We have a long way to go to get to 1M but so happy for you guys. Love the stats you gave us on the number of YT channels that actually have 1k, really puts things in perspective. We have a very similar approach to our channels. The evergreen episodes will continue to get views but really love the personal adventure and day to day stuff way more. I love it! Thanks for sharing. I always wonder how we measure up to other similar genres. We started about 6 months after y'all and we are about to hit 500,000 views...and, as should be 😃, our money is about half of yours. We will keep getting out and burning up the roads though. Maybe one day we will make enough to completely cover our campground costs. Lol And I did love the bit of trivia about 118M channels, and only 16% have over 1K subs. That was genuinely encouraging. I will tell you that in Nov. 2022 we saw our monthly revenue almost cut in half, while getting the same views. At the time Google laid off like 20K people and announced that add revenue was going to see a cut. It sure did. Thanks so much for you and Scottys support over the years. We have been out and about on some fun trips shorter trips... but I have been pretty tethered to my desk since August (I started on my doctorate, and still researching freed slaves). So we go whenever I am "free," or can squeeze in a few nights, but then I get home and have to get right back to the grind. So no time for making videos unfortunately. But- Hey I didn't realize that you guys were back in Utah long term. What brought that decision? We moved to a bigger house with a nice RV pad, so if you decide to hit the road and come east again, we have a place for you to park!

Zero to be exact. We learned the same as you; most people do not care about our trips etc. We think you are entertaining.., great chat here. So the $4k is the total earnings since day one right? Meaning it’s not even $1000/yr? It’s a little confusing just using an amount but not a timeline. How about breaking it down to earnings per year? Or per hour viewed? (Looks just shy of 10 cents per hour viewed). Great vid
Yes, that is our total earnings, I posted a screenshot of the earnings on screen as I was talking about the figure. Sorry that it was confusing. You make a good point about breaking it down, I should have done that. Hi Lucy, yeah, I had a heart attack in July 2017. One of the big reasons we adjusted our goals at the time so we could retire and hit the road in 2019.
