I remember the first time I heard about this property. That's when it went up for sale & was purchased for 1 million dollars. On a trip to Memphis, a year or so later, I came to this house and walked back and forth along the fence and gate just like you did, taking photos from every angle. I was hoping the owner would come out and say hello but realized at the time, no one was home. I was dying to see the yard. I knew the pool was filled in & had seen a few rare pics like you showed. Thank you so much for this video. I found it by accident & I couldn't wait to see the drone footage. I loved every second of this video. It was a real treat for me to find this!
I remember like the rest of the world hearing the news of Elvis's passing and the shockwave it created, it coincides with my younger brothers birthday, he was 9 years old, as we approach the anniversary again I find myself looking for more information on the great man's life, this video was super helpful to me in building a better understanding of the young Elvis, thank you very much for you effort.
I Just turn 39 yrs old 2020 and a proud fan of Elvis such a handsome man the most handsome man i have ever seen in my life!! I would've love to have live next door to him. I would invite him avery day! To come over for breakfast, Lunch, and dinner. It would be an honor to open my doors to such a wonderful person and his fam... Love u Elvis🙏❤
Great video, it was amazing to see the back of the house...My first visit to Memphis was in August this year 2017..We did a tour that visited this house..I so felt sad that it looked neglected and in such a bad state..The front door looks awful..Wish i had the money to buy it and restore it to the way Elvis had it..He did so much for the economy of Memphis and Tupelo an still does...
Hi Spa Guy when my daughter and I went to Memphis, on our way to Tupelo our driver asked if we would like to see his home before Graceland WELL we couldn’t wait and it was such a beautiful house, cheers for all you do for the ELVIS fans it’s appreciated 🥰🇬🇧
Thanks for your efforts. Brings home the human side of celebrities. Respect from the UK. Wonder why he left it. Very nice. Glad it was looked after compared to the ranch. People gone, buildings remain. Strange really.
Thanks very much Spa Guy. An interesting video indeed. I'm one of those "crazy Elvis fans" you mentioned for 60 years. Have made two visits to Graceland over time. Still cry at the foot of his grave.
@Dawne Turecki, I am 1 too. Although, I have never gotten to go to Graceland...never saw him in person either. Just stuck at home& appreciate these videos bunches. Ty. I've been outside the gates but had my husband & teen daughter with me. We drove there in 1 day. The cost to just your the house was $35. We could not all go in but my husband encouraged me to go in & they would look around town & return to get me later. An over-whelming sadness came over me. Looking at the defacing of his rock wall...and didn't want to go in alone. SovI passed up the chance. Now I've heard they changed a lot & the price is $175 a ticket. Sad...
Parabéns spa guy por vc consegui entrar na casa do Elvis Presley ainda do jeito que o Elvis deixou aqui no Brasil o numero de fans é grande e fanaticos também viva Elvis Presley
I truly enjoy all your videos and would like to say thank you. I met Elvis when he was doing a concert for the JC's. It was a national convention that my father was in control of. So we got to go back stage and meet him. He was a lovely man that i could remember. I had a white silk scarf he signed for me and my brother had a hound dog. Heart broken we lost them in a house fire several years later.
Thank you so so much Spa Guy for this video, I must have watched it a thousand times already! It absolutely breaks my heart to see how run down and unloved Elvis' property has become and now this fire which I'm sure has destroyed quite a bit of the properties original features!! I look at Alfred Weitheimers pictures from when Elvis and his cousins were fooling around in the pool & when his mum was drying out his watch for him after he jumped into the pool with it on by mistake, to name but a few of those amazing pictures!! I can't believe the pool has been filled in, if it were me I'd of brought it back to its original state. Graceland is also a "museum" and they've kept the pool there to its original state so I don't understand why it couldn't have been done at Audubon Drive too. It's really upsetting to me that this piece of history has been left to decay in this way and I hope that especially since the fire that it will be restored to as close as it can be to its original state when Elvis was there!! Sorry for the long message but I needed to express how I'm feeling. Thanks again so much, keep up the fantastic work, be safe and god speed x
Thanks for the Videos, I now know what the area, by Graceland looks like, did not know about the other homes so close by, very interesting, appreciate you doing this, big Elvis Fan, and I do love Elvis, Thanks again !! And this Audubon home footage well done !!
