  • I’m super excited about today’s topic because I’ve seen a great deal of success using Amazon Ads. But that said, every day I get so many great questions about Amazon ads and how they work as well as myths they’ve heard. The list goes on and on. So today I’m going to pull back the cover of mystery and tell you exactly how amazon ads really work.
    Just to be clear, this is a shorter video so I’m not going to be showing you how to set up your Amazon Ads, how to analyze the numbers or anything like that.
    But first you really need to get an understanding of how amazon ads really work, so you don’t just toss your money in the toilet.
    In this how amazon ads really works video I'm going to answer:
    How does Amazon Ads work?
    What do I get charged for?
    How do I win the bid?
    What’s important?
    How much will I pay?

      @@KeithWheelerBooks Do you have any videos on how long it takes to start making money, assuming one is following the advice given, key words etc. Another video I saw today said 3 years. But maybe he was talking about like lots of money but I'm wondering how long on average to even start making even $100 a month.
      If you do have a video on this subject, would you link it? If not, could you make one? 😁😁😁

    • @KeithWheelerBooks
      @KeithWheelerBooks  Год назад +1

      I don’t currently have a video on this subject. It’s difficult to say because there are so many variables. Assuming one is following all the “right methods,” the biggest variable is the niche that you’re in. If your niche is super competitive or if there’s not a lot of demand, then it will take longer for you to make a regular profit. Another variable is whether or not you’re promoting/marketing your book.
      I’ll try to put together a video on this topic.

      @@KeithWheelerBooks Yes, true. I see your point. Maybe just when we can expect to receive one sell without it being friends or family 😂

      Oh I get what you mean. And a little unknown face is that most of the time friends and family buy a book, just to be nice, it can actually hurt your chances of future organic sales.

    Trying to learn more about Amazon Ads. My last campaign during #AmazonPrimeDay was a net loss. The data lagged for three days; once I saw it, I turned off the high cost & low performing ads.

      @@KeithWheelerBooks I just spent my book revenue for a more valuable lesson. An Amazon Ad tip I heard from Lean Media was to put your book title and loaded keywords in the negative keyword part because that should be served up to Amazon customers organically with traditional search. No need to pay for placement your book already gets for a pre-loaded keyword.

    • @KeithWheelerBooks
      @KeithWheelerBooks  Год назад +1

      While I do understand where they’re coming from, while using those words in your title and keywords WILL show you in search, it may not show you on the first page of search.
      Ads, on the other hand do show on first page. So, by doubling down and having it both in your meta data and in your ads you’re:
      1. Doubling your chances of it being shown
      2. If it’s clicked on, you’re Increasing your book’s relevancy for that keyword phrase.

    • @mikecook_author
      @mikecook_author Год назад +1

      @@KeithWheelerBooks the first page on Amazon search is definitely most desirable. I rarely go past the first page when searching for products. As I said it was a tip from someone else that I just started using on my Kindle book versions. It’s like throwing as much “stuff” against the wall to see what sticks.

    Ok, if bid amounts don't matter, then why did I start getting sales after I bumped up my bids from $0.2 to $0.4?

    • @KeithWheelerBooks
      @KeithWheelerBooks  9 месяцев назад

      I didn’t say bid amounts don’t matter. I’m saying they’re less important than relevancy.

    • @ruslank4028

      @@KeithWheelerBooks Yet I'm finding it difficult to strike a balance between getting enough impressions and keeping the amount of money I have to spend on advertising low. As soon as I hiked my bids my acos went through the roof, but when I tried to lower the bids my impressions nosedived, consequently, I got no sales on those days. My acos is still in triple digits. You seem to be very knowledgeable when it comes to kdp. I would appreciate if you could give me some advice on how to keep my ad spend and acos in check, while getting more impressions and sales. As far as keywords concerned, there should be no issues there since I've cherry picked them.

    • @KeithWheelerBooks
      @KeithWheelerBooks  9 месяцев назад

      There are a couple things I would suggest. First, instead of “hiking up” your bids, just raise them a couple cents and leave your daily budget the same. Next, you mentioned that you”cherry picked” your keywords. If you mean they’re the most relevant, great. But if you mean they’re the most popular, than they’re probably costing you more than you should have to pay. I’d suggest finding a few dozen keywords that are relevant to your book, but less competitive, so they’ll have a lower cpc.
      Let me know how this goes.

    • @ruslank4028
      @ruslank4028 9 месяцев назад +1

      @@KeithWheelerBooks Where can I find those low ppc keywords? Search term report?

    • @KeithWheelerBooks
      @KeithWheelerBooks  9 месяцев назад

      When you add in your list of keywords, it’ll show you the suggested cpc. While I don’t suggest you actually chose those prices, they’ll be a good indicator of which keywords are less competitive. (They’ll have a lower suggested cpc)
