robert, i just finished the F91 HGUC and I have to say that, so far, it is the best HGUC Gunpla I have done. The design of the model is so different than the other HGUC models, I really like the look and the colors. It looks great on the stand as well.
You know Robert, I really have to say that I like it when you do these reviews in multable parts such as with the F91. It really gives you a lot of room to explain the finer nuances of these models. You have definitely convinced me to go out and get this model. Once again, great job with the review, I thoroughly enjoyed going through all 3 parts and hope to see another review real soon!
Absolutely spot-on about your comment with F91 from part 1...I find the design to be one of the more realistic of all the gundam designs....lots of vents for heat dissipation as expected from a high performance suit, sleek, compact and highly mobile...My absolute favorite....and the model itself is excellent to boot. As I remember, I only ever had to use glue in 2 spots (to seal the seamlines of front covers of the VSBR's). Excellent review.
@TripleCCC05 the movie was actually shortened from a planned series for tv. that's why in some area that it didn't seem to connect. I'm not sure what you mean by "better" kit for the x-bone and Victory. the x-bone (F97) is developed from the F91 that's why the kit also uses some of the frame of the F91. The Victory ver. Ka MG kit just came out not long ago.
hey Robert, I'm building the F91 MG right now and the legs do have the 180 degree bend, the problem is the outer case around part of the inner frame shifts and prevents the full bend, You just have to keep it stationary relative to the inner frame or glue it to the frame. love the reviews!
@TripleCCC05 another thing with Ver. 2.0 is that they are mostly done for the popular model kits that originally sold well. I do wish there are few more that should be ver. 2.0... GP01/Fb (could use a inner frame we're now acustom to), Nu (fix the damn proportion), Sazabi (inner frame and better posability), the ZZ (proportion, inner frame), and the Ez-8 (proportion mostly)
Looks great. I think the base actually adds a LOT to the kit. a lick of paint could do wonders. Thanks for the great review, rrobbert. It was a great watch
Great Review!! I was disappointed by a few other reviews claiming the model was flimsy and had loose joints and wasn't posable, etc etc, but this model seems excellent and met my expectations, all though I will do a little sprucing up with gundam markers on the vents and shoulder fins etc, to get the proper colors on them. But still a great review, this is my favorite gundam of any series or movie and I have decided to buy it! It'll be well worth the hard earned money. Also, your english? A+
Watching the review as I finish my F 91. It really is a great kit, and my favorite Master Grade I've built. Now to wonder if Bandai will ever make a MG Vigna Ghina...
F91 is definitely my favourite protagonist Gundam from the whole franchise. Got this kit a few weeks ago and even i was kind've shocked at how sturdy and posable it all seems.
i recently finished my f91 but it seems what you said is contrary to what i am experiencing right now.... the parts arent tight ang sometimes it comes off.... the feet drops, and also the hands....
Great review as always, have you ever put together the older 1/60 scale kit that I believe was one of the earliest kits to pioneer the inner frame technology
@TripleCCC05 I'm not sure what exactly do you feel that the Victory ver. Ka needs to be changed? it's very well done by katoki down to the last detail of it's transformation. as for the x-bone, can't comment on that since I haven't bought one yet.
@mechaman13 well, mainly the torso of the EZ-8 is off. if you look at it from the top down and from the side the chest armor sticks out too much compare to the battle sequence shots of the ez-8 vs gouf custom. also the ez-8 and rx79 did have a smaller torso in the anime when you see the full shot of the mecha. the rx-79 doesn't look as off because it doesn't have that extra front armor. that's how i feel anyway. lol
Rrobbert184! I just wanna say Thank you! I'm always skeptical about buying Master Grade Kits. But your reviews coupled along with vegeta8259, and Jabman025's. I get full coverage of what is Good and Bad about Kits I want to buy! ever since I've subscribed to your channel, I have been happy with ALL the kits I've bought! This one, F-91 is my favorite!
i just got this kit and i am loving it! but prime92 I know what u mean some of the joins are loose namely the elbows and the wait to leg conncetions! and the beam fifle doesnt wanna stay in his hand. but other than tht its amazing! Ilove the kit and thanks rrobbert184 for showing this to me and inspiring me to buy it! (to fix the joints i just applied a coat of clear paint to make them thicker, works like a charm)
Great review, I have my HG F91 sitting right here and I was thinking about getting the MG. F91's my second favorite Gundam (Crossbone being #1) and your review really makes me want to go out and buy it right now, thanks! xD
I find it odd that you say your kit stays together so well. My F91 Harrison Custom has very loose joints due the the fact that it's plastic on plastic. It's ok if the joints don't move. However, I knowticed you didn't move the parts in the reveiw.