pretty cool video and very sad at the same time I hope they can fix the house after the fire. it would be sad to tear down a part of History . thank you very much for this video God bless
Thanks Billy for all the Elvis History. I was in Memphis before 2001. I didn't know lot about of the Early Elvis other then the Traditiona stuff like Graceland , Tupelo where he's was Born and Sun Studios. I Hope I can get to Memphis again, now I know more from Watching your Videos ,Treys, Ashley's. And others Thanks So Much.
Loving these videos!! So good the way you take us around the neighbourhood and compare with historical photos. Love the use of the drone, too. Makes you feel a part of it all there. I've been an Elvis fan over the years. I did go to Memphis and see Graceland and Lauderdale. My son and I were given a special tour of the apartment. It was our last night in Memphis before heading back to Australia and had unfortunately arrived too late to see the apartment. But because we are from Australia they were kind enough to take us through without any time restrictions. Replica of Elvis' clothes were laid out on the bed. Anyway, I was impressed that you went to the trouble to change the guitar strings and leave a spare set with picks and tuner :) you're very entertaining to as we follow you on 'tour' and really enjoyed your playing and singing. Good job 👍I hope you don't stop making these videos. Keep it up! Thanks :D
Salve ,sono una fan di ELVIS E HO LA STESSA ETÀ DI SUA FIGLIA !!!!UNA COSA IN COMUNE LA RINGRAZIO X TUTTO CIÒ CHE MI FA VEDERE , SONO FELICISSIMA ...GRAZIE IO ABITO IN ITALIA GRAZIE
Sounds like a story the author of THE ART OF THE DEAL would repeat too! Keep sticking to it SG, and tighten up! PS. I actually enjoyed the short time Old Glory showed us the view Elvis would have looking OUT from that house, and as he was leaving...for Graceland. 😉 insert The Jeffersons theme song: Moving on up to deluxe apartment...
Thanks for watching, I am working on more vids like this so stay tuned.. Spa Guy Also check out my other channel Weekly Spa Guy where I bring historical videos on all subjects including Elvis.. ruclips.net/channel/UC_azyeBauuwc931lpWoMrfQ
Mr. Spa Guy thank you for this video Sad 😢 that this house still is not repaired and something done to honor Elvis' life there. Elvis could have bought all those houses around and had the Audubon home in the middle of ALL that property. But then again there would be no Graceland. And Elvis loved Graceland. Sorry I never caught your birthday being in March. Happy belated birthday. A very good month for a birthday...granddaughter too. Tighten up. Lord bless you and your family.
I lived in Memphis for two years, 1970 until 1972, living on Spottswood, near the Orange Mound area if anyone is familiar with the area. Elvis was already moved in at Graceland at that time. I have some wonderful memories of Memphis, none of them were bad actually. Nice city back then. If you're interested, you can contact me, I have a story you might be interested in, that's strictly your call. I just want to say Thanks for sharing all these videos I subscribed to your channel so I could see more. Thanks again.
That's really what he mostly likely said because that's what I would've said after I said do u see a 4 sale signs and a gate but I do understand with the neighbors he would've said a opplaiges about it and how his career is blowing up so fast and then I would have to talk to my momma and stuff but I like to say I can do u one better and buy ur homes that how that was done but as he talked to he dad over a time period the Graceland was coming up 4 sale and there it is that's the real story from the smith family
I find these videos of Elvis past fascinating maybe this will help a future restoration project. Trying to follow the path of magic that was Elvis. Elvis himself enjoyed taking friends on tours of his past so we have a kindred spirit in many ways here.
