“i hope it was nice to put on during your dinner” he says as i’m eating dinner 💀 yes rick, you make videos that are worthy enough to put on during dinner 🙏
Hello mister Olson! Thank you for showing us your guitars. Please, continue showing us your gear and talking about it. I know you're not just a guitarist. There're so many things that you do. I'd appreciate you talking about your gear such as cameras, micros, stuff for audio-recording, etc. I'd also like to admit that the video is interesting and well filmed. I like the way you shoot your videos. And I also like the lamps at the background. They kinda make this video so comfy and good-looking. Good luck with your trip!
Did not realize you were the guitarist for MIW. I started watching your videos for the quad cortex (you sold me on it, should be here in a few days). I just want to say that as a content creator I appreciate how much attention you're putting into your videos. Lighting, composition, audio, the little things I geek about :) Thanks for the video! Happy to subscribe.
@@RickyOlson RICKY I SEE THE SITE WHERE YOU LIVE BEFORE & IS BEAUTY I LIKE IT YOU LIKE MY NAME KILLER SUICIDE ? & YOU LOVE THE NATURE ? YOU MUST VIDEOS WITH LANDSCAPES I AM INTERNET ADDICTION . YOU MUST LISTEN TO MOTTY STEINMETZ . RICHARD OLSON HA HA !!
Loved the guitar showcase! And even if you don’t know specs and other gear intricacy’s, you’ve been a musician for many years. You’ve created so many great pieces of music throughout the years and it always sounds phenomenal! I’ve looked up to you since I was kid and even now as an adult, I still look up to you! Thank you for just being so damn cool!
@ 00:58 I half expected you to say "Is that my house is very... haunted" lol And don't apologize mang! I like watching these videos. Even if I have no idea what you're talking about half the time becuz I don't know that much about cameras or instruments, it's very soothing 😂
6:05 I love you casually help us in figuring out as to why Justin is always wearing leather gloves when he plays bass, lolz!!! Maybe try gloves next time Ricky, wouldn't want you to get hurt again!!! Can't wait for your next video for sure!!! And hopefully we eventually get to see a part 2 of your guitars & gear, would definitely be awesome to see all of that!!! Definitely hope that you have tons of fun at Shiprocked!!! We love you Ricky!!!
This was awesome, Ricky. I ended up getting an IbanezRGIB21 a while ago based off of guitars you and Lee Malia have played. I'd definitely like to see a part 2.
Absolutely love hearing you talk about what you love and would love part 2! Your love for all your instruments comes through when you talk about them. I know nothing about guitars and seeing the subtle differences is really cool. And oh my goodness that acoustic is stunning. I love that inlay. After seeing the Thoughts and Prayers video I was wondering how you cleaned everything and it’s so cool to see that you just didn’t! Thank you for all the content you make and I cannot wait to see the shirts!
I absolutely agree man! If gear sounds good to your ears, feels good to play, and just makes ya happy then it is a win in my book. Awesome to see your guitars!
