Marluxia slamming his scythe into the ground at 6:23 reminds me a lot of his Drop Shot sleight from Re:COM. Also, at 1:52, that actually looks a lot like his Bloom Out Limit from 358/2!
This fight is for me the most beautiful, the elegance of Marluxia with the petals next to his concept of death that he carries, in addition to all the visual effects being extremely refined. I never saw anyone talking about how beautiful that attack that goes up a huge skull during his DM, which impressed me.

I really prefer these relatively simple but technical battles over stuff like Dark Riku, where he slashes his sword once and creates 50 energy explosions, 70 darkness mines, and 100 bursts of unblockable lightning spread out over the next five minutes.
This fight is just incredible. One of my favorite fights in the series- mechanically interesting and fun, some of the coolest effects in the game, and a worthy remix of one of the greatest final boss tracks of all time.

I honestly can’t remember why I did Xehanort so early lol I think I saw the teeth of the keyblade of heart in one of the attacks and just had to take a closer look
The blossom of death, Marli's fight has incredible references and nods + it's a fun fight to play against P.S: the doom counter hidden quote is this: "No good! Your heart will be bound with shackles!" a little reference from Re:CoM when he uses the Doom card

I'm a newcomer to KH; I've been playing every game and after having his data battle be a complete pushover in 2FM its SO cool and refreshing to see this new one, your vid really helped me learn him and have a TON of fun with this battle, it's one of my favs thus far! It's very similar. Circle Reject has Spectre tapping the handle of the scythe on the ground, but the petals spreading out in a ring is pretty much the same
On the subject of what Marluxia says to Sora when he casts doom, I like to imagine he's actually saying something like "You're already too late..." or "You're already dead," cause when you think about it, he is literally casting an effect on you that guarantees your death unless you find some way to dispel it, which in the case of our own enemies in bbs and other FF games when you cast doom on then, is impossible.

You know what would've been a nice little addition to the boss? Where if the countdown hits zero, rather than the usual Game Over sequence, a cutscene plays where Marluxia shouts "Your heart shall be judged!" and summons the Specter from Re:CoM, who then slices at Sora with her scythe. It would've been both a neat call back to Re:CoM and a nice little nod to Strelitzia, Marluxia, or rather, Lauriam's sister.
im fairly sure every instince of marluxia having armor well he is physicly there is possible to throw a fire at him even in the early part of his 1 HP DM being able to be ended with a really high number when he apears for a split second to throw a unblockable
Marluxia’s data fight was definitely one of the easier fights in kh3 remind limit cut. He and larxene really felt like pushovers compared to everyone else! But not in a bad way! Lol
I need help understanding the first DM. if I play it safe and hit only when i think hes vulnerable, i run out of time. the only times i pass this phase is when i make mistakes and knee jerk counter strike and he gets opened up.

I think the skull's just the Doom spell, most animations for Doom in FF games have either a skull or a reaper show up.
I think his Death Curse might be the Doom Spell

Just now realising you're going in descending number order but have already done Xehanort which means the best character is saved for last 😏

Can I just say that my own opinion as to why Marluzia is weak to fire is because of how broken Firaga spells are in Re/CoM?

Kind of similar to why Saix is weak against Blizzard in Re:Mind. That spell was able to infinitely loop him in his data battle in 2FM.
Because fire burns flowers, simple logic, even I discovered that he has this weakness because of that logic
