From Indiana, Shawn Kemp "Reign Man" was on the court acting a fool. Omg idk about you guys but he made me laugh and was a tremendous competitor and athlete.
Not to mention he also had one of the best jump shots at the power forward spot. A lot of people look at him as just a dunker but even towards the end of his career when he gained weight he still had that 15 16 foot turnaround jumper that was deadly. People forget how good of a jump-shooter Shawn Kemp was also.
@Sudhir Kakar first of all who the heck are you? and 2nd of all Shawn Kemp did have a real good outside jumper. if you ever watch open court on TNT they had a segment called, players who didn't reach their full potential and Shawn Kemp was one of them. Kenny Smith said even in Cleveland when kemp put on the weight he still had that jumper. Kenny Smith also say that's why he laugh when people used to compare Blake Griffin when he was with the Clippers to Shawn Kemp because Shawn Kemp could knockdown 13 or 14 foot ft jumper with consistency you couldn't leave them open. I don't need some Joe Blow like you on the internet telling me Shawn Kemp didn't have no jumper, when I watched Shawn Kemp play basketball in the 90s and a lot of other great players you're not talkin to some youngin.
Thats right ,he was amazing, agile, explosive, great leaper great at both ends.Dunk variety of ways, rebound, block shots, hit jump shots, occasional 3s,decent FT shooter, his Seattle days were something else. Reign Man and Glove great duo !
Shawn Kemp was not just one of my favorite players but also one of the players I style my game after, especially shot blocking. I love sending someone's shot into the 6th row or across the street when I'm on the playground. It's a psychological stamp just like bodying someone with a dunk. I love contact dunks! To the host of this channel, shot blocking can't be taught. It takes timing that can't be taught & is a gift. You either have it or you don't. Fortunately for myself I have it along with my pogo stick reactions. My coaching staff is amazed at how I can react. If you enjoyed Shawn Kemp & haven't seen my ALL-TIME Favorite & G.O.A.T. of dunking VINCE CARTER, I HIGHLY recommend his career highlights including his NBA SLAM DUNK CONTEST CHAMPIONSHIP & THE DUNK OF DEATH IN THE OLYMPICS. I GUARANTEE YOU WILL LOVE MR. VINSANITY! Keep up the great work! This is my 1st time seeing you. Hope I can help you with learning the game of basketball I dearly love so much. God bless you.
Shawn Kemp was a dunking machine!! That last dunk he did was called the Lister Blister! Alton Lister was talking trash the last game and Kemp paid him back with that sick dunk!! I would like to see you react to Clyde Drexler, Larry Johnson, Reggie Miller, Pistol Pete Maravich, Scottie Pippen, Lisa Leslie! Keep doing what you do, you reactions are entertaining!!
He is still my favorite player ever!!!, about what u asked of blocking shots it's true. You can learn and practice your position so you don't foul while attempting a block, but it requires a feel for the game and TIMING, those can't be teach. Specially timing, there are people that are born with it and are great blockers without being tall.
I like how you're so thorough in ju just looking up people and getting a feel to them before you watch the videos, I've been a sports fan my entire life so know most of what you look up but it's nice to see you do some looking up.
Most of his dunks are him jumping over people and him taking you to the rim, he was fearless and a warrior , no one could stop him, even MJ and Berkeley got posterized by Kemp
He and Griffey, Jr. were 19 yr old beasts in Seatle at the same time. Blocking is a skill, the best rely on not just athleticism but timing, using the off hand, and balance to avoid body fouling the other person.
Definitely a forgotten monster on the court that some never heard of or forgotten about. Kemp was a BEAST in the paint. Thanks for shedding light on a forgotten legend.
Thanks for great video as always. Shawn Kemp was the man back in the 90s. Shout out to his partner in crime Gary Payton. One of the best duo's to ever do it. Showtime at its finest
Yeeees! requested Shawn Kemp a couple weeks ago. Love the reactions haha! He had some amazing dunks indeed. Funny you felt bad for the rim after he slam it so thunderous xD I tried watching your other sports videos, sadly basketball pretty much my thing. I`m all in on your reactions on NBA players. Shawn Kemp and Gary Payton back in the days was sick, one of the most entertaining to watch. Thank you for this Allure Vision! -Peace and love
My fav player growning up. got to see him play in 94 when i was in san antonio and i seen him in 02-03 season when he was with the magic here in cleveland
new here just want to say i appreciate your videos so much. i legit have convos with you in my mind explaining basketball lol watching your reviews and reactions creates a basketball spark in me
Shawn Kemp was my favorite NBA Super star ⭐️...another Super star NBA player is Vince Carter he stuck his whole arm in the rim... he brought Dunking back when to me it was dead... I was curious about the tattoo on the left side of your arm.., I couldn’t get a look at that if you don’t mind sharing🙂🙂🙂
Dominque Wilkens had similar highlights too. Interesting old school highlights, Pistol Pete Maravich. Different type of ballplayer, ball handling, passing, shooting.
Him and GP are the reasons I became a Sonics fan. Human highlight film and freak of nature. Impossible to watch these highlights without getting the goosebumps.
