🚆 4K Cab ride in late winter by the lake (Switzerland | S8 Pfäffikon SZ - Winterthur)

- Welcome aboard the Siemens DTZ of the S-Bahn Zürich system! As spring is approaching and the temperatures are slowly rising, you can join me on a relaxing ride on the S8 from Pfäffikon SZ to Winterthur. We start right at the shores of Lake Zürich and follow the coast until we reach the city. A quick ride on the still relatively new cross-city link takes us to the north of Zürich, where we continue in a rural environment to the second largest city of the canton, Winterthur. This train usually terminates in Winterthur and returns back to Pfäffikon SZ, but there is a little special for you today. The second EMU that we need for rush hour wasn't ready in time and instead of coupling it in the siding right by the station, we have to get it at the maintenance depot Oberwinterthur. It's still a bit chilly, so don't put your warm clothes away just yet. However I can promise you it's comfortably warm in the drivers cab, so sit back and and enjoy the ride!

I can´t believe this cab-ride is real ! SBB network is real dream ! I live in Argentina, here railways ARE NOT EXISTS !! I was once there (take SBB some kilometers to reach Lousanne and I still dream this ride mith me!). Greetings and thanks for sharing this one !
We take an approach to Oerlikon i don't think I've seen before. Yet another tunnel/underpass to add to the half a dozen choices available 😁

Welcome back. Interesting that this train, being a local train, does not use the long Zimmerberg Base Tunnel to get to Zürich HB going westbound. It's a view I've never seen before.
Because it stops everywhere between Thalwil and Zürich. It would miss all these stops with the Zimmerberg Base Tunnel.
Danke vielmals fürs Video, die Railway Emotions Führerstandsfahrten waren bisher echt spitze. Was würde ich geben einmal in einem Zug wirklich mitfahren zu dürfen.
Am liebsten auf dem Rabde 500. Bin oft auf dem IC5 zwischen Zürich und St. Gallen unterwegs. und Liestal Zürich mit dem IR37
Das kannst du offiziell buchen aber zugegeben, ganz günstig ist es nicht. Dafür hast du einen zweiten Lokführer als Begleiter, der dir alle Fragen beantwortet. Leider ist es anders nicht möglich, vorne im Führerstand mitzufahren.

12:40 Hab ich mir das nur eingebildet? Der Gong klang irgendwie "verbogen" und dann der Ortsname "Au" - wie wenn "sie" über den Gong gestolpert wäre...Ich werde albern. Wieder eine super tolle "Mitfahrgelegenheit"
Nein, im neuen Kundeninformationssystem wird der Gong tatsächlich ein wenig verbogen. Ich weiss nur nicht warum ;-)

station - is it actually closed during the accessibility upgrade? Even SBB corporate pages won't say clearly \m/
It is fully operational, however the S8 we rode in doesn't stop there.

Ifahrtsignal für ZUE ish 80 ohni warnig? ha gmeint, dass mer nach der usfahrt i wiedikon mit 95 km/h fahre dörf oder wie ish das gregelt?
Von Wiedikon nach Zürich ist vmax 80. Anders wäre die Ausführung 80 ohne vorangehende Ankündigung nicht erlaubt.