8:09 "...and you're geekin out to gear gods" :D yeah I know these comments back then. Tbh I'am quite a gear guy. I love the different woods, feelings, pickups and all that stuff. But I can understand how it is when you only want good equipment to do the job. For myself I hate to spend hours for tweaking sounds. I like the first step into this sort of gear realeted videos. Thanks! Perhaps you can sometime talk about some background stuff. How it is to be a endorsed player or how it comes to that. Or how the song writing goes for you. Just for example. But do your thing thats just my thoughts
Definitely need a Part 2!! Specs guy or not your passion for your craft shines through. My dad is a Gibson guy, so it’s interesting hearing about models different than what I grew up around. Have fun on Shiprocked!!! 🤘
Once again the best way to spend an evening watching one of your videos! These are all great and I don't know if that's a thing to keep anyway, but, you have such different memories with each of them which is great! now I realize how little I notice! And yes, I'm definitely one of those people who would love to see more of it! For example as you mentioned, the ones you use at the moment and maybe even the ones you use on tour (if that differs). You mentioned that you don't really care to know everything about them and while I know little (at least not yet, that alone is a step forward for me to find out) I think it should be as long as they are comfortable and sound the way they should simply good. That's the most important thing anyway. And you apologize so often for the videos being so long, it's just the right thing and just great to watch! You make me wanna start learning this! Anyway, looking forward to things to come! And I hope this video didn't take too long for you to edit 😂 See you soon! ☆
Loved hearing and watching you talk about your guitars and would love to see a part 2!!!!! Have fun on shiprocked!!!! You’re videos always always makes my day much better Ricky 🖤💜🖤💜🖤💜
"i'm sorry to myself who has to sit and watch this" is such a mood. Pretty much all of my unfinished video projects also come from just not wanting to hear myself for that long. And the not knowing specs is also a mood, if you tried to ask me specs of any of my instruments all I could tell you are, "well my favorite bass is my fretless and the only guitar i play right handed is my acoustic because the neck isn't too narrow like my electrics"
Made my husband watch this with me cause he plays and Ibanez r his favorite and he's now online guitar shopping. Love these videos ricky and can't wait for ur merch!!
If I would be looking for one and wouldn’t know which one to chose I’d definitely go back to this video. I trust your opinion and now that you said it, if they were already great for those amazing songs and mvs, they just must be really good.
Man, I saw you guys live years ago and absolutely loved your tone. That gear video that you referenced in your outro is what led me to buying my RGIB21. Love this kind of content, even if it isn't super technical.
I had the MTM2 back in the days. Tjis guitar got me into Ibanez and made me fall in love with the Ibanez neck shape. Definitely need a Part 2 where for example you may tell us more about playing 6 strings instead of 7 strings even for low tunings and other preferences !
I normally don't comment on videos but I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed this video. I have been loving your content lately keep it coming!!
I bought my first guitar this week, an Ibanez GSA 60 because of you, you’ve been a massive inspiration to me over the last nearly 12 years. So thank you! I hope you do more content like this, on here or Patreon (if you decide to do that). 😊
This was such a lovely video to watch! I know nothing about guitars, but since you introduced each guitar in a short & sweet manner it was fairly easy to stay engaged! Would love to see a part two sometime soon!~
This was really cool all of them looked awesome and it was cool to see you talk about them I really enjoyed it and you seamed happy to be talking about them I'd love to see a part two to this🤟
SO AWESOME!! You really played in blood!?!?? Sweet! I always wondered what happened to instruments that were used in music videos. Thank you Ricky 💜💜💜💜MIW Forever!
ty for this! it was very interesting and i love just watching you talking about things you love, you get so into it. very excited to see the merch! love ya
Dude. . . Whatever music you put over the intro sounds like The Midnight. And I love that. Also, not overly versed in guitars, but they look amazing, and sound amazing.
Super excited that you mentioned the sweatshirt! I noticed the logo immediately and wondered if there was merch I somehow missed out on. I bought the Roze Supply apparel and now I want more 🖤
This was actually refreshing for me. I have seen guitar showcases from other bands and they spend 20 minutes talking about the tone wood and its good but I don't know anything about that stuff. This was simple, efficient and informative in the ways that matter to fans!
I noticed your sweatshirt right away and your water bottle from the last video. Very excited for this merch coming soon! Definitely keep up updated and definitely give us a part two of the guitars when you can!🫶🏼🖤
I remember meeting you at knotfest years back and you told me about the RGIB6, snagged that thing and is my favorite guitar to this day. Same for the floral acoustic. Awesome to see you doing stuff on gear now too. Thanks for bringing up the hoodies cus I was gonna ask on that too!