I remember him coming to a HS game in Elkhart County, Indiana (Fairfield HS), ... and I said to others around me that he was going to be a professional B-ball player. He was simply a "man" playing with boys in high school. One time he came around the baseline, behind the backboard, ... and I just though he was going to lay it up, ... but no, what did he do?!?, ... come up from behind the backboard, and slam it home with such authority. He had a couple other such exhilarating dunks. I wish I had that game on tape, ... that was quite the performance, ... well worth the price of admission.
Hey dude i'm Irish so we dont get a lot of nba coverage over here but after watchin this vid i just wanted to ask ya is he highly regarded over there like lebron or that? i'm just askin cos i get its a highlight reel and theyre not gonna show bad shit but he honestly looks savage af here..it seems like he cud do it all?
@@damotheman4196 yes he could do it all when he was playing at his prime back in the '90s...a good passer and ball handler for his size at 6'10" and hight iQ player too...he led the seattle supersonics to the nba finals in 1996.
WOW you must have read my mind. I was getting ready to ask you to do a Shawn Kemp video. I don't think there has ever been a player in the NBA that is more athletic than Shawn Kemp.
Shawn Kemp is the only player I've watched who I thought should've won the NBA Finals MVP despite being on the losing team. His team lost to the Bulls in the 1996 finals, but Kemp was really great in that series. It's true that shot blocking is mainly a talent that you have or you don't, but there are things a player can do to get better at it. It's a combination of timing, discipline, and vertical leap. There are plenty of players who have the natural timing and jumping ability to be good shot blockers, but they don't have the discipline to stay on the ground until the shooter actually leaves the floor, so they get fooled by shot fakes. There are guys who aren't the greatest leapers, but their timing is so good that they always seem to manage to get a hand on shots.
@@DarknessFlameMedia That's not true. Height helps, but it's not the most important thing about good shot blockers. When I played in high school, I was the best shot blocker we had. I'm only 6'1." The guys I was assigned to guard were often 3-4 inches taller than me, and I blocked their shots 4 or 5 times a game. It's timing and instincts.
My number 1, I was 8 and always waited to see him and was the era with MJ and others. This man make me love basketball and be strong in every sence of life. Just be strong
Hi there, I believe I asked you to react to Shawn Kemp. Shawn Kemp was a big name in the league in the 90's and all of that stuff was legal in the league then. Shawn has been up for the Hall of Fame several times over the years always make it to the final vote. He was overshadowed by Michael Jordan and played in a small market. I was lucky enough to see him play several times courtside he would dunk so hard that at times you could see smoke come off the net. That video actually left out my favorite dunk which is where her dunked over Dennis Rodman and basically sat on Rodman's shoulders during the '96 NBA Finals. I loved this video thanks!!!
@@Triciamichelle_yt Be sure to check in to the infamous game 7 between the ATL Hawks and the BOS Celtics. One of the best battle of two superstars going head to head ever. Nique put up like 50 something but the Celts still pulled it out. I was 16 growing up in Metro ATL and it was heart breaking. But one of the best duels ever!
Love your eagerness to learn these athletes and what makes them special to all fans worldwide. I have a special request for Kawhi Leonard's defense highlights. He's an excellent offensive player, but his defensive highlights are extremely entertaining. Much love from Louisiana 👍💯.
He didn’t have good academic grades and couldn’t play in a division 1 team he enroll in a community college and then he was drafted when the nba allowed kids to be drafted without any college time
In his early career he only took a few months of Junior College and went into the NBA for his size and rebounding. He was a dunker at first but over time became a 3 point shooter as he got older to prolong his career. Blocking shots and all the 1 vs 1 or weak side help shot blockers was all about hustle and timing. Having hops helps, though too.
I believe there are some elements of shot-blocking that can be learned. Body positioning, using the correct hand to defend a left-handed shot vs. a right-handed shot, recognizing when an offensive player is going to shoot vs. fake a shot, arms up instead of at your sides, etc. Some players have great reaction times and awareness, which adds to their skillset.
Shawn Kemp dunked on every BIG MAN center/power forward in the league during his NBA Career in his prime years accept for Shaq. And even Shaq respected Shawn Kemps game. FACTS 👌
I told you earlier pretty girl. Kemp was a beast during his Sonic years. Thanks to his power dunks, rebounding and blocking shots...even MJ had respect for Kemp back then.
Definitely need to check out Pisol Pete Maravich. He revolutionized ball handling. Dude was pulling Allen Iverson moves half a century before anyone else.
Omg, you've finally did Shawn Kemp! I knew you would enjoy his ferocious vicious (and stylish) dunks! The last one where he pointed to the dude is called the Lister Blister because the player's name was Alton Lister. If you see the whole play go down, he looked like a full back going into the lane about to DESTROY that rim and anyone under it!!! The last dunk god you have to do now is Dominique Wilkins. Find his best 100 plays on youtube. Nique, Kemp, and Vince Carter are the 3 dunk gods. Pure entertainment to watch. After watching their videos you just feel different lol.
Kemp + Payton = NBA Jam!
totally agree since mj wasnt there. chitown boy here kemp had the second best hangtime in that era