I been buy that house a bunch of times. One of my best friend grew up across the street. The house was used in the Movie This is Memphis. Audubon is off Park Ave. across from Audubon Park. I went to a private school at Audubon Park Baptist Church. It was one of many satilite schools for a private school system for grades one through eight grade. Also another friend's grandfather that owned the Woody Packard in the movie.
Back in 70 & 71 & 72, when I lived in Memphis I would drive past Graceland daily on my way to and from work. The musical notes on the gates there were vandalized around that time, I don't know anything more about it because I didn't follow up on the progress of the Memphis PD then.
I wonder why they ruined that pretty pool! I love the huge trees in the front yard! Crazy! Billy do you know if the Presley’s put the trees in? Good job Elvis! Graceland is more fit for the king of Rock n Roll!
this house could have been turned into another Graceland and they could have made a lot of money... but Rhodes College bought it I believe and they were using it to give exhibitions inside the house.. they have three piece bands there and set up chairs in the living room you were free to touch the wallpaper and walk around the house before the show.. I honestly believe Rhodes College tried to burn this house down for insurance I believe it was an inside job because I know that that college is no big fan of Elvis . the swimming pool should never have been filled in ,I mean It was something Elvis put in there and was a great attraction
Yeah cause accidental fires never happen. Why the hell would they do that? If they want to get rid of it the could sell it for over a million dollars just because of Elvis. Besides if it was arson any investigation worth half his salt would have caught it. Arson is a lot more obvious than you think
Cool video and your explanation of what went on here at the house Elvis bought. I enjoyed watching the video but sad that it caught on fire. Keep up with your cool videos👍🇺🇸..
Actually, the story goes. The nieghbors didnt like having Elvis nextdoor, so a few of the men got together and knocked on the Presleys door. Elvis want home, and Vernon answered. The men asked Vernon how much $$$ he still owed on the mortgage, and offered to pay it off, to get them to move! Vernon then replied " its paid for, we dont have a mortgage"! With that, they tucked theyre tails in disbelief and left! Elvis returned home, and foundout, of course he was upset. Elvis replied " those S.O.B.'s. I'll buy all theyre homes, and own the street"! So the story goes... Thanks, love your Elvis related drone videos...
Thanks for reminding me Todd. It has been so long since i read that story I did it from memory but you know how that goes.. I will say that in everyone of my Elvis videos there is at least one fact wrong... Some might say it is done intentionally but I say maybe , maybe not.. I will say this I like to sometime give subscribers reason to start conversations... Thanks for watching.. I have many more Elvis and other people related videos coming up... I post hear whenever I post on my other channel at least once a week.. Spa Guy
Todd Vernon, Thanks for sharing your story with us, I have relatives who were close with the Presley's and they told me a few of them, some I couldn't tell about. I have been told by relatives that Elvis was one of the nicest people you could meet but you would never want to cross him, he had a temper and that's why I believe your story about him saying he would buy the whole street. It sounds like something he would do. lol. Thanks again.
Thank you for taking the time to make these films - always very interesting! Not sure I'll ever get to visit Memphis from here in London, so for me these are fantastic and provide a real insight...
You know Elvis always improved the houses he lived in. With fences snd pools and all kinds of improvements Trees. Etc. then to see the houses were sold sbd no one took care of them. What a shame. Very sad.
You know when he left there they should have been pleased if they didn’t like him there. But then they didn’t make sure the people who owned after Elvis didn’t take care if it and now it’s a eye sore. Why didn’t they get after who bought it to keto it nice? Geez, people are crazy. Lol
Marvellous film, well done and thank you for being able able to accede to my request for 'Audubon'. Also for the notification + the post-fire movie. You did just great!
Wow. It's a good thing you got there before the fire. Weird it was left in disrepair and let the place go, especially the pool. What a shame :( liked and subscribed. 🧡🙏
Yes they totally can fix it up. It is still part of Elvis. Someone should check into it. Maybe a Elvis fan could fix it up or fans. I am sure it could have Elvis things brought inside for tours too. Thanks for sharing with us. Yes the pool was hugh and never should of been filled in. It is a shame. Hoping it gets fixed up!
