what knife model was that? also as far as self defense, if you arent going to use spray (which you should have anyway) you would be better off with a long sturdy hiking stick made from a small sapling, not only does it give you more reach, but you can use it when crossing all of those small streams and it's already in your hands if something should happen, mountain lions are ambush predators and its doubtful you would have enough time to open that folder if it were to attack you.
Peter my hat is off to you man I'm 50 years old and an X Conservation Corps member having a decade in the CiCi's cutting fireline and Hiking 15 20 25 mile hikes and I am impressed brother! Hey I just want to suggest a pair of Red Wing boots and Red Wings are very comfortable on your feet and I would highly suggest since you like hiking in the water that you would get the Gore-Tex issue but go to your local Red Wing dealers I'm not a Salesman but man I wear them and my I have steel screws in my right ankle and some injuries in my right knee so highly recommended wreck Red Wing boots and they're American-made they also put new laces and oil your boots every 6 months for you for free I don't know anybody that does that for you as far as shoes goes or boots and you can use to get a resold for about 60 or 70 bucks a piece. My dealer here in Sacramento has been there for 60 years and knows a ton about fee I don't know about the local dealers there but I'm sure you could find an older one in the Los Angeles area and it would be worth your wait if you if you if you like a good pair of boots. Downfall it will cost you probably the better part of free cenotes anyway great work Buddy on that High I mean excellent for work man.
Stick house? Hmmm, don't recall seeing a stick house. I just took main trail all the way to waterfall area (back when it was raining a lot) and then started climbing up and over the cascading waterfalls further and further up until I couldn't go any further.
Peter Genovese got it. The stick house I meant was the little baby hut built on trail with sticks, and you turned right where the Moss and mushrooms were. Thank you peter.
Did you not read the title of the video? lol Whitney Canyon in Santa Clarita, just off the 14 freeway. Beautiful when it's rainy. Saturday will be just such conditions again.
Yep, welcome to strict gun laws here where the law abiding citizens go without guns while the criminals carry them around everywhere. Laws that protect the criminals. Awesome.
Been on this trail many, many times! I absolutely love it! The waterfall was pretty nice this past winter (2022)
Yep, anytime after the rains, it's a beautiful hike!
@@PeterGenovese oh yeah!!
That is absolutely beautiful view of the waterfall! 😱😱😱
Yeah, only during rainy season!
Peter Genovese True, the summer times SoCal look depressing brown. With most native plants comes dormant at today stage.
Which trail do u take to get to the waterfall?
Awesome! Now I wanna go there. thanks for sharing
Jorge Delacadena - It won't be as green now as it was in my video. I went earlier in the year when we had lots of rain. Still a nice trail, though.

I have no idea what the knife model is. It's an old knife that my dad's uncle gave to him and which eventually was given to me.

Hey I have walked the trail but not that far, did you stay on main trail all the way or did you continue up over the stick house?

Protection in California vs Texas:
California - big ass knife
Texas - big ass gun

Where did u park did u pay for parking
There’s a free parking lot for the hike right next to the trailhead, south of the 14 freeway at the Newhall Ave exit.
Any fish?
Not that I saw, nope.
Anyone know if a dirtbike can be be ridden on the this trail?
The trail is too small for dirt bikes further up the trail.
