Interesting fact. In one of the official episodes of SpongeBob, there is a reference to this creepypasta. And the sound of jumpscream, just from this moment. It's cool when some companies are referred to memes, creepypasta. This shows that companies communicate with their audience and appreciate fan creativity. (or they just want to attract people to the dying franchise by using references to some popular phenomena)

Sometimes some things that are designed to scare do not work for children, the same many crippypasts probably will not scare modern children anymore, given what kind of childish content there is on RUclips, their psyche cannot be broken twice.
And sometimes, on the contrary, some harmless things can suddenly cause the same crippypast to appear. I'm from Russia, and we have a TV company called "VID" and its logo scared children (me too) of the 90s and noughties, although it's just a human mask. I remember myself as a child being afraid of a man with stubble from the news, I don't know why.
As for me, there's nothing wrong with adding some creepy moments. It even tempers and arouses interest a little. For example, the scene with Maleficent and Aurora from "sleeping beauty" is creepy, but now I remember it with warmth and even somehow remember those feelings of horror when I watched it. Even the same one Sonic.EXE . We used to be afraid of all this, but now we gather together and remember it warmly

@user-hv7sf8oo1o Some creepypastas aren't just jumpscares and spooky stuff, tho. Some may contain GORE or suicide moments, just like RED MIST, something that a child's mind probably can't handle, even when I get to watch something gory by accident, it makes me feel disgusted and the picture of what I saw keeps hunting me for weeks.
It's ok if it refers to creepy stuff that a child might just be a little afraid of, I guess. But still, SpongeBob was never supposed to look too scary

​@@TheBlackFoxDude Well, such references can be inserted indirectly, as jokes for adults, children will not understand anything, but adults will take the hint, smile and want to watch other episodes. I agree that it is better not to mention topics such as suicide and blood bluntly in children's cartoons.
Although, moving away from the topic, SpongeBob is not really for only children, at least the first three seasons, which are considered the best. Reviewing them now, you can find interesting details that you didn't notice before, which carry an interesting moral.
