- The Dead Orchard innovator, Nathan Orchard from 10th Planet Seattle is one of Eddie Bravo's top-ranked black belt competitors. According to Eddie, he is dangerous when it comes to both the leg lock game and particularly his bread and butter, the Rubber Guard. He has competed against the biggest names in the sport today and holds wins over; Masakazu Imanari, Baret Yoshida, and AJ Agazarm to name a few.
With his insane flexibility and leg dexterity, Nathan catches many opponents with his Dead Orchard Armbar including the legendary Baret Yoshida who is a 2x No-Gi World Champion. The Dead Orchard is the most common Rubber Guard submission and has the highest finish rate. Many 10th planet competitors like Ben Eddy, Jeremiah Vance, and Grace Gundrum have this in their arsenal and have been successful with the technique in high-level competition. The Dead Orchard is essentially a double arm Triangle followed up with an armbar submission.

Or do you prefer the classic breakdowns?
Let me know in the comments below
I like both
The break down is good because I’m still a white belt and need to work on technique during quarantine
BUT I LOVE THESE TYPES OF VIDS THERE LEGENDARY
Both
Maybe combine them
@@jillurmalik1 I like that idea
@@juicybear9869 Noted, I really enjoy both
Nothing makes you feel more like you don’t know jiujitsu than this
It's like a new language LOL
Thanks for watching Jedi
WYD down here man
:D hey Jedi
Eddie is a legend, he said Dead orchard and that was it 💯🙌🏾
LOL Eddie for sure looked into
The mans name is ELVIS SINOSIC. He was the first and only to use this setup in the UFC . Many practitioners have used this throughout the early years of jiu-jitsu. Elvis was just the first to display it at UFC 30! You have to give the man credit where credit is due. He didn't just "use this move once" hahaha he had been using this move for several years practicing jiu-jitsu in the early 90s and 2000's.
By far one of my favourite subs from RG. As someone that has really good hip mobility, RG treats me well. The pump from crackhead control is super powerful, and difficult to stop.
I really enjoyed this format as well.
Glad you enjoyed the new format brother! Hope you and your family have a great year
@@BJJTrickster Same to you man, hope for a less shit 2021!
Great stuff, as always! Would love to see more content like this 🤙

Very cool. Thanks.
Also congrats to your team in the most recent SUG. Kind of felt bad for C.B. Dolloway debut being against Boogie.

3:10 look at Eddie’s face, he loves this
They say you die twice, the first time is when they put you in the grave, and the second is the last time somebody mentions you name.

Me sitting in my bed waiting for new BJJ trickster vids:👁👄👁
Day 1 of waiting
Day 2
Me still waiting
Me waiting here like forever
Dude plz I’m tired of this
New vid yes
Was long overdue, but I glad it's out
I totally forgot that the dead orchard had been done in an earlier ufc. This is proof that the worst thing against innovation is the idea of "schools" of "how to." That it took this long for this move to be rebirthed and used with deadly efficiency is unforgivable and yet understandable considering how dogmatic Bjj institutions prior to 10th planet were/are.
The move was there the whole time, staring us all in the faces. I firmly believe countless other people probably hit this move out of desperation and ignorance when they were white belts, but then were "corrected" as to "proper form" for an armbar.
smh
Güzel hareket 😋
teşekkür ederim
@@BJJTrickster thank you
It's so hard for me to go for the pump once I'm in crackhead control. But if I get to a full dead orchard, then it's a secure tap as long as I have enough time.
In that case, try releasing some of the pressure from crack head, let your partner escape the backdoor just a few inches and lock the dead ochard as your partner is in mid escape. I hope that makes sense
@@BJJTrickster will try, thanks!
isnt this just a triangle choke with the armbar. or is the setup that is different?
Normal triangle isolates one of the arms inside, this triangle locks above the shoulder with both of them inside allowing control of both to attack the more compromised arm I believe.
The triangle has one arm in and the other one out, the dead orchard traps both arms with a shoulder isolated.
Seems like a pretty simple move almost?? Am I stupid? Lol I've never played rubber guard but I think I'll start drilling this
Simplicity is the highest form of complexity. There are many things you need to get right to make it look effortless.
@@WisdomCat2198 sounds about right lol
How many likes till new vid
I have a new breakdown video coming soon. Got something bigger coming after that, stay tuned
It's a double arm triangle, move along .