I almost bought a roadcore 8 years ago and you were the reason, but I bought a 7 string because I knew that Devil's Night has cool low 0s and that's it
whenever you decide to start a patreon (or not) we stand with you! whatever you do, we will always be grateful to you for your updates, tutorials, advices about guitars etc. / thank you for another informative video, looking forward to the next one!🙏
I enjoy watching your videos, because I always learn something new about music, photography and sound. Also, I like to see your passion about these things. Always waiting for the week video. I can hear you talking and talking, love your voice and with that mic sounds great!!! Saludos from Mexico 😉 🖤
hi rick...given that this video was direct to the point and like you said, short and sweet, would you consider doing a beginner's crash course on how to play the guitar? thank you :D
Hi, ricky I just wanted to let you know u are my favorite guitarist u are the reason I am learning to play guitar and Ibanez is my favorite hope to get one day
Now that you've done a video about your guitars, i would love to see a video about your vocals, to know the process of your learning, idk, just tell how you feel about it!
Absolutely love this video, I’m waiting for part 2! Actually I remember that Gear Gods video and I watched it multiple times because I wanted so bad a 6505 head at the time ahah. Btw it would be cool to see your practice routine or your approach to composition for MIW. Love your channel ❤
As a big fan of Ibanez and also your guitars. I appreciated this video. Been searching for forever for that RG 3521. Come to terms that I’ll probably never have it - forever cries lol Can’t wait for that merch drop though! Love your heart logo design.
i know so little about guitars so i kind of appreciate the lack of specs because i find that stuff so confusing personally- they all look super pretty that's really all i understand 😭😭😭 love the video as always!!! 🤎🤎
Definitely some beautiful guitars for sure my dude. No lie one of my most reliable guitars ironically is one of my Ibanez GIO 7s and 6s. Lol They were a father's day gift from my daughter a few years back. But man I have no problems with either and tuning is not an issue. I use them for a lot of covers and recording. I have a few keisels and Ibanez guitars like I love my Ibanez Axion Label for sure and my schecter 8s but for some reason. My GIOs are being beasts for me. My 7s do have Fishman Fluence pickups in them. The Tosin Abasi ones. And the other 7 and 6s do have bare knuckles in them. But for sure brother I appreciate your videos and everything you do. You are a huge influence of mine.
You might not know the ins and out of the guitar's but you know how to make rocking music from them! That's all the matters!! Can't wait for the merch!!! 😍
Thanks for the video Ricky!! 😄💕 It was very interesting to see the guitars you have (and a bass that has nothing to do with it but it's nice 😂) keep making great videos 😄😆
Don't worry I trust your opinions homie
“i hope it was nice to put on during your dinner” he says as i’m eating dinner 💀
yes rick, you make videos that are worthy enough to put on during dinner 🙏
Ricky u were the first person from whom I learned about guitars of this brand, and now, one years later, Im going to buy my first guitar thanks to u
Definitely need a part 2. Your videos always keep me happy and entertained even if I have had a crappy day. Thank you

This is the content we love man. Don't need anything flashy. This is great content
Part 2 please ! I love the way you're explaining things - simple and straight to the point. Enjoy your weekend 🐸
What a beautiful way to explain the passion for your instrument
This was awesome, Ricky. I ended up getting an IbanezRGIB21 a while ago based off of guitars you and Lee Malia have played. I'd definitely like to see a part 2.
I feel so called out, I literally put this on as a background of my dinner XD
Yes, please definitely do an update!
You have no idea how happy your videos make me 🥲
Thank you for this. I bought an Ibanez guitar after seeing you in Omaha last year. I appreciate that you take time to talk about your gear.

I love these videos they’re really relaxing and fun to watch! Also side note I love the hanging lights in the background they’re really cool!!
Thanks, Ava!
There definitely needs to be a part 2, I've been dreaming about this video since I was like 12 years old, and I'm 23 now 😭, thank you Ricky! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘

Always good to see your videos só i hope to see a second part!
Greeting from Portugal
I did watch this while I was eating lunch (close enough). You know me so well.
