That's so great the British Navy still comes to the island and have services for passed sailors. It shows the honor for all soldiers. Thanks for sharing your adventures.
In English a Tourist Office could also be called a Tourist Bureau (meaning department) but bureau also means chest of drawers in English! So the play on words works both ways.
Love your channel guys! We are a Dutch - Kiwi family living in New Zealand but also with family in Sweden. As novice sailers we are learning a lot from your videos. Thank you!
You two make every episode interesting and enjoyable. I like listening to you speak Swedish with its English subtitles on screen.....it's hard for me to imagine how you two are able to make sense of the words you are saying. Just shows how much more intelligent you are compared to me.....it's like each of you has two separate lives residing in one brain! Vera's all knowing smile tells me that she is one special human and is also so cute and adorable. Thank you!!!
Great episode. Thanks, as always. Vera is such a happy baby. It's cool that she knows how to hold on - must be in her "blood". It was so nice to see you anchoring for the first time. Evening at anchor is my favorite time of day. Ron
A car free island, how wonderful is that.... Loved the ‘tourist bureau’ play on words; it was a very colourful bureau too! Your videos are always so interesting and a joy to watch.
Such beautiful and interesting places. It's suprising how big miss Vera is getting. I was thinking how funny its going to be when she starts walking and running around. Y'all are gonna have your hands full then lol. Stay safe and healthy
I love hornbeam. There's lots of it here over 7,000 kilometers away near the center of the north American continent, and I gather the dead branches for trellis in my garden
Another very nice video, such a beautiful country Sweden, so much history and landscape. I also enjoy watching RANII slicing through the water while under sail, going 7+ knots , thank you for sharing. Fair winds and safe travels.
Truly beautiful scenery. Love the remote control anchoring and new davits for R2D2. You both have really come a long way from RAN, almost to civilized cruising? Best to all three.
Really liked this episode. Captured what cruising is all about in an island archipelago. Short runs, lots of exploring and just taking it easy. Looks like Ran II is going to be a good home and cruising vessel too. Enjoy!
Love your Chanel. My husband and I used to sail a Nonsuch for many years. Now we watch sailing chanels, yours being one of our favorites .Vera is such a sweet little child.Cheers 🇨🇦🇨🇦
I very much enjoy your episodes. The country and Malin's narration is so enjoyable. I am surprised at the boat speed you get in relatively moderate winds. Vera is priceless.
So peaceful. Your music selections are so good, every time. Such a beautiful place! Your camera skills really show it off. I hope your neck is better Malin, must be that beautiful thick long hair you're growing ;-) Vera is growing so fast and she is so cute.
Thanks for providing the background info on where your are visiting! It makes the video extra special. And the effort to get the shots and the editing are top notch!
This video made all of the troubles of the world disappear for 20 minutes. It was quiet. The weather was glorious (mostly). I have to say RAN II sails really well but I think you should mount a sturdy shackle much further back somewhere on the gunnel so that you can get a much flatter sail shape on the tail end of your Genoa. I used to own a Northern 29, designed by Sparkman and Stevens. It had an inside track with the end closest to the cockpit about where your shackle is currently located. It also had an outside track that ran in place of the gunnel, with the end of the track as far back as the cockpit. When the car was back as far as it would go it was possible to really get the Genoa to flatten out on the leech of the sail creating the perfect aerofoil shape from the furler to the back of the sail and it would match the shape of the main sail perfectly. In this configuration the two sails would really drive the boat. The difference could be as much as 1.5 to 2.0 knots. Your current configuration curls the leech of the sail causing turbulence and drag at the back of the Genoa. Flatten that section of the sail so that it is in line with the shape of your sailboat and watch your speed increase.
I have a confession to make... I used to watch you guys to see all the wonderful places you go and enjoy the excellent filmmaking. Now, I tune in to see Vera. She is so adorable and your family is just lovely.
Sweden is such a beautiful country so I was looking forward to your summer cruise. It isn't disappointing at all. Beautiful camera and editing work. How are you liking the sailing qualities of the Najad? The answer would make a great wrap up video of the summer sailing season.
@@clayfarnet970 When we raced every week I would sometimes have a fibreglass repair done in the same week and back into the water for the next race. My aluminium welding, well put it this way, no one would want to be in a boat I had welded. I would start well then end up with holes everywhere. We only sank once during a race.
Thank you for sharing such a pleasant video, and a day with your family. Vera was holding so tight, because she wasn't through studying the chart. Safe travels.
Sweden has always been on my list of places I would consider visiting. After watching this I think I will move it higher on the list. It looks like you are getting pretty comfortable with the boat but be careful when trying to dock like the ferry captain.
What a beautiful body of water to sail. The Baltic’s look amazing. Very interesting islands and small towns. Thank you for the tour. I’d love to be out there sailing. Or for that matter just sailing period anywhere for now. I do enjoy your videos and look of life on a very nice boat. Thank you and sail on !!!
The light colour material for your cockpit tent was a great idea, just imagining how dark it would be inside if it was the standard blue....! Good to see you cruising again and best wishes from the UK.
In English, the word "HAY" means dried grass gathered to feed livestock. When you were exploring Hanö and talking about the deer I had to laugh when I saw the bag on Malin's back with that word because for just a second or two I thought you were going to feed the deer! Thank you so much for sharing all of these glorious corners of the Swedish Archipelago. And Vera has the most beautiful smile! Watching these videos of your family and the sea just makes me happy. Thank you.
I had a thought for the baby seat. The system used in the Us cars and I’m sure we took from someone else. On the cockpit bench find a crux that wouldn’t interfere with opening the seat hatch covers and install some hooks that you can attach the car seat to. This would keep the seat from sliding around. What do you think.
The chill vibe, great vid quality, & awesome tunes are why you guys are one of my fav channels. Plus I'm loving the weekly tour of your home country. Tx!!
Great videography as usual. You're going to want to put some safety netting around the deck before Vera starts venturing out on her own, which looks to be pretty soon!
I read Johan's mind while he was looking very closely at that cannon, he was trying to think of a way to mount that cannon of Ran II! Must be the Viking coming out in him!
Vera makes me smile every time I see her

