Actually KingCobraFan, I'm making a general observation on all of these types of videos. In these videos the handlers never are wearing safety glasses. And no matter how well the handlers THINK they know their birds of prey, these are still wild animals which can be unpredictable at times.
That bird looks UNBELIEVABLY stressed!! A hood would have curbed much of that stress. Comfort and safety of the bird should always be the number one concern.
yes I am aware, I just thought maybe you were involved in doing some captive breeding since they are a little lean in the wild. is the P fund doing anything about it.
No captive breeding on my part, strictly videography. I don't know if The Peregrine Fund has a program specifically targeting the Harpy; maybe ask on Facebook or their website.
I feel some people are disconnected from nature no matter how close. The bird is hungry and that's why he's acting like that. Also there is someone's stressful energy in the room that's off putting to this bird.
This kind of raptorial animal should be displayed in it's natural habitat ONLY. This is definitely looking abusive to this sensitive bird with FLASHBULBS going off ? Should not be permitted.
I love Harpy's, there amazing birds
Handsome Harpy Eagle. I have never seen one. The Eagle is so big and she is so little. Thank you for sharing.
Grace Gabrielsen You're welcome, Grace. Glad you liked it.
The Harpy Eagle was annoyed by all the damn camera flashes. I don' understand why idiots do that. Plain rude!
The harpy Eagle is the king of all eagles.. it's claws are the same size of a grizzly bear claws
Caleb Natanael that one on screen is half of size of a female so imagine a 20 pound female.
@@The7mikalo The females can attain almost twice the _weight_ but around 30% taller. They don't actually look twice the size.
What an incredible bird
Like a giant goshawk! LOL
Cal is such a beautiful bird. His eyes are humongous.
+Can't Touch This Thanks for your comments. Cal IS a beautiful bird!
Just imagine keeping this beautiful bird as a pet
Oof that is going to be a challenge as long as if you are wildlife expert
All those camera flashes are just wrong
Ladies and gentlemen!...
Behold the modern world velociraptor!!
:O
And it's equally scary
" The World Most Powerful Bird . "
Nice video, tnx 4posting. Question though, wouldn't it be wise to wear saftey glasses?
Thanks, Harry. If you're referring to Laura, the lady handling Cal, I'm sure she feels that she knows Cal perfectly well and that she's in no danger.

The flashes might be wrong, but this is how w learn about these birds. And I believe he has been doing this for quite some time. He is used to it.

Well, its nice to see a few of them here. Hope to see one up close some day. Thank you for responding. Hawk on!
You too, Scott.

Desmond Anderson um how about the bright camera flashes
Your arm must be getting tired
niel, how many Harpy eagles are here in the US.
Scott, as you may know, the Harpy is native to Central and South America, so I'm sure the only ones here in NA are either in zoos or privately kept.
I think the eagle is jest trying to kiss her they are very affectionate
They do soar, they do.
Most of the Harpy eagles I find in these videos are male.
I guess the females are much harder to handle.
scary they get twice that size
Ist nicht gerade schön , solch tolle Tiere in Gefangenschaft zu halten , reicht denen nicht Haustiere ?
It looks tiny

I have four eagle birds
Wow! You're very fortunate!!
Treat those beautiful birds well!
