Another great video. I would love some commentary at some point that would give your journey more context; perhaps in voiceover. Do you find towing a basecamp and exploring with the Jeep preferable to a single-vehicle setup like a truck camper? I'm hitting the road next year and still undecided between the two options.
I'm traveling with a Ford F350 with slide in camper. The truck is a new base model 4x4. The slide in camper is a 25 yr old S and S. I pull a 16ft enclosed trailer with my quad, dual sport and mountain bike. Sometimes I have my inflatable boat with me. I like my setup. This guy's set up is very cool no doubt but I prefer the diversity of mine. I just did a 2 month trip to Alaska. Incredible. I averaged 11 mpg. Lots of choices out there
Perhaps voiceover in the future… debating! I stay for at least a few months wherever i travel, so a set home base is a must for me. Still gives me a sense of home to come back to. But if you are moving everyday, a truck camper may be the best bet. I’m sure there are some real neat truck campers out there

@@JeepScamp thank you I’m trying to speak it into existence. Your video saying no drama is one of the main reasons. I have no family and moved all my life. I’m pretty free. But working in an office with multiple women has been filled with drama and so depressing I want out. Thank you.
@ I get it, I work in healthcare. RV life in nature is the best way to decompress in my experience. Good luck!
Tell me you are eating food in between the coffee! I love seeing the changes in landscape. Much different than Florida. I enjoy your vlogs. Very peaceful. Safe travels.
Lol yes. Maybe I’ll slide some cooking scenes in the next video for reassurance! Much different than Florida for sure
Loved your video! Beautiful scenery!
Thank you!
Love the loon call at the end, but I don't think you'll hear them in the desert. They have to stay in or near water as they can not walk and need to take off from water.
@@Jerry-bg6mn good ears!
I just saw your plate you're from Pennsylvania that's where I was born and raised till I moved to Florida in 97 I'm ready to get out of Florida it's getting too crazy
Florida is too crazy and flat
So Cool !
Thank you!
I'm going to retire like this.. even though in the house I spend most of my time in the backyard underneath my patio so I might as well just live outside. At my house I put my TV outside my stereo I pretty much live in the backyard.. something to try for your Jeep I had the same exact Jeep same setup rims and everything. Would the black Jeep get the black and white zebra stripe seat covers they look so cool when the top is down and you have the little Bimini top on. You can find them at most outdoor swap meets
I felt the same way just wanting to be outside all the time. Full time camping fills that void. I’ll have to check out the seat covers! Good luck with retirement
Dude, I love your set up just a little FYI, though be careful coming out of your scamp and stepping on the ground with no shoes on or your sandals on check for a rattlesnakes… hello from New Hampshire!!
Great tip! I certainly am too relaxed with bare feet in the southwest
First time see your video. Hello from Puerto Rico friends
Welcome!
Slick Set up!
Thank you!
Hey Brother I just bought the 2024 13 ft Scamp like you have and looking into traveling the country as well call Rick Mann yep I'm part of the family now love seeing what you do your Innovations how you got it set up gives me ideas to do you have electronic brakes hook up to your Jeep
Hi Mark. Yep electronic brakes came with trailer! Works through the 7 way plug
PPS the Bob Davis Podcast is something he started pre-covid, and went Nomad, (America style!... not like in Siberia.. or third world of course!). Basically bought an ambulance, and cleaned it well, and a few mods, but did not pimp it out. and been 4 years on the road living... sold the house and got rid of the non important stuff.. lot. lived in my backyard.. St Paul, MN. Kurt Can... spelling.. ( he has awesome watches.. dealing with community, travel, and Immigration issues/ political ... so he covers allot as a cool Canadian guy should! ). .... as my age can fill a dumpster or two but live frugally.. and have a 07 tacoma that just turned 100k, so another 1-150 K I can get out of it! stick, single cab, w 2.7 L 4 cylinder.. the best small engine.. with ability to sleep in rear..
Well a great start you have, and you will grow.. seek some public initiatives.. set some show goals.. social stuff and bump into these other guys both there.. n you should do excellent!
Some day myself for getting out there!
Cheers! Ric
Welcome to New Mexico.
Thank you!
First time seeing your Channel. Good Stuff. I like your Pace. Have a similar set up. But I have a Toyota Truck, hauling a 16 ft to the ball hitch(trailer less than 14ft) Trailer. And I love it. Just starting out also.(2 yrs retired) Always interested in New Places I've never been to. Will Subscibe and check out your future Adventures's. Be Safe Mr. JeepScamp.
Thank you… Enjoy your set up and retirement!
Love the Video great editing. Question on your rear shocks, what make and model are those air shocks?
Are you asking about the red airbags?
@@JeepScamp yes

I came across your videos and really enjoy them. You do very good work! Can you share what equipment you use? Enjoy your journey on the road. I’ll continue to watch and live vicariously through your videos. Safe travels!
Thank you! Welcome to the channel. I’ve gotten that question a few times… I will have to post a list of what equipment I use on my profile.
I’m sure there are some real neat truck campers out there
@@JeepScamp thanks for that input. I feel like I'm leaning heavily in the same direction.
Very nice set up
Thank you!
Love your videos. How long did you stay in Grass Valley CA before leaving for New Mexico? Love your rig, maybe a tour of it someday? Thanks for sharing & effort in putting out these nice videos.
Thank you. Grass valley for 6 months. Will be in NM for 3 months. Maybe a tour soon!
Wow, i envy you, freedom is most precious when one does not have it. Curious tho, is the Grass Valley campground a paid one? How much? Appreciate your reply.
@@keysonthego3663 grass valley spot was a private property I found through “The Dyrt” camping app. Just a small price per night, a great find. More and more people are renting out there property to RV travelers
Love it man! Just subscribed.
Thank you!
