I agree with this. In a long war, it is logistics and supply that would allow one military to outlast the other. Ukraine is not only achieving short-term tactical success but also long-term strategic advantage. In my opinion, the retaking of territory should NOT be of primary importance; Ukraine should instead focus on eliminating enemy forces, whether by killing or wounding them or by capturing them. I do not like that Russian forces are being able to retreat. The Ukrainians should not allow them to get away. Personally, I would focus on further pushes in eastern Ukraine instead of trying to retake Kherson, so that I could eventually encircle and trap the ENTIRE invasion force against the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov. But I suppose it would help to make advances on Kherson to keep Russian forces there tied down so they cannot be allocated to east Ukraine.

The Russian military has suffered a lot of organizational amnesia. It used to know how to fight in winter, during WWII in particular. However, I'm WWII they also learned how to use combined arms tactics, something they are apparently no longer capable of doing. If they hadn't forgotten, why did they time their invasion of Ukraine to coincide with the spring Rasputitsa? Just because Russia has cold winters doesn't automatically make them good cold weather fighters. They learned cold weather fight from the. Finns during the Winter War, and paid a heavy price for the lessons, but what they learned was very helpful when they faced the Nazis. Keep in mind that a large fraction of the Soviet Union's army that learned those lessons was Ukrainian, and I suspect they remember those lessons better than Russia does.

..a suggestion for Ukrainian soldiers during winter months that you might already know about but in case you arent aware .. get boots a size too large , thin socks first, then a plastic bag and then another pair of socks .. that combination will help keep your feet warm and dry even with goretex boots and even if leather boots get wet .. wool socks would be the best choice .. There is such a thing as non-lethal weapons, primarily of use to police departments, but that's not what you were talking about. The right description might have been something like non-lethal supplies.

I don't support either side in this war, although I think it's terrible what is happening to Ukraine and it's people I think that obviously Russia is at fault but that needn't have stopped peace and Russian withdrawal being negotiated long ago or now! Surely war is meant to be focused on bringing lasting PEACE! Whereas this war doesn't appear to have peace as a priority rather it appears to have the goal of somehow forcing Russia into unconditional surrender. A Ukrainian spokesperson stated this week that they intend on ensuring at least the resources of some of Russia's vast territories go towards repatriation for the damage Russia has done to Ukraine it was unclear whether he was also saying Ukraine intended to occupy the territories he referred to or not! This could only be possible through diplomacy or unconditional Russian surrender! Surrender is not something I could ever imagine any country with nuclear weapons doing without exhausting it's nuclear arsenal or being completely annihilated and how could that happen without at least a proportion of Russia's nuclear missiles being at least launched, unfortunately I guess again at least some would hit their targets! All that aside it is an uncommon approach to war when the leaders of one combatant country express a willingness to negotiate peace that the other is both ignoring and refusing these offers of peace through diplomacy! No doubt people will say Russia can't be trusted! In my experience nobody can be trusted! Hence the need to put measures in place to negate any such betrayal! Such as strong defence treaties with the massive amount of countries now supporting Ukraine! A demilitrized zone with UN peacekeepers enforcement! Also no ceasefire during negotiations! Surely with precautions such as these and addressing each country's concerns, peace and Russian withdrawal can and should be negotiated as soon as possible to put an end to the death destruction and escalation and to ensure lasting peace and prosperity for Ukraine and the rest of the world! PEACE TALKS NOW PLEASE 🙏 BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE!

I agree with this. In a long war, it is logistics and supply that would allow one military to outlast the other. Ukraine is not only achieving short-term tactical success but also long-term strategic advantage.
In my opinion, the retaking of territory should NOT be of primary importance; Ukraine should instead focus on eliminating enemy forces, whether by killing or wounding them or by capturing them.
I do not like that Russian forces are being able to retreat. The Ukrainians should not allow them to get away.
Personally, I would focus on further pushes in eastern Ukraine instead of trying to retake Kherson, so that I could eventually encircle and trap the ENTIRE invasion force against the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov.
But I suppose it would help to make advances on Kherson to keep Russian forces there tied down so they cannot be allocated to east Ukraine.

depends also, Ukraine has a lot great tactical and strategic flexibility, and can easilly switch from mechanized to foot infantry tactics when its needed, and in winter, with heavy snows mud and freezing temps foot infantry winter tactics are needed, Russian have poor command and control and tactical and strategic flexibility, their troops are poorly equipped with shortages in winter gear esp. for the mobilized forced draft troops, it will be a disaster for putin this coming winter.

The Russian military has suffered a lot of organizational amnesia. It used to know how to fight in winter, during WWII in particular. However, I'm WWII they also learned how to use combined arms tactics, something they are apparently no longer capable of doing. If they hadn't forgotten, why did they time their invasion of Ukraine to coincide with the spring Rasputitsa?
Just because Russia has cold winters doesn't automatically make them good cold weather fighters. They learned cold weather fight from the. Finns during the Winter War, and paid a heavy price for the lessons, but what they learned was very helpful when they faced the Nazis.
Keep in mind that a large fraction of the Soviet Union's army that learned those lessons was Ukrainian, and I suspect they remember those lessons better than Russia does.
You forget that when Russia was in need of creating terror and swift attacks it used Cossacks ... the Soviet army was 70% Ukrainian ... keep trying! lol

..a suggestion for Ukrainian soldiers during winter months that you might already know about but in case you arent aware .. get boots a size too large , thin socks first, then a plastic bag and then another pair of socks .. that combination will help keep your feet warm and dry even with goretex boots and even if leather boots get wet .. wool socks would be the best choice .. There is such a thing as non-lethal weapons, primarily of use to police departments, but that's not what you were talking about. The right description might have been something like non-lethal supplies.

Whereas this war doesn't appear to have peace as a priority rather it appears to have the goal of somehow forcing Russia into unconditional surrender.
A Ukrainian spokesperson stated this week that they intend on ensuring at least the resources of some of Russia's vast territories go towards repatriation for the damage Russia has done to Ukraine it was unclear whether he was also saying Ukraine intended to occupy the territories he referred to or not!
This could only be possible through diplomacy or unconditional Russian surrender!
Surrender is not something I could ever imagine any country with nuclear weapons doing without exhausting it's nuclear arsenal or being completely annihilated and how could that happen without at least a proportion of Russia's nuclear missiles being at least launched, unfortunately I guess again at least some would hit their targets!
All that aside it is an uncommon approach to war when the leaders of one combatant country express a willingness to negotiate peace that the other is both ignoring and refusing these offers of peace through diplomacy!
No doubt people will say Russia can't be trusted! In my experience nobody can be trusted! Hence the need to put measures in place to negate any such betrayal!
Such as strong defence treaties with the massive amount of countries now supporting Ukraine!
A demilitrized zone with UN peacekeepers enforcement!
Also no ceasefire during negotiations!
