This pattern of having this windows where we sign bloody amazing talents likes Jota, Abada, Kyogo, Hatate, CCV, Frimpong or in the past guys like Sinclair, Wanyama, Eddie, Dembele, Ledley, Ajer - heck even guys like Christie and Armstrong... but then go on to sell them all and replace them with the worst options that the club can just about justify spending money on is chronic and I can't take it anymore. It is just a constant pattern of behaviour, we'll have one season where the recruitment suddenly looks like we've turned a corner and we finally found a winning method, but we seem to immediately scrap it after that and just go on to downsize in the quality of signings for a good 3 or 4 seasons before fans get so fed up or even worse, the method means we lose a league title (as we still could mathematically do this season) that the board then turn it around and then go full pelt into the market to find great talent again to get fans back on side. Wouldn't be nice, if we just showed some consistency behind the scenes as well as, demanding we see consistency on the pitch?
A "90 minute performance" is a subjective term but to me it boils down to playing well in each half OR having the game put to bed early enough that the final 20-30 mins is played in testimonial mode etc... In betting terms it'd be - Celtic Halftime/Fulltime So, How many league games this season have we been winning at HT and then gone on to collect all three points? - 15 Also How many league games have we won both halves? - 8 So less than half of our league games this season have we been winning at HT and then gone on to secure all 3pts. And in less than a quarter of our league games have we won the 1st half AND won the second half. Obviously it is not possible for any team to play well in every minute of every game and "Winning ugly" in some matches is always a part of any title winning season but I would suggest that 8 out of 33 games where we've won both halves, is a very low figure and certainly backs up the perception that we've not put in too many "90 minute performances"
@@20MinuteTims Yeah 8 but that criteria does exclude the 7-1 vs Dundee as it was 6-0 at HT so technically we didn't win both halves in that match. Again with you guys ! James Forrest is a must to.play a significant role in the next games. He gets what it takes to play for Celtic, he scored one and made the 3rd, what else is BR expecting? Hail Hail
It would absolutely help the team to put the wingers on the same side as their preferred foot. Kuhn on the left and Yang/Forrest on the right. Our main issue is not keeping our width and not getting crosses in early enough, if at all.
Scales at fault for 2 goals possibly even 3 plays everyone onside for the 3rd and the 2nd goal should’ve been more aggressive. The only reason why he plays is because he’s left footed and play out a press easier
I thought we made it tough for ourselves in this semi-final when we SOLD STARFELDT LAST YEAR SO HE COULD BE CLOSER TO HIS BIRD. Keen-eyed observation I know.
James and AJ looked really good against Aberdeen but it was scary having Forrest play for almost 60 mins. I remember thinking when he was subbed in at 60 mins that 30 mins might be too much for him and then we get the OT lmao. Yang needs to either go out on a loan or be sold. Right now the only reason he starts imo is because Forrest cannot play an entire game. The only times Yang have been looking good has been when he comes in against tired defenders or when his job was so incredibly simple even he could follow instructions (beat 1 guy, either pass AJ whos running on your inside or cross to Idah/Maeda) like he did vs Motherwell(?)
Miovski is a quality player for me... would be interested to see what someone like him could do at a club like ours. Just because he's been doing in SPFL with Aberdeen consistently for two seasons on the bounce now shouldn't be cause enough to not sign a player - in the same vein we'd all find it insulting that an EPL club would refuse Kyogo.
Soon to be 25 year old Miovski does have some positive attributes, rather than being an out & out overall ''quality player'' & we can debate that all day long, but the fact remains Aberdeen have overpriced him in the market place & we know they have because NOBODY would pay them what they wanted for him in the last January transfer window & that would have been at least £5 million & probably nearer to £7 million, when his actual market value price is £3.5 million absolute max & similarly the soon to be 29 years old zombie Shankland, with the Swinecastle rabble also ridiculously over pricing him in the market place & wanting as close as possible to £5 million for him when he's only worth half of that maximum....
Kyogo on the left with Idah up top from now until the end of the season. Yang & Palma can’t be trusted. I’d also put Rocky in for Scales. I’m still not sure if Cal Mac should play when not fit, I’d play Iwata or Bernardo and bring Cal Mac on at 60 mins to see games out. 6 cup finals. We have the players. Your patter about nawrocki makes no sense at a basic level. Scales plays we concede 3. Nawarocki comes in, clean sheet. Scales back in we concede 3 to a bottom 6 team. Nawrocki has only seen us concede more than 1 goal in one game all season where he has played
Can't win trophies developing players,we need the sleeves rolled up attitude for the run-in,some of them don't have that, gives me the fear watching them
Rodgers played Turnbull ahead of Hatate at the start of the season simply because Hatate's head had completely gone & ONLY wanted away & he still does & then as often happens in such instances, lengthy injuries then start to occur to the player concerned & as completely took place in Hatate's case & as for Nawrocki, he too has proved to be injury prone but certainly overall would seem to a better player when compared to Scales on an individual basis, but sadly neither of them inspires great confidence going into the six Cup Finals left to play for season 2023 - 2024....

Nothing would make happier if James forrest alone secures us this league, he'll give us atleast a handful of goals from here on out.
This season has been hard going because of the signings simple as that. With exception of Idah they have offered nuthin. Be happy to fall over the line this season and draw a line under it. Big Summer ahead
I'm left with Ptsd.
And btw.. if anyone thinks we'll get thru x5 league games without dropping points they are delusional. Cany stop conceding goals in dying mins. Disaster.
But we done it🇮🇪💪
Saturday showed that despite all the laughing at rangers recently and the gap we have, we are in no position to be complacent or cocky...far too many passengers in r side...if get over the line ot would be a great achievement but win or lose I'd have 75% out and replaced
Yang has the football brain of a 12 year old..
does rodgers tires teams out? does he think he's working with a squad the size of chelsea
Brilliant point m8, also his ball distribution is far better..
Can't win trophies developing players,we need the sleeves rolled up attitude for the run-in,some of them don't have that, gives me the fear watching them
😅😅😅😅q
Heard Beaton getting two of last 3 Celtic league games unfknbeleivable....couldn't make it up
Can't accept rodgers judgement that nawrocki is worse than scales, as its the same man who thought turnbull should start over hatate
@@frankbrennan1619 what are you waffling about 😂😂 where's turnbull right now? Was his head gone or is that only for foreigners? 🤡
Scales and Taylor are not good enough! Cut and paste for every podcast! Btw Johnston needs to step up as he’s been poor this season, defensively!
Lism scales was to blame for 2 of the goals, a wish hed drop him n play big nawrocki🍀