I just subcribed, that's my story & I'm sticking to it. ( Wink ! ) The folks that owned where the Graceland home stands now bought the property during the Civil War & they once owned 500 acers. But as childern inherited their shares of the property. alot was lost & when the last owner sold off 150 acers or so to land developers she sold the house that had been built in 1939 to Elvis if he would give some of the land to a church which he did. Graceland was named after the folks who 1st owned the place & the father named his property after his daughter Grace. The house is the 1st Rock & roll music star home to be put on the National Register of Historic homes, on 27 of March 1999. Pretty cool !!! The church has since sold out to the Elvis estate. The gate with the music notes on it cost. almost $4,ooo. (50s yrs) & the brick fence cost $67,000. But you already probably know all of the above. I really liked the room that has all the fabric hung up all around the room & all so the ceiling. It took workers 10 days to do. The room is in the basement where at one time was a library room. I'd love to go metal detecting. Think of the Civil War thinks one might find. I've found alot of nice jewelry that folks buried to hide it from the British during the War of 1812. The British burned most of the town down in Havre DE Grace , Maryland. Imagine what you might find around Graceland. I'd turn it in & they could add it to the history of the home/land.
Esta casa é muito bonita , parece ser muito aconchegante , a Família Presley deve ter sido muito feliz enquanto a habitou. Eu li , que se mudaram porque as fãs estavam importunando a vizinhança 😄 Grande abraço Billy !
That’s story is so good that it doesn’t matter whether it’s true or not. Been watching those repos. I guess you’ve made a lot of money, Spa Guy, but damn if you haven’t earned every dollar of it.
so interesting to see the house he lived at before Graceland. I didn’t know. I’ve only heard of Graceland or the house where he was born. it’s nice house. Even now the neighborhood looks nice.
It’s a pity what happened here. Mike Freeman and Cindy Hazen owned the house for awhile. Cindy gave me an extensive tour of the interior. It was fabulous. There were still original fixtures. They also had discovered underneath the top layer of wall paper, an older wallpaper with musical notes that EP had installed. They worked so hard at trying to restore the interior to its previous state. In each area they a picture of EP standing or doing something in that space. I don’t know why they ultimately had to sell it. I’ve never heard how extensive the fire damage was. I heard it was caused by an electrical short caused during some renovation by the College. What a pity. I sure would like to know how bad the fire was- I heard it was pretty devastating. I felt that the property was a significant home in EP history. Too bad what’s happened.
I am new to YT on my phone. I usually watch on TV. Spa Guy, please keep it up. I look forward to your Elvis videos. I agree with you on Sonny West. Met him at State Fair of Texas. He had a twinkle in his eye when he talked about Elvis He loved him. I love everything Elvis. No one is to be judged. I wish we still had them all. Please check out Coco Palms Resort in Hawaii.
Spa Guy I'm 44 this year an I was wanting to know why why the public don't see the upstairs I've seen videos of the upstairs at Graceland and wanted to know do you think Elvis still alive or not if you want you can email me at Shiloh l 76 at yahoo.com that is my wife's thank you sir you are doing a good job and maybe if you have time when you're in Florida I like to meet you in person keep up the good work sir God bless you
Barbara private its so amazing feeling to be in and around the same parts were Elvis was standing signing away And taking a tour over head billy And yes its sad about a house fire I'm glad Elvis made the right decision not moving back then
I remember the first time I heard about this property. That's when it went up for sale & was purchased for 1 million dollars. On a trip to Memphis, a year or so later, I came to this house and walked back and forth along the fence and gate just like you did, taking photos from every angle.
Thanks to you we have got to see lots of historic sights we wouldn’t have otherwise seen. Especially grateful for this, from Paul in the UK.

I just found this channel tonight and have been watching for hours. I thoroughly love the history of Elvis Presley and how you relay it. Thank you.
