@@BaldManMotors That's awesome. The family is on board! Having the V8 power of an AMG it's absurd to not be heard! Sometimes I feel like I'm driving a Tesla.
This is absolutely amazing I love it! I have a 2001 E430 Sport with literally the exact same resonator and muffler delete with an x pipe in place. It sounds almost identical but yours sounds beefier with that 5.4! I could not approve any more with this setup👍👍
For sure man I am sure it will never get old! I have had mine like this for the past year and 2 months and i always look forward to driving anywhere and getting on the throttle. I am excited for the next video!
@@seanschuler1700 I have the same exact setup as well. Got a magnaflow x pipe with pipe running all the way back from the primaries. Perfect amount of purr at cruising rpms but roars like a beast when the throttle opens.
@@mikeharrison2831 Long live the M113 V8! They have such a unique sound. It’s hilarious watching people’s reactions as I give it throttle past them. The look on their face like “that car makes that sound?” I may not win any races because it is rather slow compared to today’s regular cars but at least it sounds good doing it. I love showing people that it’s not just a Ford, Chevy or Dodge that can make a good sounding V8👍
man, I love you. You inspired me to do the exact same thing to my w210 e55. And man does it sound nasty in person… anyway I hope yours is serving you well and hope you are doing good yourself! keep up the great content
I had a muffler delete on my 2002 E55. Yes it sounds good, but as a daily driver, it was too loud and annoying. Drone on the highway. The 55 is loud enough, just gotta get the RPM’s up there. Such fun cars
@Niddo Thank you!, sorry I don't really remember. I tried to find my purchase links but eBay deleted my buying history. I think x pipe was slightly larger and then I used small piece of the exhaust pipe I purchased as a step down adapter. So exhaust pipe was extremely close to right size and then the clamps took it the rest of the way. It is still working well so far after about a year. I believe the kit said 2.5in but I am a more of a test and fit kinda guy since sellers often have incorrect specs.
Thanks for sharing your work on the great W210 AMG :-) I own a W211 E350. It lacks any stirring exhaust notes but it accelerates well. In the 1980s I drove Alfa Romeos so I miss their amazing exhaust symphony of sounds... I recently had to have all four of the 211’s catalytic converters replaced due to a check engine light. The car sounded worse to me, but am now used to it. What would you choose as a good exhaust reconfiguration, for improved overall exhaust sound on the W211 with V6 M272 engine?
@gdog92603 Thank you, so they do not let you do anything to mufflers as well or is it just sound decibel? I mean I still have all the cats in for emissions, just asking as I don't know Cali rules. Thanks for watching 👍
That sounds amazing! I have been going back and forth about doing this to mine and I think that I am going to cave in. I also want to keep my factory set up for future resale. Are you planning any other mods to this?
Thank you, I still want to do a tune and headers, and I want to hardwire Bluetooth into it. But who knows with time I may do more, I agree with you about being able to return to stock as the value are rising quickly.
@@BaldManMotors yeah I have been looking into that as well. I like the tune because no one would know that it's on there unless you told them. So I can't see it hurting resale.
Oh not damaging risk, more advertising removal to the EPA on YT risk. Also some buyers may be concerned if its gone when sold, though I have 0 plans to sell mine. Sorry for the late response.
How's the interior noise? I took off my resonator and muffler just for fun to go on a ride and man the whole inside and my ears were buzzing, so I just took off the muffler and kept the resonator. But like you said it's still too quiet and doesn't have the V8 sound. BTW I have an e430 so idk if that would affect it much.
Interior noise is pretty low, the drone went away once I added the pipes. It was pretty bad when I went for test drive with no muffler or resonator but once the pipes were on it has been great. The 430 should be close noise wise, perhaps a bit higher pitch but I would think it would still sound great. Hope this helps!
@@Sobieskiful not much at all. I removed everything from cat back and put a x-pipe with 2.5" tubing. Only drones at around 1800 on a high gear pull or get away. It really shines around 3-4000 with a little bit of a pop. Sitll use it as my daily.
Very nice and deep sound. My exhaust has a resonator delete from a previous owner and some loud mufflers. I love the sound after 2000rpm but anything below that gives me a drone in the interior, to the point that my dash rattles. Any advise you can give?
Appreciate your comment! Apologies I am no expert with exhaust drone, I would maybe double check that the exhaust is not in contact with the chassis or suspension for resonance transfer. Other than that I don't know, mine has no drone. Do you have a crossover pipe?
@@BaldManMotors sounds good, I’ll double check that. Just got my E55 about 3 weeks ago, I’m very happy with it, in process of bringing it back to the pristine condition. But overall amazing and very underrated vehicle.
Nice work, it sounds lovely. Personally I like my Mercedes being quiet, it adds to the luxury feel for me.
Thanks!
I have 2001 E55 AMG, I delete resonator only and make straight pipes instead. The sound very good 👍🏻
By far this is the best mod video on an E55 that I've seen. I'm convinced. I've got to do this!!!!!!

Thanks Mark, so far my wife and I love it. I was very glad there wasn't any drone and as long as I keep my foot out of it, it is pretty quiet 😃

@Ed&Sue Thanks, I've really enjoyed it so far. I'm in KY now and my "loud exhaust" is quiet compared to all of the trucks around here :)