@TripleCCC05 well IMO those thing you said are very minor. it's like saying the Victory doesn't have the individual fingers like the F91 and because of it it needs a Ver. 2.0. I have a feeling on you are not fully understanding why there are ver. 2.0 kits out there from Bandai. ver. 2.0 is meant to correct a lot of the original kit's scale issue and frame integraty issues (inner frame). i.e. the ver.1.0 Zeta would easy fall apart with it's loose joints. newer kits do not have these issues.
Id just like to say that I love your videos and with recommendation I went with this for my first mg gundam...I'm really excited for it to come in the mail and I love your videos
Hey there Robert, It's been a while since I first saw this. I just wanted to let you know that this review, did in fact, convince me to buy this kit. It's been a wonderful kit and really does give a great impression when you see it. Though, it is really small... especially for an MG...
You should've done a comparison with the Freedom, too, since Freedom's design borrowed a whole lot from the F91. And it's funny, I usually like bigger, beefier designs like ZZ or Ex-S, but F91 still manages to be one of my top 5 favorite designs. Anyway, would you say F91 sets the standard for the 15m class as far as MG's go?
I just bought 1 ver Ka kit and that was the Wing. I guess I was right about my initial assumption that the ver Ka kits being not that poseable due to their frame design... I reviewed different ver Ka kit's construction and compared them with other MGs and add your reviews itself, just proves my assumption correct. Final note: Forget ver Ka kits no matter how good they look, I'll just wait for the non ver Ka. Good thing I didn't decide to buy the Unicorn then... ^^ Thanks for the reviews ^^
My time building mine went rather well. Still ticked at myself for breaking 2 pieces but luckily not very important pieces. I have only one issues and that is the right upper leg the piece connecting to the ball peg that connects the thigh and connects to the waist. Its wiggly. But aside from that Great Kit no poly caps I LOVE IT!!!
@FrankW1029 I have seen the movie, and that's why I said I have mixed feelings about it. What I meant by better kit was, another version(like Ver. 1.5 or something like that) of the crossbone and the victory gundam model kits. Hope that clears things up for you.
@FrankW1029 Well, what Robert said about it, you know, the beam shield not staying up, weight issues with the Crossbone Gundam full cloth in weight issues. Things like that. Those are what I meant.
The vsbr system looks cool. I guess i have a thing for gundams with stuff on their back, hehe. And if that wasn't enough, they are sneaky beam weapons to boot!
for any review that says there are loose joint or anything on the MG Gundams I always had a good laugh because for all the MGs I have in my collection (30+) there are maybe 1 or 2 older kits that have issues. other than that I have always look at the reviewer saying that they have loose joints that they didn't know how to make sure all the parts are tight and follow the steps by steps. on the f91 the only loose part is the face mask.
I don't know if it's just that specific Full Cloth version of the X-1 or something, but my X-1 Ver. Ka isn't anywhere near that loose. In fact, My MG F91 is more loose than my X-1.
I have Harrison's type and sadly some of the parts snapped. Mainly the right VSBR's inside parts which is sad. Most parts are also loose. What I find weird is that the color is more purple than blue. I also agree that Victory is blockish. Out of all of the three smaller Gundams I like the Crossbone mainly because I like close combat Mobile suits.
I love this Gundam! I admit, I have mixed feelings about the movie, but the Gundam itself is the real winner. I only wish they had used this Gundam in more games like Encounters in Space and not wait until now to use it in Dynasty Warriors Gundam. Do you think they'll ever come out with a better kit for the Crossbone or Victory Gundams?
HOLY SHNIKES!!! what gundam is that in the intro?! It is so shiny! Thats a disappointment with the V gundam... I was very much looking forward to getting it.
Just got the 30th anniversary edition of this kit. And I have to say. It's a nightmare. I've had the face break, a part in his VSBR break, and also my dog ate the piece that holds his thigh on (way to go, mutt). So, I guess I'm screwed in building this one unless I can get spare parts. :'(
@EvilEyeSigma yeah seriously O.O so far this is the best F91 review others who making the review made it looked worthless like its loosing everywhere, cant put anything right on the hands rrobbert's vid is well organised, seriously he changed my mind again for wanting to buy this kit O.O
This Gundam design like a race car, the back is the coolest part and unique to this Gundam (G-savior doesn't count). Now, it just need a really good SD version of this
i just bought f91 30th anniversary version and just finished the kit last night. i am so disappointed bcoz the f91 i bought has some loose joints as well. (especially at the finger). anyway, It's good to have some pc (polycaps) on gundam kits, but just dont too much. that is my opinion though.
man after unicorn gundam, i swore off any transforming gundams. But this one looks nice, too bad it doesnt have a perfect grade ^^;. just wanna say that these reviews always brighten my day ^^, decent reviews w/o an annoying voice are hard to come by XD.
The head and especially the shoulders of the MG F91 are a little too big. Aside from that, the kit is great with all of it's accessories and even the custom base/diorama.