We can't believe how big Vera is getting! You both must be so proud.
Looks like you are having a wonderful summer. I think Vera will be walking by the time you head back home. Then the fun begins. 🤣
Vera is growing so fast. She's gonna be a top notch sailor one day for sure.
Go along with your comments, RAN II , when will you put netting around the lifelines for a very active Vera ?
I enjoyed the ambient sounds of the birds and the thunder on this episode. Very nice.
That is the cutest tourist bureau I’ve ever seen. Sweden is a beautiful country. Cheers from 🇨🇦

That is called epicormic sprouting, when the leaves start emerging along the bole beneath the main canopy.
Great episode. Thanks, as always. Vera is such a happy baby. It's cool that she knows how to hold on - must be in her "blood". It was so nice to see you anchoring for the first time. Evening at anchor is my favorite time of day. Ron

Thanks for the excellent sailing-life vlogs! I am convinced that Vera is never grumpy - what a little sweetheart!
Good to see RAN II finally get to stretch out her sails in a decent breeze, even if just for a brief time.

We love our new boat! We're thinking of making a video comparing old RAN with RAN II... Cheers!
00pp
Ask them that question after completing a big fiberglass repair. I love their new boat too. They seem very comfortable at all points of sail. 😂😂👍👍✌️✌️

Then I saw vera; what a dear child and young viking she be! Thank you for sharing.

Great videography as usual. You're going to want to put some safety netting around the deck before Vera starts venturing out on her own, which looks to be pretty soon!
... when Malin says "listen to the Nightingale" ... it reminds me of... "listen to the Mockingjay" in "Hunger Games" ...
oh we love seeing vera xx
Looks like it is time to plan next boat project. Putting netting up around the outer handrails to keep Vera inside.
Another wonderful episode of the Vera show. Thanks so much for sharing. Oh no I meant Ran Sailing.
Thanks for this one. cheers and hugs to Vera, Adam, Tofino.CA.
Thank you Ran for 209.
great as usual thanks. I noticed a smoke stack bellowing when you where at the English grace yard , maybe a pulp mill or factory or?
I read Johan's mind while he was looking very closely at that cannon, he was trying to think of a way to mount that cannon of Ran II! Must be the Viking coming out in him!
You both are great Swedish Tour guides...thanks for sharing..
