Lots of people commenting about using his augment for primary weapons so I'll just pin this here. Use a different Warframe that's better at that instead of forcing Nidus.
Worth noting: You can't recast his 1 while it's still traveling. However, if it hits a wall, it stops sooner. This lets you cast it faster over a period of time and therefore build stacks faster. I would recommend that when you're playing Nidus, you try to bunch up enemies near some kind of wall-like surface that you can use to speed up your stack gaining.
@@darndang6050 Natural Talent has a pretty big opportunity cost. Nidus wants a lot of things (HP, armor, damage reduction, power strength, even range), and you can negate the problem of his 1 being locked out by how you position yourself. For comparison, a Warframe like Limbo is always going to take the same amount of time to cast his 4 regardless of how you position yourself. That's not the case with Nidus. So it's more advantageous for Nidus to just pay attention to how he positions himself, and then have that extra mod slot for something else, rather than run Natural Talent (which still ends up locking out his ability for a significant amount of time if Nidus screws up on positioning).
Highly recommend using Hunter Adrenaline as it completely negates any and all energy problems on Nidus Prime for me. Love the build though, I've only got 1 umbral in my Nidus Prime and I've been able to take him into deep SP survival runs
I was surprised he didn’t use hunter adrenaline, I can’t imagine not. Especially against infested where you get energy drained a lot if you’re not careful. You can get full energy back incredibly fast no problem.
@@themaninthewall2726 you're gonna be using larva more than virulence to kill. Virulence is good for stacks but it's not going to match the damage of a spray and smack from weapons.
@@1000HoursAtTheLibrar Recently I have been considering to take hunter adrenaline off. 90% of the time I don't actually take enough damage to make hunter adrenaline worth it. Enemies are either CC'ed or I take so little damage with high armor, adaption and his link that I don't get enough even when I get attacked from everywhere.
Great video, Nidus is great and I threw 2 umbra forma on him to play around with builds. I have a second build that goes all in with strength and his teeming virilance augment to make a lot of primary weapons do ridiculous red crits. It's overkill but fun.
A note, nidus is a good support in some content with the secondary effect of his 3 (strength multiplier) and can achieve similar values of roar subsumed as rhino himself for example.
I would really recommend using vazarin with nidus or really any tank based frame that also has a way to supply themselves with energy. I usually use vazarin with magus cloud and hop out of my frame, dash through my frame, and hop back in and I get 5 seconds of invulnerability and 60% health regenerated. Zenurik does pretty much absolutely nothing for warframes like nidus that never need to worry about energy. Also if you're using nidus for anything other than steel path, or even non-endurance steel path missions, I would really recommend replacing adaptation with something like constitution so you get a nice duration bump and don't get knocked on your ass and then killed if you get caught without your 3 up, OR use hunter adrenaline so you definitely never have to worry about energy. As for his exilus, I'd highly recommend a movement mod. Firewalker, maglev, or endurance drift if you're a weirdo. Nidus is my 2nd most played frame and building him like this has pretty much never let me down. Also I know somebody else said something about abundant mutation not being good at higher levels, but if you use a vulpa with their sort of "health gate" ability mod on them, and use vazarin, and just.. avoid sucking.. then you pretty much never have to worry about dying as nidus EVEN WHEN hitting the level cap, and EVEN WITH abundant mutation. The diminishing returns the enemies get on their damage output really just adds up to mean that they can absolutely never touch nidus. The absolutely outrageous amount of DR paired with the constant CC and rediculously high constant health regeneration just means that nothing in the entire game can actually take you down as long as you have even the slightest bit of self preservation. Simply put, surviving with nidus at level cap is like surviving with banshee against level 20s. It's only difficult if you suck.