still the best gundam reviewer out there

hey Robert, I'm building the F91 MG right now and the legs do have the 180 degree bend, the problem is the outer case around part of the inner frame shifts and prevents the full bend, You just have to keep it stationary relative to the inner frame or glue it to the frame. love the reviews!
I'm blown away...
I really think I have to take a look at the movie sometime, because this kit is incredible!
Great review, rrobbert!

Great 3 part review Robert. You really got the point across how much you like it.
I noticed the same thing as I have the same issue of looseness of some parts and armour components of my F91 Harrison Martin custom kit.

I cannot wait for this baby to arrive in the mail. super excited to put it together!
Great review as always, have you ever put together the older 1/60 scale kit that I believe was one of the earliest kits to pioneer the inner frame technology
rob when are you coming back ;_;
@TripleCCC05 I'm not sure what exactly do you feel that the Victory ver. Ka needs to be changed? it's very well done by katoki down to the last detail of it's transformation.
as for the x-bone, can't comment on that since I haven't bought one yet.
@deon1204
it was a movie. 1991- Gundam F91. timeline set 30 years after events of Char's Counterattack movie.

@Prime92 i also have the F91 Harrison CUstom but my seems to say together very well. Its really stiff and i dont have anyproblem with it yet.

Great review of a great looking kit, I too love the F91 design. and I plan to get the Harrison version because I prefer the Titans-esque colors.

Would using a bit of grease or something similar on the joints help alleviate the tightness of the joints, and help with the mobility?
@FrankW1029 What's wrong with the proportions of the Ez-8? I have the RX-79 [G] and the proportions seem just right.
I just bought 1 ver Ka kit and that was the Wing. I guess I was right about my initial assumption that the ver Ka kits being not that poseable due to their frame design... Thanks for the reviews ^^
@mechaman13 ooh...and the neck feels a little short. I extended the neck a little on mine.
My time building mine went rather well. Still ticked at myself for breaking 2 pieces but luckily not very important pieces. I have only one issues and that is the right upper leg the piece connecting to the ball peg that connects the thigh and connects to the waist. Its wiggly. But aside from that Great Kit no poly caps I LOVE IT!!!
ooo this kit looks better than i thought. this is going to be on my wishlist
I can't decide!!!! Which colors should I get?! the harrison or the standard?!
@FrankW1029 I have seen the movie, and that's why I said I have mixed feelings about it.
What I meant by better kit was, another version(like Ver. 1.5 or something like that) of the crossbone and the victory gundam model kits. Hope that clears things up for you.
great review bro! you covered just bout all i needed to know about this kit. now i gotta have it!
I feel for you , rrobbert. I have the same problems with my Ryuubi gundam's ball joints. They even tend to fall of.
that is and will always be my fav of the gundams, followed by the origninal and the Mark II of the rx 178.
@FrankW1029 Well, what Robert said about it, you know, the beam shield not staying up, weight issues with the Crossbone Gundam full cloth in weight issues. Things like that. Those are what I meant.
not sure why but I am having trouble putting on the vespers, they will not snap on.
The vsbr system looks cool. I guess i have a thing for gundams with stuff on their back, hehe. And if that wasn't enough, they are sneaky beam weapons to boot!
are the vents in the chest for the engines in the back?
for any review that says there are loose joint or anything on the MG Gundams I always had a good laugh because for all the MGs I have in my collection (30+) there are maybe 1 or 2 older kits that have issues. other than that I have always look at the reviewer saying that they have loose joints that they didn't know how to make sure all the parts are tight and follow the steps by steps.
on the f91 the only loose part is the face mask.
@slashzaku15 thats the Gundam Double X 1/100 HG
this video just answered all my queries for the f91 MG. will get this kit right after i watch the movie. huge UC fanboy here lol..good job robert.
What do you use to edit these videos I'm trying to do one on the mg turn red astray but I don't like how it's coming out
rrobbert184 what were you saying about a top coat in the last part? you didnt finish what you were saying :/
I don't know if it's just that specific Full Cloth version of the X-1 or something, but my X-1 Ver. Ka isn't anywhere near that loose. In fact, My MG F91 is more loose than my X-1.
hey rrobbert184, is it possible to flip the VSBRs, like the Freedom's plasma cannons?
I have watched this video too many times to count as i wait ever so impatiently for mine to arrive at my doorstep.
Did you use gundam marker to do panel lining? black or grey?
The Crossbone is descended from the F91 after all. The model number of the Crossbone is F97 before it was changed to X1.

