Chris originally was the drummer and singer when he formed this band with Kim. This is a huge reason why his songwriting was so unique and not always in the standard 4/4 timing. His voice was unmatched. His looks, that rock n roll hair and his natural ability to be just a cool fkn dude. Who didnt look at that dude and think man i wish that was me. Haha. We all miss him. ❤ He was a light in our lives.
His looks are what caught my attention at first as a teenager but I've long come to appreciate him for more than that. He's brilliant. I'm still so bummed I missed his second to last show ever because no one would go with me. Had I known I'd have gone alone. 😢
Oh this guy is unreal. I can sing (i just don't like my voice at all) but, if I could sing like that, I'd be comfortable going acapella like that too. But his riff mastery and lyric-smithery (is that a word?) is incredible. Especially this song. Loved this guy.
Don’t you absolutely fkg hate it when your listening to an angelic voice and some fk stick within ear shot won’t shut up. Shhhh and absorb the moment. May God bless you and your family Chris Cornell
Often imitated but will never be duplicated no matter how good any other singer is...he was the original..without Chris writing and singing this amazing music there would be no imitators period. He sang with conviction, heart and soul.
Chris Cornell had best rock singing voice, I saw him with Soundgarden a couple years ago, at 50 his voice still sounding just as amazing as did back in the 90s when I first started listening to as teen. No one sings like him anymore, had the best rock voice I ever heard in my life, I play his music loud in his memory, gone but never forgotten,RIP Chris Cornell 😢🎸😇🙏😍😍😍🤘🤘🤘
There never was and never will be another rock artist as perfect as Chris Cornell.

This song is masterpiece. It sounds so upbeat and happy, yet the lyrics are dark as black water. Metaphorically that's the life of the drug user. RIP Chris Cornell. Love his music
Can I get a "hell yeah" from anyone that thinks the range this man had on his voice is unmatched in today's shit auto tuned mainstream garbage. RIP sir you are missed and we need more of you back on this planet.
Cornell had a voice that would make the angels jealous. His voice was one of the most unique and gifted in musical history. God Bless you Chris Cornell.
Fukking drowning in alcohol over her while listening to this song. Can't stand the pain nor the burden. Thank you for packing this up together. Wish I'd seen you live.
I absolutely love Chris playing this solo. I can't even begin to tell you how much I will miss you. Whatever happened to Chris, was an unexpected, absolutely a tragidy. I cried for you, yes I did. I lost my head when I heard the news too. RIP
What a cool down to earth guy . Maybe its because we are the same age and middle children from and Irish catholic family. But i connect with his unfiltered sense of humor and enjoy listening to him talk almost as much as his music. I also think that if it were not for getting back on heavy pharmaceuticals again he would still be here. Those drugs sucked the life out of him and allot of other creative people as well.Chris had shoulder pain so he started taking pain meds . Based on his history his doctor should have never prescribed him what he did .That was all it took for him to go back down that road .So when your doctors start pushing pain meds for minor things don`t accept it .They are more powerful than you think.Stay clean ,stay alive
Hope the bloke who was talking during the concert/video realised exactly what he has missed and i hope It haunts him every day, amazing passion and singing CC 😍❤️
I had the luxury of seeing him in this tour when he stopped in Chile, a few weeks before this or few days after, don't recall well but he really just needed that guitar and voice to keep us all on our feet feeling all the feels, best singer of his generation, among the best of all time, hands down. RIP.
I teared up hearing this because it's simply amazing he's singing that well AND playing those chords all at the same time. Incredible and one of a kind, Rest in Peace.
Saw Chris for the first time as Soundgarden opened for GnR way back in the day, I was blown away by his presence and power......also very jealous of him because god gave him everything looks, talent and brains !! that day he could have had any chick he wanted!!
As someone who just learned this song on guitar, it's incredible watching him sing while playing. I know singing while playing guitar in general is difficult, but I have personal experience and therefore personal respect when it comes to preforming and singing this song lol.
@@fasthow223 Chris was actually a pretty technical player and writer. Look at his solo stuff. Preaching the end of the world has like 27 different chords changes.
Brother, if u have learned to play and sing this song simultaneously, that is indeed an accomplishment. Carrying the rhythm and chord changes is not so terribly difficult alone. But every time i try to throw a few lyrics in, the whole house of cards falls apart and I'm stuck looking like Steve Vai in the showdown at the end of "Crossroads."🤣
Really hope higher (sound board quality version) of such performances are officially released later; for Chris may be gone but he lives on in us through his beautiful music and the least his music deserves his audio devoid of the non-important chatter of those who did not appreciate him any better!
I could only imagine how fun it would be to play and sing like that. It was plenty fun to just watch! Plenty of your music put a note in my life's soundtrack. I'll never forget ya!
I love you Chris. I know you're out there somewhere. I hear you in the vibrations of my guitar; of everyones guitars. You live on and one day I will find you. Thank you Chris
Such an incredible talent. He had so much more to give the world with his music. Thank God he gave us what he did though! Hope he's found peace wherever he is.
His, and of course mr thaylls use of alternate tunings made them unique in a diverse genre that was the 90s. His song writing and vocals alone we are not worthy of, but his guitar playing often gets forgotten
I saw Soundgarden last summer & it kicked ass... Chris Cornell is just AMAZING!!! The videos are cool but my speakers aren't big enough. There's nothing better then seeing your favorite band live. Its our right of passage... Live indelibly, listen stentorian & love inFainity!! :-)
One day not long ago I tried to sing this song on a lark Not thinking that I'd be able to do it because his voice is so powerful and so unique. You could have knocked me over with a feather when I realized that I could actually do it and I could actually do it well. So I went to karaoke and I sing it and the crowd went ape shit! I'm finally learning how to play guitar and this is one of the first songs I want to learn how to play, but I'm really interested in finding out what the tuning is.
How come know nobody personally who sees in this music what I see? But I'm happy I'm not the only one to enjoy this, I'm with you guys :) Chris was a genius.
i gota a few off the best singers in this era that i luv to death but without debate c.cornell has always been my no.1 without one doubt he is magic and a gift that something put him here to for us to enjoy!. in no order at all layne, chester, kirt all fukin brilliant miss all u fukers full proper voieces 🤘
As the cantor's son came from a divine line, you did justice for the instrument crying out from The Wailing Wall by playing your messages of song. Rick Reuben made a wise choice. Thank you Chris for showing your love for us all.
Never was a huge SG fan. I tend to like vocals more like Layne's and Lanegan's, over Chris'. However, this is my favorite SG song! It's wonderful renditions like this from artists that really endear them to their fans and followers. Well done. RIP, Chris you amazing man.
Just lost my car, my home, my wife and my grandfather, this man's music is what brings me peace.
Chris Rodriguez I’m very sorry for all the heavy loss prayers for you but you’re right he brings great joy peace and sadness all in one
Beautiful man beautiful soul beautiful song.
Chris Rodriguez I'm glad this gives you peace brother

