This was SO MUCH FUN! And SO MUCH good food! Hoi An is one of the best towns in Vietnam to get fresh, delicious Vietnamese food. Here's what we ate:
-Com Ga at Long Chicken Rice. Com Ga is a simple, hearty Viet dish with the rice cooked in chicken stock, served with all parts of chicken meat. Top it with some veggies, egg, and you got yourself a great lunch!
-Banh Vac at Miss Ly Cafe. Banh Vac are white rose dumplings with shrimp meat and an airy rice dough folded to resemble a flower. Such a great, light snack!
-Mi Quang (my favorite) at Central Market. Mi Quang is a thick, rice noodle dish with a small amount of broth to give it that sunny, tasty hue!
-Cau Lau is the essence of Hoi An in a bowl! It's smoky noodles gives you that everlasting flavor - only Cau Lau in Hoi An is the best! We went to Bobo Cafe here but the original place is Thanh Cao Lầu.
-Banh Xoai or Mango Seed. This chewy, mochi snack is such a delight. Don't be fooled by its name...it's actually peanut with a sticky outer layer.
-Banh Beo! This water fern cake is a small steamed rice cake topped with dried shrimp, scallion oil, and mung beans. SO GOOD, omg! It's originally from Hue, very special to Central Vietnam.
Go on your own food adventure and eat your heart out in Hoi An, Vietnam!
If you've made it this far...give this video a big thumbs up. You're noodley goodness :)

I auto thumbs up each video because I know you put mad research and work into each vlog and this one just proved that to be true. Keep creating girl
Great video! Thank you so much for introducing our country to people around the world. There are still many kinds of delicious foods in Hoi An and Da Nang that you did not try. Let's come back and enjoy more!
Your videos are the best. I will be visiting Ho Chi Minh City in March '17 and will stay there for 6 months. These videos will help me understand the culture, especially the food. I really look forward to trying the food and walking the streets.
You're killing me TJ with the delicious food and the price ;:-) The term "fresh" in VN is different from here in the US. Here, fresh mean the package was just opened. There, fresh mean it was picked that morning, tree ripened. We used to eat freshly cooked tofu (with sweet ginger sauce) from ladies that sold them from their cart and they would ask us to just leave the small bowls at the door of the house too and they would circle back to pick them up later. They walk a lot from neighborhood to neighborhood to earn their living and the neighborhood support them by letting their dirty bowls kept there for a short while. Your bravery at trying local food is paying off big time. Enjoy VN and I really appreciate your taking the time to post your videos.
The fresh foods there are AMAZING! And WOW that's so good to know. I was confused why we'd just leave the bowls there but it's nice knowing it's been like that for a while :) I love that the neighborhood is so close knit.
Thank you Minh, I really appreciate your support AND for sharing your knowledge! Freshly cooked tofu? Sounds too good.

Aw shucks, thank you!
Haha, Hoi An is very cute but I wouldn't call it an eating destination. Nearby Da Nang, however, has a ton of great spots -- you should do a show there.
I like the music in the second half of the video better than the first half
Jeff or X I X X (the artist) is the man that's why :)!
I miss the Cao lau :-(. We spent Christmas in Hoi An.
Cao Lau is the absolute best here! And whoa...that must've been amazing?1 Did they put up more lights?
CupofTJ yes there were quite a few Christmas themed light displays. Hoi An was our favorite city in Asia and Bon restaurant and bar was the best Cao lau we had there.
Oh man Hoi An is definitely one of the most beautiful and unique places to spend Christmas, ty for sharing Georgia :)!
Hey TJ what does your tattoo mean, it’s cute
omg tj my favorite food in the frking world is banh beo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can you cook us viet food when u come back pls
I almost cry every time, I'm so jealous. I want to go Vietnam so bad! Fancy booking me a flight @CupofTJ? hehe
LOL I cry everytime~ OK booking right now

Heheh yes :) spicy food here I come~
CupofTJ which part of India are u covering
SO we are starting in Kerala and then working our way up to the North Rajasthan! Since we're kind of confused about getting around, a lot of the trip isn't planned yet
There's no way I can find authentic Vietnamese food in Kolkata. Surely they look delicious. Just look at the bits of chicken! :'(
We love Hoi An so much we just moved here, you can check out our channel for more videos on Hoi An ;)
Hi ,i notice one thing that your last name is 李?
😚😚👍👍🙋
The Water Came From WHERE ?
where's your next stop?
@0:42 did you say VietManese? Lol
Sometimes my fob side comes out and takes over LMAO
CLIFFORD DANG lol, that was the first thing I noticed too! After replaying it to make sure I wasn't imagining things, I had to check the comments to see if it was an long running joke I wasn't aware of.
Elizabeth Nguyen sry my friends my pronunciation not always one hunnit 😭 at least nailing the spelling ✊🏻
CupofTJ - Oh no, don't be sorry. I actually think it sounds kind of cute!
Elizabeth Nguyen AW :') ok ily Elizabeth
i am vietnamese
I still don't know how you can eat so much and stay petite!
I can also brand my dish: the water comes from a million year old river ground water basin, the bread comes from the million year old soil that has been farmed by descendants of people that came here hundreds of thousands of years ago. The meat came from an animal that evolved for millions of years only to end up in a poultry farm. So eat my dish its the essence of mindoro
Hi! I would to, with u :)
🇻🇳
You look Vietnamese TJ
HEYY get out of my house :)
look delicious girl
That time when this girl had Manny Pacquiao on the channel.
Did you say Vietmanese?
Yes when I'm filming I sometimes don't catch if I talked too fast and mispronounced something and when I catch it while editing it's too late. I wish I could go back in time but I wish more people would stop pointing this out when I spent hours and hours planning, filming, and editing these videos on Vietnamese culture and food. It's one time, can we let a girl live please? 🙏🏻😩
Are you Vietnamese
I want to know what your Tattoo says?
My last name!
CupofTJ Thank you I won't enquire what it is I was just intrigued! 😊 keep up the good work luving your Vlogs
TY MARK :D haha it doesn't really have a meaning...the Chinese word is plum like the fruit!
CupofTJ oh that's quite cute! It's certainly appropriate with your strong affinity for food! 😊
@@CupofTJ my last name is pear, like the fruit :-D
She said “100% Vietmanese.”
Why those friends of yours making face when they eat
Eating food, having fun :D!
viet manese? its viet names....just saying
I know :( I got too excited and slurred my words! Mistakes happens
It's "VietNAMese", not "VietMANese". FYI. Might want to at least know how to say the name of the country you're making a video of correctly. Appreciate the video though!
+jl7676 already addressed
I'm sorry but the food in the first restaurant don't look traditional or authentic whatsoever. Laminated menu in English? Noooo
Look at the clientele in the second restaurant, all non-VNmese.
Girl you really said vietMaNese? Really?
Already addressed this. I was excited and slurred my words. Hard to edit out when it’s in the intro. I know how to say Vietnamese. Not a perfect human don’t be so hard on a person just making videos?
Where is the dog meat 🤣🤣
You make me wanna go back there again ! :D
COME BACK :D!
