How are the conditions for you guys right now. For us here in Pennsylvania we haven't had rain since April. Again I'm here to learn all about organic because that's what I'm farming
@@6thGenFarmer'm learning there are so many different pieces of equipment that can make it a little bit easier to keep weed control better. Did you ever use a propane burner for weed control😊
That’s a great question about conditions. Tri-state area Illinois Missouri Iowa drought. All the crops are in. Some places we’ve had nose significant amount of rain since April.
Crazy hand picking those rocks your grandfather is truly old school. Love the video interaction with your dad. Your truly blessed in what you do and who you have around you.
JD autosteer technology for the average 50 to 65 year old farmer...."Who's on first, What's on second, I Don't Know in on third." LOL. "That's a lot of rocks" is right!
My uncle’s family used to use a team of horses and a stone boat to pick rocks by hand. Then a lot of those rocks were used to build walls in barns and basements in houses. On the Saskatchewan prairies there are still stone houses standing that were probably built 100 years ago. The horses did have auto steer built in because even in the worst blizzard they could aways get you home to the barn.😂
87 years old might be time to buy Grandpa a rock picker.we had a neighbor last fall that used some kind of rock picker I assume with a rock rake and went across every foot of about a 200 acer field just like you would harvest a crop
Automation is cool, but dangerous. So easy to fall asleep if the tractor does everything. 😅Definitely did not drive in to a shallow ditch this way. Even though our Steyr only goes and turns around, I did not find the way for it to lift the tool behind.
This was really good listening to father and son talking In the cab. Thank you really good today guys
Thank you for leaving a great comment!
@@6thGenFarmer hey I can be on Not nice at times. Unfortunately. Just remember lol

Thought you weren't gonna tag an intro into this one. 😁 Great Father Son conversation
Thank you very much

Auto Steering is the best. Oh to be able to cultivate with the old MM again and stay awake. Progress 👍👍👍
MM as in Minneapolis Moline??
That is crazy impressive what they did, it looks factory!

Haha I have heard of stories about horses taking the drunks home from the bar in a blizzard
Carson did the family members all own their own acres? Did anyone have to buy either out?

Yeah it for sure is. The John Deere displays are extremely annoying though so it’s hard to fall asleep😂
You need to sell those rocks by the pound!
you know a buyer??😂
Heck yeah cant beat an 8410 😈
Who’s grandpa is it ?it is very impressive!😊
It would be my grandpa on my dad’s side!
🚜🗽🇺🇸💯
Thanks for always commenting!
That old generation is tough as nails or catfish lips!
Agreed!!!
1200 lbs picked up an hour if they worked 8 hr days. 20lbs every minute
Wow! That’s some crazy stats
What happens to all the rocks 🪨? Are they sold to a home builder who utilize them during construction 🦺?
We use them for some stuff now and then, some get crushed, and sometimes we sell them to neighbors or local construction but not too often
