This is nothing new. As for the LCS's, they can close for all i care. After watching them buy up all the local retail product and resell it at 50+% markup the last 3 years, i dont care anymore. Im done with retail and hobby. I'll stick with singles til that gets to be too much.
Exactly I've been in lcs and people bring in boxes that they buy at the stores and resells them to them for like cost plus 5 or 10 bucks more then the lcs marks them up double that I know walmart was sell the 2023 donruss complete 400 card full set for 20 something dollars the lcs same set selling for 75 dollars and I watch people come and buy these at the lcs and I just want to be like your getting ripped off buddy but then I'll be banned and they got excellent bargain bins and good singles prices so what do you do at that point the online stuff and breaks are fun but do I really trust these guys getting me my product
Thanks for the info GnR. Is there a way, other than continuing to buy from my local shop, that we can turn this around? I love opening pack with my kids and it seems like it is getting harder and more costly to do so.
Going to the card store growing up is still some of my favorite memories, we need to keep them alive. My local hobby/card store has no new stuff...all 2023 2022..can't get any 2024 :(
No man, they want and need hobby shops....the middle man is distribution placed, Dave and Adam's, steel city and so on...LCS are needed and wanted by topps..
Wrong!!! My LCS has been around since 1990, he can get as much as he wants. He's never shorted. Do you know how many cases were printed?2023 with a 220 card set., Had 9,000 plus hobby cases, 6,000 plus jumbo, and 4,000 plus Delight. It’s still available. 2024 is a 300 card set. Lots of cases out there. Boxes of chrome to produce in 2018 at the factory was $27.00 a box. I know what my LSC owner pays. It’s cheaper than most think. Fanatics sent emails to card shops on how to revamp stores. Make it modern. They even offered to help. So nothing has changed other than prices and print run.
Never dealt with Topps directly. And won’t. Have enough stores in my town to get what I need. In the last 3 years 3 LCS stores closed here. With the way sports cards are selling I wonder why
Fanatics does this always, they force companies out, buy the name and then produce absolute crap! Look at all the memorabilia companies they've bought, quality went to shit. Fanatics is a virus to everything it touches
This is terrible letting the breakers/flippers getting these cards, now if you want cards prices will be sky rocketing to where no one can afford it. Thanks Fanatics, Topps & flippers/breakers for screwing over the people who treat this like a hobby.
Fanatics is working on gettng rid of the small hobby stores! Thats the heart and blood of this hobby! MLB please cancel Fanatics contract and go back to having at least 2 or more companies product baseball cards! Fanatics is running the hobby into the ground!