Thanks for sharing this! It is so neat to see the home that Elvis lived in with his parents before living at Graceland.
I read...that there was legal hearing about it....and the judge reminded the neighbors that mr presley's house was the only house that was paid for.
Thanks for your efforts. Brings home the human side of celebrities. Respect from the UK. Wonder why he left it. Very nice. Glad it was looked after compared to the ranch. People gone, buildings remain. Strange really.
You can Spa Guy! You can be my neighbor anytime...Keep this type of informative information for everyone and you are keeping ELVIS sprite alive
Great coverage, as more see the house hopefully will be preserved and opened up to fans.
I've visited Memphis last month and I've been here too. A great joy to see this house...a shame to see it so "ownerless" and ruined
Me too...it sounds silly but it hurts my heart to see it this way...
En nombre de todos los fanáticos de zelvis hago llegar a RUclips un agradecimiento por tan bonito reconocimiento a Elvis
What an absolutely beautiful piece of property!

Thank you for documenting all of these locations. The most interesting for me was Dr. Nicks house, because it has Elvis's stamp all over it.
Spa Guy
Spa Guy no thank you. really enjoy your videos...
That was very rude of those neighbors!!
Todd Vernon
Todd Vernon,
Thanks for sharing your story with us, I have relatives who were close with the Presley's and they told me a few of them, some I couldn't tell about. I have been told by relatives that Elvis was one of the nicest people you could meet but you would never want to cross him, he had a temper and that's why I believe your story about him saying he would buy the whole street. It sounds like something he would do. lol. Thanks again.
I looove that story about Elvis buying the neighbors' houses, and I'm sticking to it too!!! 🥰💒🏠🏡🏘😅😅😅🥰😇
I am enjoying these Elvis videos a lot- thanks.
Thank you for taking the time to make these films - always very interesting! Not sure I'll ever get to visit Memphis from here in London, so for me these are fantastic and provide a real insight...
Thank you - maybe one day. Hope you make it there too!
Thank you so much for watching.. I really enjoy making them.. Spa Guy
Spa Guy really enjoy watching the videos on elvis hope to see more on elvis
Your posts are awesome very informative. There just great .Thank you for posting them.
Looks like the mail box post is the original post .the scroll work looks the same from the pictures you showed. Another great video!
Love your videos of Elvis. Really good videos of the houses etc. Thank you for sharing them as if never get to see them. One day maybe. Stay safe x
great information on the king thank you buddy
This is awesome! Thank you for sharing
Thank you for another good video
Thanks for watching, Spa Guy
Another great video I always look forward to seeing them you always surprise us with something new keep up the good work 👍🤗❤️
Fascinating - thanks
Esta casa é muito bonita , parece ser muito aconchegante , a Família Presley deve ter sido muito feliz enquanto a habitou. Eu li , que se mudaram porque as fãs estavam importunando a vizinhança 😄 Grande abraço Billy !
I saw Elvis in 1960 , I was 3 yrs old ...
Love your story at the end.
Great 👍👍👍 . Thank 🌹🌹🌹.
I took a private tour with this gentleman last year. He told me he sold the house because they were divorcing.
Wow! Amazing beautiful fence the music 🎵 notes are missing .. omg the fire.. love the story lol 🙏. 2022..
Excellent Video!
Interesting.Good of the Mike Curb foundation to buy it.Thanks.
I am new to YT on my phone. I usually watch on TV. Spa Guy, please keep it up. I look forward to your Elvis videos. I agree with you on Sonny West. Met him at State Fair of Texas. He had a twinkle in his eye when he talked about Elvis
He loved him. I love everything Elvis. No one is to be judged. I wish we still had them all. Please check out Coco Palms Resort in Hawaii.
The Graceland people don't like to tell you about this house or the other house's he owned, so a lot of fans are only aware of graceland
I am working on a video of every home and a timeline Professional Gambler and it will be coming soon.. Spa Guy
Spa Guy awesome can't wait 👍👍👍👍👏👏👏
