I think it would be neat if they had a rule where, when an instant TIC & TAC happens like that, the player wins the prizes and then plays a bonus game within a bonus game, as follows: 9 numbers conceal the following: four $25K spaces, two $50K spaces, one $100K space, and two halves of a $1M prize. The player picks one number and wins that cash prize, unless he or she finds either half of the $1M prize, which lets the player choose a second number. If the player finds the other half of the $1M, he or she wins $1M. Otherwise, he or she wins whatever dollar amount is in the box.
I like all these ideas, people! I'm Chellie just viewing this and my young self after all these years. My friend Jennifer and sister Jane were awesomely psychic!
Yes, the dragon’s favorite number was 6. The bonus game used the same patterns over and over again. After the 1st number was revealed, I always knew where the dragon was then. I’m surprised no one else caught on to it, especially long time champions.
I remember watching back in the late 70s til it went off. I did noticed the Dragon was under 6 it seemed way more often than any other spot. Don't recall there being the same patterns though. Mathematically speaking, there should have been 362,880 different possible patterns (9*8*7*6*5*4*3*2*1). And while he seemed like a genuinely nice man, I just never cared for Jim's style of hosting on this, or Top Card. Also get very sad seeing this new TTD set. It's just colder and blah compared to the homey warm feel of the wood look the original had. So sad too the show went through so much trouble updating the set only for the show to be canned later that same year.
During the 2nd season on syndication and on, yes they used the same patterns, but in season 1 on syndication, the patterns were different Now in the CBS Version, you had to get Tic Tac Dough with either X's or O's as they had 4 X's, 4 O's and a Dragon
I always paid attention to where the dragon popped up during the shuffling and memorized the pattern, and thus, where the dragon was. Even though I was just a teenager at the time, I was able to answer quite a few questions in the main game. If only I had been old enough to be on the show at the time...
How often was it that Tic and Tac were chosen in two picks? I’m sure the odds were impossible. Imagine how Jack Barry would’ve reacted if he were still alive.
I think the contestant should've won $10,000 for getting the TIC and TAC in two picks.
If it were on today then maybe.

Jim's reaction when she got the TIC and the TAC!

Pastry? Yum!
3 and 5 did that trick.

Yes, especially the fact that he once hosted Tic Tac Dough back in the late 50's