I hope you are doing better

True, but I'd just like to note this song IS in the standard 4/4 timing.
It's 2024! Who is still listening? Rest in peace Chris Cornell! 💫🙏 Your spirit moves through your music!!❤❤❤
I will listen to him as far as I'm alive

You know a man is a good singer when he sounds better live than on CD

Chris Cornell probably has one of the top 5 greatest vocals in the history of rock and roll.

Gonna be kinda hard to bless someone who’s dead 😬🤓
Years later who still listens everyday?
I listen to all Chris' projects since I was a child and I don't have any intentions to stop doing it.
He exists beyond time and space.
Me! ♥️
Me
Me too... 🧡🎶✌
Chris' voice doesn't thin out in the higher registers. Once in a generation vocalist. Up there with Jeff Buckley.
yes.
I'd also add Layne Staley in as well. His vocal range, vibrato, and skill was undeniable
thin ice with jeff but i 10000% get what you mean. both absolutely staggering losses. both as human beings and creative gods.
Andy Wood!
Wow he was 100% on point on this version. Amazing! RIP CC. Nobody sings like you anymore....:(
Check out Richie Kotzen
No one will. Or ever did. Rest easy Chris!✌️😎🌻🍻Cheers

Love that “Head Down” intro riff
noticed it too, great song
How tf do you write a song like this? The tuning. The lyrics. The power. He was a genius.
Epic. Magnum opus.
Hot damn Chris was just the best. Such talent, humility, and brilliance. Never will there be another like him.
I bought his CD when I was 13 y.o.
He reminds me very much of my elder brother, or how he used to be.
Rip Henry
Rip Chris Cornell

Favorite Soundgarden song
His voice was glorious!!

Chris was a Musical God among us ...I met him twice..... He actually remembered me from 9 years between meetings..... Will never forget his Greatness
How did that first and second interaction with Chris go? That's really special!
In fairness you streaked each of his concerts across the stage
Chris' music has saved many people including a young troubled me circa '92 You will be remembered forever my friend.
Chris Cornell's music saved my life
Soundgarden really should have gotten into the Hall of Fame. It's too bad.
Disagree. They're better than that lame ass Hall of Fame. They dont need it.
Nominated this year!
Soundgarden are metal not rock n roll .
Michael Service so is metallica
Nobody needs a bunch of stuck of suits to tell them they can rock
I watch this video probably once every quarter of the year. We all miss you Mr. Cornell
Chris was a great guitar player as well as a great singer.
I remember when I saw the video for this song on the MTV , I was blown away!!
Honestly I can't watch the whole video without crying....

This is by far one of his top 5 best songs of all time
It's so cool that he credits Ben Shepherd for the tuning & plays a bit of "Head Down" right at the start.
Miss you every damn day, Chris

Both the guitar playing and singing are difficult in this song. He just does both like anyone else
Yea, a lot of soundgarden guitar is deceptive. The official tablature from the albums shows how complex their music really was.

wow the low-tuned, steely sound of that guitar does the original version justice. and then the voice!
