I know this is been more than a year ago that this video was made but thank you so much you have shown me a great way to do this I’m making this for my grandson for his birthday so I’m definitely going to be watching all your videos from now on thank you again🤙🤙🤙🤙
Hey I'm making 20 of these next week and I was wondering where I could find a stencil like the one you use in this video. Do you have an image or file of it or something that I could print out by any chance? Thanks! Love the videos
first thing i would do in this situation is turn the shirt inside out. that way it dyed evenly across the garment. do u plan to put the leaf pattern on both the front and back or just one side?
Hello. I am searching for ways to tie dye a shirt but only partially, but I find nothing on YT. I see you have experience, so I am asking you. Do you know how I can make a smaller spiral, for example only on the back of the shirt? in the middle lets say... leaving the rest white... I will try this pattern also thank you for sharing your knowledge Nancy!
using twine on the rest of the shirt is more tedious and a waste of twine imo. i pull the rubber bands off at the end, put them in a netted laundry bag and wash them in the washer with the shirts. that way i can reuse them. hope that helps!
@@TieDyeHouseNancy thanks for getting back to Me! Your work is beautiful! And to get the image of the leaf on the front and the back is no easy task! You sure make it look easy tho!!
I know this is 5 years old but are there any tricks to getting rid of the sharpie afterwards? Did a really nice one the other day but it has a really ugly outline on it
Could you possibly provide the measurements for the leaf that you used to trace the pattern? That would be very helpful! I want to make the same size scale of leaf like the one you used
Question on this. I did two basic spirals and this design is my 3rd shirt, lol! Soooo, I have already soaked in soda ash and allowed it to dry. Upon trying this though, I found out how ungodly thick it is dry and it's presenting a BIG problem for me. Can I simply now wet it down and attempt this? Can I proceed with dying while wet or do I need to let it dry again?
Awesome! Just found your channel today because I got TOTALLY frustrated trying to fold it dry, couldn't keep anything in line AT ALL! LOL Also, my leaves are perhaps twice as thin as yours but so love the way yours turned out and would love to emulate that, especially just starting out. Guess I decided to learn how to run the high hurdles after learning to walk, LOL
Thanks for sharing this without speeding it up. Great for us beginners.
Appreciate it. ❤
I am from Thailand. Thank you for helping to teach beautiful shirts.

Im really interested in making some for my self and a few other friends but do you think it would be easy to do or is it hard to do ?
i would classify this one a one that’s definitely more advanced. it will take patience and probably some trial and error. hope that helps.

Do rubber bands work as well instead of twine?
For sure! You can use a lot of stuff to be honest. Enjoy making it!!! :)
Can’t wait to try this

u would somehow have to separate the front from the back. is it a swirl that u want to do like that? i’m here to help 😊
Do you need to use soda ash or can u do it without it ?
gotta have it. it's the setting agent for the dye.
Nice work! I was wondering why You choose to use the twine just on the leaf only? Thanks so much
u mean as opposed to rubber bands?
using twine on the rest of the shirt is more tedious and a waste of twine imo. i pull the rubber bands off at the end, put them in a netted laundry bag and wash them in the washer with the shirts. that way i can reuse them. hope that helps!

I tried & tried then I finally got it!! Thank you so much for the information. How much do you sell them for ?
Where did you get the pot leaf pattern
I know this is 5 years old but are there any tricks to getting rid of the sharpie afterwards? Did a really nice one the other day but it has a really ugly outline on it
I don’t use sharpies. I use rose, art washable markers.
@@TieDyeHouseNancy I figured as much.. wish I thought of that before hand lmao
Thanks for the response & super helpful tutorial
@@brandoncalabria2470 absolutely! i’m here to help. 😊

11.5” tall
Tie Dye House thank you!
How tall is the template for the pot leaf?
roughly 13”
Do you have a video on smiley face you are wearing?
haven’t put one up yet but working on it 😊
What kind of twine do you use?
this... www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00DKA3DMY/ref=yo_ii_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1
How can I get the pattern the right shape? Or does it not have to be?
i just found one in google images and cut it out and used it 😊
@@TieDyeHouseNancy thanks 😊👍🏻
so it needs to be wet for this dye job?
yea, damp
What is soda ash ?
it’s a dye fixer. without it the dye will not hold color on the fabric.
Como consigo o molde da folha.
Where can I buy your stuff man.

Hi I can’t seem to find ur part 2 to this.

This is my first time trying this second time ever tie dying.
let me know how it goes!! :)

Awesome, go you! To answer your question you can wet it down by dipping it in the soda ash then you can proceed with the fold as well as the dyeing.
Just so I'm totally clear, I can dip it back into the soda ash again, right? Just wring it out really well?
Yes. No need to let it soak for any amount of time. Just a dip in to re-wet it.
Awesome! Just found your channel today because I got TOTALLY frustrated trying to fold it dry, couldn't keep anything in line AT ALL!
