Was this a carefully staged propaganda video to show off the luxury? Any insight from this community here is appreciated.
Thanks Yeaonmi for your content I really like your videos. One question does North Korea allow tourists to come to Pyongyang? Or is all cates close because covid19?
Yeah, you can go there with a tour. However, you cannot roam freely. They will guide you to placew they want to show you, and that's it. Apart from that, I wouldn't recommend going there. One, for your own sake, and two, to not support the regime even more.
The only thing worse is that there are still power-hungry leaders might emulate North Korea since the lockdown and Pandemic now adding politics into the mix. Lucky for the US, they're still free but people are also getting poorer and the politics is getting close to NK's in terms of unpopular policies putting here and here and the states are now acting on their own at times. There are also people divided too. Hopefully you remain safe. Watching some of your videos makes me aware of life living like this if people continues to be ignorant.

Not for long. Biden wants to be the west’s Kim.
The only city that is lit up at night while the rest of the country is in darkness
What is the music called?
A city with only a few cars, that must be a dream. (...if there wouldn't be this devastating, catastrophic political system...).
What is the protocol for getting citizens ready for visitors from other countries? When do they start rehearsing their “roles” when a foreigner comes to NK? Is someone in charge of telling certain families what they will be doing when the foreigner comes?
Yall look better off than 60% of the planet
I am curious... Exactly how many high-ranking people besides Kim Jong-Un would have to "disappear" before the population of North Korea could really be free and enjoy their lives!?
In other words, exactly how many people are actually required to keep the entire population of North Korea as slaves!?
My heart goes out to the people of North Korea! It's unfathomable to the rest of us just what it's like to suffer like they're doing!
I'm surprised to see relatively heavy/steady traffic on the roads.
All the other videos make it sound like cars are as rare as unicorns in NK.
I'm honestly a little confused by these nighttime images.
I get that nothing is "real" that NK shows the world, but the lights, traffic, Las Vegas style (working) fountains etc just seem to contradict everything else.
@@LS-Moto i know that! i had no intention of traveling there. I was just curious that what is current situation!
North Korea has had its borders sealed since Jan 2020 due to Covid. The first country in the world to lock its border against Covid.
@@Steveinthailand this was the answer to my question
Thanks you
North Korea is very reminiscent of the Hunger Games.
beautiful city also.
There are two completely different worlds in America.
Are you willing to make a statement for missing Chinese tennis player and her allegations?
Does this ever happen in DPRK itself?
Nice city
Sad sad sad
The only thing worse is that there are still power-hungry leaders might emulate North Korea since the lockdown and Pandemic now adding politics into the mix. Lucky for the US, they're still free but people are also getting poorer and the politics is getting close to NK's in terms of unpopular policies putting here and here and the states are now acting on their own at times. There are also people divided too.
Hopefully you remain safe. Watching some of your videos makes me aware of life living like this if people continues to be ignorant.
I wonder if they had the electricity on just for this shootage... It looks beautiful in the night... the country has hardworking people and potential but it's amazing how a small group of the population (the party) can drag everyone down
Kinda strange saying the party is dragging everyone down when your own country can’t contain the coronavirus like NK did
@@bennelong8451 yeah just kill the person with the sniffs 🤧
@@sdsdsasda yea the USA executed about 700k in 2 years
I have a question if you don't mind.
My understanding is that most of the North koreans don't have the slightest idea about what's going on in the world outside NK. North Koreans are fed with the propaganda that they live in a socialist paradise. So under such circumstances, what motivated you to escape North Korea? How were you so certain that there was a light at the end of the tunnel?
I am looking forward to hearing from you.
Thanks in advance.
The lack of food
i recommend her book "In Order to Live"
@@jimmyk4091 i will definitely try that out. Thanks 😊
It’s sad that most of these buildings are probably fake:(
NORTH KOREA! ARE YOU READY FOR THE BEAT TO DROP?!
The buildings have lights but none in the windos. Looks odd and says alot! You aren't fooling anyone NK.
Lights are for show, all buildings are abandoned.
Reminds me of the hunger games
Wow this is so beautiful. Despite being sanctioned they made it .
Imagine developed North Korea with all cities like Pyongyang
Amazing video. It sucks so little of North Koreans can even really see the city.
First UwU ✨
From what kind of criminal activities does the dictatorship and the elite live and grow their wealth and power up to nuclear weaponry, since the country does not produce anything and 90% is poor and probably nobody pays any taxes?
In Venezuela they have the billion dollar drug trafficking. In N. Korea what is it? Anyone knows?
Drugs too to a large degree, selling comfort women, and black market stuff.
Is there any doubt that Tigers pity us if we are not Chinese enough, and all we can do is become more Chinese in order to become stronger and more calm and more hairy
with these beautiful buildings it would be good if she would talk about architechture, natural world, animals. weather. It would be great if you had one video without the mention of kim jong-un.
The architecture in Pyongyang is beautiful. I love the Metro system; its stunning.
Just like America, the rich spoiled families go to gated communities , vacations and eat food the poor will never have a chance no matter how hard we work 2 jobs 60 hours a week. RIP america
Check out SAO documentary
It's beautiful shame the rest of the people in North Korea have to suffer
Some slick looking propaganda. It doesn't hide the insanely light traffic on the streets and the pitch black darkness on the right side of the river and around the city though. I have more traffic in my suburban neighborhood, and this is a capital city.
I am finding that Yeonmi Park has an agenda. Someplace between politics and self promotion...
So, someone calling out the horrors of NK is promoting some agenda? That's weird man
Yeonmi Park claims she lived in Pyongyang though has never produced a shred of evidence to verify it. Pro-NK channels say the same. NIS (South Korean Intelligence) claim Yeonmi Park left North Korea from a village near the border when she was 9yo. I believe NIS more than her book
🌹👑
Presumably that was from, or intended for, official propaganda, without the captions?
Yeonmi has uploaded this video from Sam Jiyon channel on youtube, then reworded it
@@Steveinthailand The DPRK flag and the caption "Korea, I Will Glorify You" make it pretty clear where that's coming from. I assume the message in the original was inteded to be "Isn't this a pretty place?"
Praying for the North Koreans in the mighty name of Jesus
God loves North Korea that’s why he gave them nukes for self defence
That fancy water fountain might as well be flowing with the blood of the people. Nothing beautiful about it.
I couldn't believe this beautiful city is in North Korea , I hope this regime gets vanished and I could see Korean 🇰🇵🇰🇷people having fun🎉 with no fear😨 of getting execute , good whishes from India 🇮🇳 , yeoumi
Hi
Why can't the 90% be taken away from that dump and the 10% get on with it
Do you consider yourself honest with the other videos you made?
Yeonmi has just uploaded this video from Sam Jiyon channel on youtube (also on Weibo). So, no. She's totally dishonest
As of 2020 world richest 1% have more than twice as much wealth as 6.9 billion people~ Oxfam.
Wow
There is no street traffic.
