    I watched 50% as a learning curve and the other 50% because I was so intrigued with the southern accent, like I could not hear enough of it being a Nova Scotia-ner from Canada. Thanks for the Vid.

    Nice work. We want to run water lines out to the pastures and the county has one of those 3 point subsoilers but it has a tube that runs to the bottom of the shank then it curves towards the back. Can be used to install up to 2 inch pipe! Someday maybe I'll actually do it!

    That's the only way to install conduit or pipe for me. I ran water to the barn and sheds 2 years a go and it's still doing fine. The longest straight pull I made without joining the pipe was 100' of 1" hard PVC pipe. I think it could've gone further without breaking but I played it safe. What have you found out about length of pull?
    Advice to anyone getting started, my subsoil is a Tabor which could be longer for this use. Heavy-Hitch makes an 28" adjustable subsoil which could easily be made longer with a welder. If I went longer I would make two passes, one half way then one at the depth with the pipe. It can be pulled with a 4x4 truck or a tractor. Hope this helps.

    established water lines and sewer lines...to keep the power company from cutting them.........

    Great idea for sandy soft soil with no rocks to settle back onto the pipe. This method in the wrong soil is a bad idea unless you like to replace water lines on the regular. There's a reason why the right way of installing water lines is to backfill around the pipe with sand. I've had to install several thousand feet of water line in the past 7 years, mostly reinstalls because because crushed water lines.

    Just wanted to add: Not sure if you considered it but have you seen the vid "Subsoiler - modified cable, wire and pipe burier/layer*, after learning this method it now seems like a no brainer for the small extra effort and cost of modifying things. If it would not be beneficial to you plse let me know before I get started on my pipe burying. thanks.

    I actually just ordered a subsoiler from Everything Attachments-got to lay some pvc water line like you did. I know you made the attachment to hold the pvc pipe, but what exactly did you use & how did you attach it to the subsoiler? Did you just weld a small section of pipe to the subsoiler, or did you weld a small section of pipe to some flat bar & then bolt the entire assembly to the subsoiler? Thanks for the info.

    • @GerraldFarms
      @GerraldFarms  5 лет назад +2

      Richard Rhodes thanks for watching. You can weld pipe on or cut the pipe on one end so it will straddle the sub soiler and put a bolt or two through the ears in the front. It works good for us. Have a good one

  • @cfreezy45

    How long of a pvc run can you make like this before the resistance gets too much and separates the pipe? I have a straight run I need to make that's about 200 yds long

    • @GerraldFarms
      @GerraldFarms  4 года назад

      Thanks for watching. I think you will be good. The shank is bigger than 1” pipe. You could weld something on the sub soiler to make it open the hole a little bigger for the pipe. Stay safe. Have a good one
