As you can see in the video, this route goes a short stretch through Germany. The border in this area is very erratic, and the track goes through a small part of Germany that protrudes into Switzerland. (the river Rhine is the border between Germany and Switzerland for the most part, but not in the area of Schaffhausen, which is on the north bank of the Rhine). The German villages of Jestetten and Lotstetten are only served by SBB-trains, and the stations are owned and operated by the SBB too.
This is awesome, i was in Switzerland last week for riding with trains. Mostly in eastern and central parts So i went on this route on the 23rd but i took the IC non stop to Schaffhausen, and on my return i took S12 Well i forgot about the Rhine falls as i was sitting on the left side 😥
I wonder if the passenger accomodation is as sound-proofed as the driving cab seems to be. I keep meaning to ask who operates those orange/gold liveried sets seen leaving Zurich HB at the same time. I've seen them before but keep forgetting to ask.
It is even quieter in the back, since the wind that is directly coming at the front of the train is missing entirely. Plus only two of six cars have traction motors, it is those at the front and back of the train, so the four passenger cars in the middle are very quiet. What you saw is an SOB Flirt 3, known as Traverso. It is operated either by SOB or SBB, depending on where it is going.
New clean windows (both sides) and flat lighting gave a very clear view. One the right hand side on leaving Zurich is always parked at least one Re 4/4 II in Lion livery (is also viewed from the station webcam). Is this a fallback loco for failures of S-Bahn services only and can be attached to any S-Bahn 'set' to complete there assigned timetabled service? Or is it for general rescue service? Most train servicing from station to yard(s) is done by Ee or Eem types
By the way and since RABe 512 new version is at least a side topic of the video, Stadler KISS trains are now running in CalTrains service on the SF peninsula area in the US. After years and years of delay it is very encouraging to see electrification finally along the route. Only slightly shy of a miracle! Quiet, clean, fast. As you and your colleagues are aware these train sets are very good.
Amazing timing, was just watching a different video from you. lets hope it starts snowing soon for cozy cabrides😊
Excellent Journey once again, Thank You.
21:30 the view from that bridge is always incredible
Any chance you could include a brief shot of the train itself at the start of the videos?
Thanks again for an interesting and relaxing trip.😊
you can simply google "RABe 512"... it literally takes 3 seconds.
Getting a picture of the train into the video is always my goal, but sometimes, like here, there's no time left to go outside and make one.
Super, der neue Triebwagen. Du bist der Beste!
Your videos always bring a smile 😊 Danke!

Unusual for Swiss trains to have dirty windows. My fingers were itching to squirter and clean it. 😊

The LION Re 420 are always parked there. They are sometimes used for shunting or pulling a train and are otherwise in reserve for the HVZ-D trains.
War dass in Rafz ein "Churchill-Pfeil" ?
Genau

What is this new flagship?
23:55 this Train
Stadler Flirt-IV, the newest train. 120true km/h in selected RUclips channels. 😂😂
@@ajns22 hm not exactly what I‘d call a flagship but certainly nice
It is the new Flagship train for InterRegio and RegioExpress type trains, not the Flagship overall. ;-)
