NCL Pride of America Hawaii Vacation, Day 5: Haleakala at Sunrise

We woke up at 3:00am for our Norwegian Cruise Line sunrise excursion to Haleakala Volcano. Once we arrived to the summit it was pitch black (bring a flashlight) and freezing (wear lots of layers) but the star gazing was amazing. We could even see the glow of the erupting Mauna Loa on the Big Island in the distance. Once the sun rose it was breathtaking to see the volcano's base from above. We were able to witness and listen to the beautiful Hawaiian ceremonial chant that is performed each morning. Seeing Haleakala Volcano should be on everyone's bucket list.
