in Horse Racing history

Great impersonation
Because time will go on and on and on someone will come along and make Vincent look like an amateur one day .
That’s very unlikely
@@HorseRacingLegendsjust like it was unlikely for any jockey to go through the card at ROYAL ASCOT, Frankie came along and done it .
@@user-pw2bo5hg8t Frankie never done that at Royal Ascot. It was an Ascot September meeting.
