My air fryer has a fries option so I click it and when i make air fryer potatoes or sweet potatoes it’s only for 15min can’t remember the temp it’s 350 or 400. I check mine with a tooth pick after 10 minutes and conti till the are cooked because sometimes it depends on how thick you cut them. Maybe try that 🤷🏻♀️ it’s a learning process though I’ve burned things too lol

The vent/exhaust is on the back of the air fryer and we used it too close to our backsplash and it made a burn mark on our back splash 😢 so pull it out away from the backsplash or just use it on your island to be safe! Don’t want that happening to you.
Yup when you said 38 minutes, I'm like no way, that's too long for chopped up potatoes. If it was a whole sweet potato in the oven wrapped in foil, yes it may take 38 minutes. But the times goes down a lot if it is in pieces. And I find it needs less time in the airfryer because the temperature is more true than an oven.
Air Fryers are so good. I barley use my oven much or my microwave. I practically use it 5-7 times a week. Sorry your potato brunt. But yeah the time is a lot less. I would always rather undercook them and then add a few minutes if needed.

Make your sweet potatoes at 350 for 20 minutes. I burned mine the first time too lol

usally i cook my sweet potato in fryer for 8mins than cheak but usally all done under 10mins but everyone burns stuff when first get fryers ...😁😁
