Thinking realisticly we don't know what exactly gaster is capable of yet. He could be some very crutial character who ties into the story of things while not being able to do much, or he could be this powerful superbeing that got shattered "across" space and time. The spot however, we know what he is capable of and how much destruction he can cause. My money would be on the Spot.