I only wish they had used this Gundam in more games like Encounters in Space and not wait until now to use it in Dynasty Warriors Gundam. Do you think they'll ever come out with a better kit for the Crossbone or Victory Gundams?
does the harrison custom come with the base
Awesome kit. I might actually pick this up sometime.
does this gundam and the crossbone gundam have a HG model?
HOLY SHNIKES!!! what gundam is that in the intro?! It is so shiny!
Thats a disappointment with the V gundam... I was very much looking forward to getting it.
is it just mine or do the cooling fins break too easily i broke 2 fins when i was trying to install them :(
Doesn't seabook get killed by the black crossbone?
Just got the 30th anniversary edition of this kit. And I have to say. It's a nightmare. I've had the face break, a part in his VSBR break, and also my dog ate the piece that holds his thigh on (way to go, mutt). So, I guess I'm screwed in building this one unless I can get spare parts. :'(
on what gundam show its was on
Hey Soes Someone Know Why The Beam Weapons of The F91 Are Green Instead Of Pink? As Long As I Know, The Earth Federation Beam Weapons Are Always Pink.
@kijodragonfist60 No it's from a movie from the 90's.
so it holds together alot better than crossbone and doesent fall apart
great review im going to rent that movie and then decide if i will buy this gundam because it looks cool.
I guess I'll be avoiding Version Ka's. Thanks .
what are vespers exactly?
@EvilEyeSigma
yeah seriously O.O
so far this is the best F91 review
others who making the review made it looked worthless like its loosing everywhere, cant put anything right on the hands
rrobbert's vid is well organised,seriously
he changed my mind again for wanting to buy this kit O.O
This Gundam design like a race car, the back is the coolest part and unique to this Gundam (G-savior doesn't count).
Now, it just need a really good SD version of this
MG V-GUNDAM and the X-bone are both KA. Also the X-bone have F-91 frame inside. So it just a F-91 mod.
The arm joints gets too tight after a while, you might want to becareful about it. The knee joint is really fragile too after sometime >_
wait is f91 from a new series
i have this gundam... still in the box :) hay pls have a review of MG SINANJU :)
Yeah, no doubt Robert's reviews are more indepth and better produced, but Prime does a good job and covers more HGUC Grunts
can someone tell me can this MG F91 have ALL FINGERS INDIVIDUALLY seperated???? cuz i saw they are individually ball jointed :0 pls help thanks! ;D
You have a thumb, index finger, and then 3 fingers together.
Chris Ritter but can you seperate the 3 fingers? cuz i saw they are all individually ball jointed.
Leung Thomas you can separate them if you want to but it'll be loose.
i just bought f91 30th anniversary version and just finished the kit last night. i am so disappointed bcoz the f91 i bought has some loose joints as well. (especially at the finger). anyway, It's good to have some pc (polycaps) on gundam kits, but just dont too much. that is my opinion though.
Im Soo Exited to get my hands on my New MG F9
man after unicorn gundam, i swore off any transforming gundams. But this one looks nice, too bad it doesnt have a perfect grade ^^;.
just wanna say that these reviews always brighten my day ^^, decent reviews w/o an annoying voice are hard to come by XD.
Can't wait 2 build it
what "tetekeyo" mean??
yeah the VSBR's would kick the hell out of any beam shield or beam cloth without any problem...
@rrobbert184 if destiny gundam vs F91 gundam who would win
@FrankW1029 Ooohhh. I kinda see what you mean.
i love this kit :) i wish we had more polycap-less kits D:
I will buy this kit now.
i wish my F91 Harrison came with the base
and from now...i will make rrobbert's videos as my guide for buying gunplas
The head and especially the shoulders of the MG F91 are a little too big. Aside from that, the kit is great with all of it's accessories and even the custom base/diorama.
well done review =) and now iam going to get a f91 thank you good sir
I reeeeeeeeeeeeally want this model.
@FrankW1029 Oh, okay. I'm sorry for misinterpreting.
Much appreciated.
im not sure the problem lies within me or my kit, 1st, this is 2006 kit and why it dosent have polycap, i dont know why. 2nd, since there is no polycap, mostly all the joint are extremely tight when i built this kit, and frankly, it does have a tons of great movement, but very stiff. 3rd, ppl say that F91 wrist section have 360 degree turning, when im not forcing it to turn, in fact, it just broken. Btw mine is harrison martine version.
+Thomas kok i love f91 and the crossbone units
i love F91 too, that why i concern about these problem such as zero polycap and joint rubbing joint that create stress mark
+thomas kok yea true
Dare I say the F91 is second only to Turn A in power?
Astronopolis no it's not as powerful as the turn a
lern 2 reed gud
+DarcMetal02 ......that's why they said *second* to the Turn A
