I love these old machines for the nostalgia factor. 32 mb of ram, and a 4.3 gb hard drive sounds ridiculous now, but back in the day, that's what was happening. And let's not forget that budget machines like this are what started the pc craze---a real computer that people could actually afford
From today's perspective, it's unreal that you could basically do anything you wanted with 32 MB of RAM. Work, play 3D games, watch videos, surf the Internet... What the programmers managed to do back then is a masterstroke. They used resources very sparingly back then.
@@ifzwischendurch To be fair though, you weren't really going to do much with 32mb (or even 64mb) of RAM----even back then it was pretty marginal. That's why whenever you pick up one of these old machines nowadays, it's usually been upgraded to at least 128 mb, usually by the original owner
@@justsumguy2u I have a Windows 95 machine with 32 MB and it is fast. It's just important to make sure you don't have more than one programme running. If you have several programmes running in parallel, the PC becomes slow (but not unusable). I used to play a lot of games on it and it worked great.
@@ifzwischendurch For me, 32mb was unstable---not only was it slow, it caused multiple freezes and crashes (with only one tab or process running). 64mb eliminated the stability issues, but it was still slow. For those that aren't doing any serious gaming, 128mb is the sweet spot for 98. And for aggressive gaming that takes up a lot of resources, I'd recommend 256mb
1:30 yeah right. my i7 7700k runs at 4.2ghz i have 16gb DDR4 Memory, 8gb 1050ti Graphics card and a 2tb M.2. My computer could run circles around this computer so fast you wouldnt even see it.

Now that's a real computer!! love this machine!!! And I even love that Team Chevy wallpaper too because GM used to be so cool back in the 90s and even 2000s. This was my uncle's first PC when he was in high school or college in the late 90s and that's when my parents got married and I was born in the early 2000s during the long supportive era of Windows XP.
In the early 90s (92/93) you had to be crazy rich to afford 32Mb of RAM . . . seriously!! As a poor student, I remember desperately trying to get Windows 3.1 installed and running on a Siemens Nixdorf 386SX with only 1Mb of RAM because I couldn’t afford 2MB (which, as I recall, was the minimum requirement!). I got it working by minimising what it loaded, but it still took half an hour to boot up 🤣
The computer I am currently using: Pentium 4 2.8 ghz 512+512 1024 mb sd ram 80 gb lde harddisk nvidia geforce fx 5200 is starting to have difficulties now I think it's time to retire
There enthusiasts who have "old internet" things up, I'm not sure how common they are. I think that there are programs enthusiasts have developed that "covert" modern internet sites into something an old PC can read, never looked into it much, tho.
I dunno how long they used that case, but I got one that looked just like that for a family member back in the the day. It was real cheap, and I'm pretty sure it was pre-USB. The only problem was, and this was apparently well known, the modem it came with basically didn't work, so I got them a good modem. Still, it worked well otherwise, didn't have the exploding power supplies of the later E-machines.
Hi Justin, i am searching for 2 songs pre-installed in Windows 98, I can't remember the title or band name. There was a clip of a street with a singer. I have searched a long time bud couldn't find anything. Do you have a suggestion that can help me further.

Oh great, I had forgotten the sound of the floppy disk when starting the pc haha. And yes, I got to have win98 plus that brought a game called marbles.
That plus in the Windows 98 Plus logo feels so 90s
Ah yes, the good ol sticker covered prebult pcs of the late 90s/early 2000s
Usually gave them 5-10 horsepower per sticker.
That startup sound is awesome

It was actually an upgrade plan, not implying that the hardware itself would never be obsolete.

32mb of ram with using thrustmaster!
You could install freedos or some distribution of Linux for this type of computers.
